For feck sake. What can go wrong here if Woody stays? We only have a precedent of 8 years and 3 wrong appointments (Moyes was appointed before Woody got the job).

Because he's done an absolute bang up job so far. Why won't this guy just leave, he's overseen the worst period this club has ever seen in many many a year and he's kept around to keep at it like his expert council is actually worth something

The hits just keep on coming.

Surely this is the time to wash our hands of any of his decisions. No let’s let him feck it up for the future also.

don't worry, he'll sign another noodle or tyre partner to increase our commercial income.

It's like Ole returning as a permanent manager all over again

Well he's hired 3 full time managers and not any of them have done well. In fact it was Woodward who gave Ole a 3 year contract 3 months ago.

This club is a joke.

As much as we all hate him, is this news, especially breaking? We knew he'd stay beyond the end of the year and towards end of this football season.

Don't get me wrong, he's a parasite and an overbearing cloud of failure that hangs over this club but I haven't learned anything new from the article.

8 years, 4 managers, 2 caretakers, 0 league titles.

1 common denominator.

I think he’s so desperate for his tenure to be end in a positive light that he doesn’t want it to happen on this note.

It’s a lost cause. His time here has been largely shambolic for the club and will be remembered as such regardless of what happens in his final months. He will always be unpopular due to his role in the Glazer takeover and therefore his presence at the club will always be divisive.

Just go.

You couldn't make it up, what with his successful track record of appointments.

It doesn't really make much difference does it? Even if he leaves it'd only end up being his mate Richard Arnold carrying out the work instead. As he's part of the same board we all complain about I can't see there being a big change in our approach.

FFS. Woody is like a bad infection. You think you've treated it adequately and the infection has been cleared, then BOOM, another abscess pops up

He probably feels like he is about to save the club from despair right now.

The noodle and tyre partners seem to have dried up in the last couple years as well

Great news! We Go Again FC

I have total faith in this man to pick us a great new permanent manager that will finally replace SAF, maybe even someone twice as good as him. A 52 year managerial reign incoming!

The fifth times the charm...

I'm starting to get the impression the Glazers are so hands off that Woody can just do what he likes. He probably called to ask and they just told him yeah whatever.

Predictable.

He always intended this. He wanted the ESL thing to blow over, deliver us a good transfer window and be in and amongst the title contenders at this point when the decision is announced.

It’s all gone to shit so he’s playing it as “I’m needed in this moment of crisis” instead.

This moment of crisis is down to him and him alone, his exit will begin the repairing process.

He has to be a City/Liverpool plant at this point.

You are spot on I think. The real problem is the owners. These guys are just the daily face.

Having said that hope springs eternal, that somehow Richard Arnold would be different.
