He’s the one in charge of Barca who let slip a 3-0 lead at home and lost it 3-4 on aggregate to the dippers, didn’t he?
In fairness, he had two full seasons in charge; won La Liga both times, Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup. That and he was top of the league in his third season when he was fired. He did a very good job for them and really was only let go because of the embarrassment of the CL exit.

Valverde is someone who you hire as Interim if the plan is to bring in ten Hag IMO.

Valverde is a 4-3-3 guy isn’t he? We desperately need a midfielder in.

Valverde is old-school 4-4-2 with occasional wingers.

Also a joyless character and an utter loser in knockout competitions.

Valverde will be a good choice as long as he's not permanent. Will see us through the season but his football is shit and he's not charismatic at all. Interim at most please, then get Poch or Ten Hag in summer.

Wouldn’t mind Valverde as an interim if it meant getting ten Hag in the summer. His record was pretty good at Barca (went on a 29-game unbeaten run) and led them to the CL semis for the first time in 3 years. Not the most charismatic personality but his CV is not bad at all.

In my opinion they played a lot better under Tuchel,Pochettino's PSG seem very disjointed with no clear game plan.
They played the same. It’s hard the way the club is run to get players like Neymar and Mbappe to adopt instructions. Add Messi to the group and you get what Poch is delivering.

Both Tuchel and Poch build teams on the ability to press well. PSG players don’t want to press.

I have no doubt Poch will revert back to Spurs style of football once he leaves.

The problem with Carrick doing well is that it makes it harder for the incoming interim. It would be very us to beat Chelsea, get another win or two and then bring someone else in and start losing.

For that reason alone, keep Carrick there until we lose. Just to be safe.

carrick until the end of season to prove his worth, i dont oppose to that

he knows already all the squad and the united DNA would still be intact. carrick proved today he can make the subs at the right time.

its a good start, no doubt

The Carrick "jokes" are already beyond tedious.

The board are incompetent but they're not utterly thick. We will bring in an interim if Poch isn't available now.

my concern with that is that we go on a 5 year unbeaten run and miss out on 10 bag from ajax.

Matic. Seriously man his legs have gone did you not watch the Watford game he was beyond hopeless
We're talking about possession football and that includes having a zonal, positional setup which provides a proper structure both on and off the ball, to circumvent off the ball individual issues which provides level of control, both in offensive and defensive transitions.

Valverde? The guy who absolutely shat the sheets 2 year in a row and got knocked out the CL despite having 3 goal leads?

Who are the other 4? I'm guessing Rangnick is one.

If he's coming in as interim why would he be involved in signing players?
Maybe Jamie Jackson threw that in there for a laugh, but I think we should go ahead and sign players, if we feel there's players out there who will improve the team/squad. We have the setup to do that and shouldn't rely on the manager for everything like at other clubs.

To be fair Valverde is a good coach, a pragmatic coach that should be good enough for 6 to 18 months.

It'll be for about 8 months or something. As an interim, I just want anyone competent enough to get through the season, finish top 4 and make a good run in CL. Not like he'll be our future or anything.

As an interim, he's a decent choice.

We'll get spanked by the league leaders this weekend. They won't go easy on us in the same way that MCFC and LFC did. I've noticed the CFC don't take their foot off the gas, so I expect a big scoreline.
Now, if you are suggesting that Carrick should stay in place, until we lose our first match, I concur and feel that he should be replaced next week.

He might have shat the bed, but then Maester Aemon came along and shat the bed much worse very quickly.

Wouldn't mind him on a strictly interim basis if he can actually speak English (he's only managed in Spain and Greece).

Doesn’t matter how Carrick does. The problem I have with this club is that we seem to not plan for a manager or have a way we want to play and hunt a manager that suits.
Pep with City and Klopp with Liverpool were both prepared for. We went from LVG to Jose which showed we didn’t have a set way we wanted to play and required us changed style and multiple players to fit each managers way of playing.

If our plan is too play a attacking possession based style we should hire a manager that we think will bring that and if he falls below expectations and is replaced he should be replaced by a manager with the same vision
