Could he finally the first good manager that has played under Sir Alex??? (I say that because he was an intelligent midfielder) Hope he continues at a lower level and makes a name for himself.

Correct decision. Like players, how long as a coach can you keep losing and still have a chance of becoming a winning coach. There comes a point where you're totally attached to the problems of the past few years.

Seems a really good guy though

That came out of nowhere.

Maybe he feels partly responsible for the failings this season and it's his duty to leave with Ole. He's got integrity, that's for sure.

Magical Manchester United.
Club legend, fantastic servant and will always be one of my favourite players. Thanks Michael! Whoever made the call doesn’t matter, it’s definitely the right one.

A bit strange. Thought him & McKenna would stay and it would be Phelan who left

Wow, wasn't expecting this at all... thought he should have been let go but big respect to him with as it was his own decision. What a leaving present as well.

Will watch his career from here on with interest, wish him all the best for the future. Hard to believe he's not Scholes.

Great pen in Moscow, he was the glue of our midfield for a long time. Really like the lad, hope he has a career in management.

Nice that he was undefeated as manager so we got to avoid posters coming in here and telling me he wasn’t that good of a player and absolutely not a legend.

Keane's been an idiot this year. Thanks for everything, Carrick!

Whish him all the best. Great player and seems like a decent human beeing.

Nonchalantly scoring the winner...
Feel more sad about Carrick leaving than Solskjaer tbh…

But he (and McKenna) have been at Utd under enough failed regimes really.

Really wish him the best and hope he carries on his coaching career.

Very likeable, seemingly genuine guy.

Much respect.

Great servant for the club over the past 15 years and did a good job over the past 3 games.

Good luck Michael in where ever your career takes you.

Loved him as a player. Handled himself so well this week. Hope he comes back one day.
This is what’s wrong with this club. Poor Ole, poor Carrick. Need to move on from all this sentimental bull shit and get this club back to wining major trophies!

Nice one Carrick, a decent caretaker stint when we needed someone to step up should be remembered fondly by us.

Whether it's really his decision to leave or not, I'm glad he's moving on and Ralf can start with a cleaner slate (not sure what McKenna's situation will be etc.).

No surprise really. Can't go from having such a big role and say in the team to going to a coach with little say and influence.

Best of luck to him. I hope he can go somewhere and develop his game then maybe come back to us a better manager

Shame, but he had to go. McKenna and Phelan should be out too.

Maguire looks and sounds devastated.

He’s been a part of the club for a long time. Probably the right decision for all parties but good luck to him.

Fair play. Good luck Michael. The big hug with Bruno at the end makes more sense now.

Phelan, McKenna et al should also be thinking about their roles too.
Phelan definitely. Rangnick's bringing his own assistant, so i'm not sure what Phelan's new role would be.

McKenna as a coach under Rangnick's tutelage could be a valuable asset.

Love carrick. Elegant player and seems to be an overall class guy. Sad to see him go, best of luck to him.
