"Did you see Fabinho against Red Star & Cardiff?"
How long do players actually have to miss. Is it until they test negative or 10 days?
While I got your point, I don't think a soft criteria, like the team is good enough to go ahead with the fixture, would be appropriate to take such a decision.Chelsea asked for their game to be postponed… see the team they put out?!
In Germany if you aren't vaccinated and we're in contact with positive person, you have to vaccinate at least 10 days and then can test yourself free with a negative test. How long do players actually have to miss. Is it until they test negative or 10 days?
What about if you're vaccinated then test positive? For example Fabinho and Van Dijk tested positive on Thursday December 16th, but are both fully vaccinated. Is it until you show a negative test then?In Germany if you aren't vaccinated and we're in contact with positive person, you have to vaccinate at least 10 days and then can test yourself free with a negative test.
Until when? Cases will probably be even higher in 3 weeks.….& teams don’t want to postpone the league. Madness.
Think it's different depending on vaccination status. In the NFL, if you're vaccinated you don't have to quarantine if you've had a close contact with a positive case, while if you're unvaccinated you have to quarantine for 5 days. If you test positive while vaxxed, you can test every day and return when you return 2 positives in back to back days, while if you test positive while unvaccinated then you quarantine for 10 days minimum. How long do players actually have to miss. Is it until they test negative or 10 days?
i don’t know about footballers but for the public if you test positive you need to isolate for ten days from when symptoms started or your positive test. You don’t have to have a negative test to go back to normal things after those ten days. You can do anything you want as long as you don’t have a high temperature. What about if you're vaccinated then test positive? For example Fabinho and Van Dijk tested positive on Thursday December 16th, but are both fully vaccinated. Is it until you show a negative test then?
Never understood this idea, mate - you'd rather there was no footy than behind closed doors footy? No way - it's nowhere near as good as packed stadiums, but it's still a lot better than nothing. It's still going to end up behind closed doors. Would rather the games were off. Horrible shite.
While I got your point, I don't think a soft criteria, like the team is good enough to go ahead with the fixture, would be appropriate to take such a decision. I don’t either, should be linked to available players (which is what it is now?)
I'm sure Chelsea fans would argue that the team wasn't balanced as they had no striker with Havertz, Werner and Lukaku out. Also Tuchel said he had to take big risks by playing players who just recovered from injuries and covid without being match fit. Some teams may be impacted more in a position than others, luck of the draw. They have other players who can play upfront
Also what if the whole squad is fit but the 3 or 4 keepers are out? Depends if that’s all your goalies (say 18+)
Also it depends on the opponent. Good enough to beat Newcastle? Surely. Good enough to beat Wolves? Maybe. Good enough to beat Man City? Surely not. no, purely on available players
Game cancellation have to be transparent. Thus clear rules have to be applied. Like games ahead as long as 13 or 14 players are available. Think that’s what it now is?
Also the EPL needs to publish at least the number of covid positive players and the number of players who are negative but need to quarantine because they are not vaccinated.they don’t need to (it’s personal/medical info) but I think theg are, from Jan?
If matches have to cancelled because many healthy players need to quarantine for being unvaccinated, the fixture should be counted as a 3:0 loss. This will at least mount some pressure on the clubs to get their players vaccinated.
Until the spread among the players and staff can be controlled and they can be comfortably placed back into bubbles. Is that not obvious? Am I some kind of super brain?Until when? Cases will probably be even higher in 3 weeks.
I couldnt disagree with you more if your name was wrongy mcwrongy face. With no crowds its just utterly soulless. Like watching a crappy practice session. Id rather there was no football than go back to that garbage.Never understood this idea, mate - you'd rather there was no footy than behind closed doors footy? No way - it's nowhere near as good as packed stadiums, but it's still a lot better than nothing.
