Honestly our problems run so deep that we shouldn't even be thinking about signing players like Haaland right now. Just let him go to City while we continue to work towards developing a system and style of play which is far more important than signing a shiny new striker.

Man, there's a whole lot of copium going on in this thread. If he brings toxicity, why hasn't that happened in Dortmund yet?
I think with the best will in world Dortmund always knew Haaland would leave at some point so he was always going to be short term, so not really much point in Raiola shit stirring there because he knows they have an automatic out with the release clause anyway.

If he was at us now for example he would be pimping him around every single possible club like he did/does with Pogba.

I think this is because Dortmund are a selling club. They want to sell their top players once a season - Sancho, Haaland then Bellingham etc.
There is a rumour that one Dortmund executive threw a chair through the room while negotiating with Raiola. No idea if that is true, but it looks a bit like Raiola got some respect for the guys there, even going so far as calling Watzke a friend now.

Guess he knows quite well what he can say and do and what he can't.

Of course he is. He's hardly going to burn the bridge his player is standing on. He's going to City or Real. Dortmund can't afford him anymore.
After saying what Raiola says, adding that bit of information is negligible in regards to the player's relation with Dortmund.

If he is speaking about that possibility is because that possibility definitely exists.

And if that possibility exists, it is because the timing might favor, a priori, all the three parties involved in the operation.

And since some of the clubs mentioned by Raiola are not concerned with the timing and would prefer the operation to be completed as soon as possible, they should be automatically discarded :D

Riola seems to be pricing Haaland out of a move. Wants €55mil comission, yep comission for himself. Florentino Perez isnt playing ball with this. They want Haaland to partner Mbappe but not at Riola comission fee demands.

Total Haaland package would be in excess of €250mil. Haaland wanting €30mil NET per season.

So to be taken with a pinch of salt then

I would say wanting 55m commission and getting it are not the same - but considering on the open market he would cost in excess of £220m being able to get him for something in the region of half that including commission isnt an entirely unreasonable starting position in a negotiation

Haaland wanting 30m net a season...isnt that apprently what Real were allegedly willing to pay Mbappe - so again not the most unreasonable starting point for a negotiation

put it this way I think if the choice is to see out the rest of his contract at Dortmund or accept say £25M commission and £24m a season that would suit Haaland and his advisers more than staying at Dortmund ... hope not though as I fully expect to see him smashing in Goals for City next season :nervous:

More than just Raiola being an arsehole with his prices such as 55million added signing on fees - the fact that Haaland wants Raiola as his agent makes me not want him as much and doubting him as a player, his mindset, intelligence and personality.

Lukaku, Lingard, Balotelli, Ibrahimovic, Kerlon, Mkhitarayan, Donnurumma and Pogba isn't a group of players I'm exactly feeling I would enjoy at our clubs for different reasons - sometimes not even linked to football.

A total package for him would cost well over 250m euros all things considered including the agent cut and his father's reported cut so only a handful of clubs can feasibly afford it in this climate.

Basically the oil clubs and maybe Real and us. Can't ever see Florentino Perez getting bent over backwards by an agent like that though regardless of the player it's for and by all measures Haaland is a special special talent

I'd be delighted if Madrid, who we seem to be on friendlier terms with these days, got together with us and told Haaland we're not interested as long as the parasite is his agent.

He doesn't strike me as the oil club sort. If he was focused only on money he would have skipped the Dortmund step.

How credible is this podcast? This is absolute bollocks if true.. How are there no regulations against this kind of stuff?

Really don't want us to miss out on Haaland because we have a 37 year old Ronaldo. It would be nuts to miss out on the best young striker in a generation.

Do you think Real can really afford Mbappe AND Haaland? That would require some crazy wages and it doesn't really fit to Reals approach in the last few years.

Problem is Haaland and his agent already think they are bigger than UTD and that is the last thing we need at this moment

We need people who respect us and give everything for the club than coming with big egos.

If they fancy Real/City then its fine...no issues ..we can find someone else.

There is a lack of great strikers atm either young or in their best years. Building around a 37/38 Ronaldo is suicide.

The way Ralf rep[lied Pogba/Martial questions over last few days has been excellent and that is how a club like UTD think about themselves and do things like that.

We want players happy to come here and commited to the cause rather than feeling big about themselves than the club

I think they'll offload Hazard and Bale's contract runs out in the summer. They also offload Varane's and Ramos' wages last summer. I think they will easily afford the wages

They will be able to afford both.
Dont forget they will free up Bale's wages which can easily pay for Mbappe

Isco will leave and maybe sell 1/2 players, so I think they will be able to afford those 2.

I'd love to see a vote about how many would be okay to drop Haaland as a transfer due to raiola.

Not necessarily. The Dortmund transfer now means he can name his price, which wouldn’t have been the case across such a gamut of clubs beforehand. He’s now going to de facto command one of the biggest wages in the game after the signing on fee.

You aint got to worry about that. He wont be coming here. Cost, Raiola and Utd etc. This is never going to happen unless we are stupid enough to be the only one to give in to Raiolas demands.

Yea getting Bale and Hazards wages off their books would be massive towards affording them. Both of those players are currently on the same wages that Haaland will be demanding from most reports while contributing feck all, €30M per season.

If Perez is willing to meet the pizzaman's demands then they could quite possibly field both Haaland and Mbappe to go along with Vinicius Jr. Basically MSN 2.0

I think Madrid es the only club that can twist Raiola, that club attracts players like no other. So if Haaland is one of those players that dream to play for Madrid Raiola is not going to be able to twist it and Florentino knows it.

I’m with Ralph on this. We want players that want to play for United. Haaland and his camp are looking for a pay day. Although he would come in and win us the league, I don’t think it’s worth the outlay.

Every player is looking for a pay day including Salah. You need to pay the market going rate for 50 goals a season striker.

Absolutely but you don’t need to pay 50m in commission to a Cnut :D
i can't comment on rumor but I do know that Barcelona paid about the same to Neymar's dad back in 2013 for Neymar's transfer from Santos and his contract renewal.

Edit
I doubt anyone really believe the cost to sign Haaland is 60m or Mbappe for "free".

One of the Spanish teams is going to pay those taxes and wages. They are used to paying them,
especially if the TV deal goes through.

You will have to pay whatever the competition is willing to pay. Strangely enough people seem to not consider the fact that Raiola isn't the agent that makes the most money, you guys don't actually think that the others don't command massive commissions, in 2013 Barnett was rumoured to have banked more than 20m€ in the Bale transfer.

When Lukaku's transfer fee was £97.5 million + sign on fee + agent fee, i don't think even 150m+ overall cost to sign Haaland is unreasonable. Man City paid Villa £100m for Grealish just back in the summer.

People probably think Mbappe's agent works for free and it won't cost Real Madrid 100m+ to sign him for "free".

The players and the agent will get their money one way or another. The cost of the package won't change.