Ten full days of isolation at home from the onset of symptoms or first positive test (whichever came earlier). Any players who are not fully vaccinated who came into contact with the player who tested positive in the 48 hours before they tested positive, will also have to isolate at home for 10 full days. Meanwhile, vaccinated players do not have to isolate if they come in to contact with someone who has COVID (unless they too test positive). How long do players actually have to miss. Is it until they test negative or 10 days?
I am sorry to hear there is a place in the world that after almost 2 years of covid, they still have to live like that. Sounds like your Baveria handled covid really poorly and people live in fear. they will really struggle to get out of it.Full stadiums and with it full busses and trains, but restrictions everywhere else?
I live in Baveria. All Xmas markets are postponed and there is vaccinated or recovered sometimes + additionally tested in about every non essential business. Mask everywhere anyways.
Unvaccinated you cannot shop in many shops, cannot get a haircut, eat out somewhere, need a daily test to go to work or use busses and trains...
On that background you want big crowds in stadiums?
Who wants to see the league won when a good chunk of games are being played by clubs youth team players? Why should teams who aren't going crazy want to postpone the league? The majority of the positive cases and causes for postponements are down to the clubs with poor vaccination rates or aren't following the guidelines properly.
It can’t be controlled. It’s almost impossible to stop the spread without vaccination. You would have to live like a monk to avoid it while unvaccinated.Until the spread among the players and staff can be controlled and they can be comfortably placed back into bubbles. Is that not obvious? Am I some kind of super brain?
So anti-masker do you also feel the same about vaccines?I am sorry to hear there is a place in the world that after almost 2 years of covid, they still have to live like that. Sounds like your Baveria handled covid really poorly and people live in fear. they will really struggle to get out of it.
I have been to Texas, Florida and no one wears masks since almost a year ago, stadiums, events like in the UK are completely sold out. That is success because people love it and they learned to live with cases and treatments, they have the lowest vaccination rate in the USA and they are not worry about covid anymore.
Your Baveria sounds alot like New York or California. People are moving out of those states in masses to live in the states i mentioned. Even though they have the highest percentaje of vaccination rate, they have severe covid cases even under your Baverias type restrictions, people live in fear, it is a mess, It is ridiculous at this point.
Back to the Premier League, in my opinion it is a success when you have full stadiums and almost no one wears masks anymore unlike Spain fo example, that is normal life and should be aplauded.
Like i said, hats off to the Premier League.
you were lucky to drawBit of a shitshow this. We win that game yesterday if we had our regular midfield in place. Hard enough competing with city’s oil squad with two world class players in each position without idiot refs and no proper protocols in place.
So some teams essentially get a break whilst others plough on, teams like city getting a break last season then winning every game damages the integrity of the competition. Fine though, we’ll just let the most financially doped squads reap the biggest benefits.
What is it with you lot and talking about "integrity" of the competition?Bit of a shitshow this. We win that game yesterday if we had our regular midfield in place. Actually they don't. You have to change them every 2 hours according to the doctors I know. If you don't, you run the risk of bacterial infection and other "amazing benefits". Now ask yourself this: does the average Joe know about this?So anti-masker do you also feel the same about vaccines?
spain take it seriously because the country was ravaged with the first round of covid so I don’t think it’s fair to say they are doing it wrong. What’s wrong with wearing a face mask? Doctors and nurses wear them every day for long hours saving lives. Are they wrong?
texas is full of strange people I wouldn’t be holding them as the world example
Whether they wear one mask or several they are still wearing them to protect themselves and others which is the point he was making.Actually they don't. You have to change them every 2 hours according to the doctors I know. If you don't, you run the risk of bacterial infection and other "amazing benefits". I know that, I’m not saying they wear the same one for hours on end. I’m saying they wear face masks all day. But for the pendants amongst you I don’t mean literally the same oneActually they don't. All your previous posts on Covid paint quite a telling pictureI am sorry to hear there is a place in the world that after almost 2 years of covid, they still have to live like that. it makes me wonder where we rank as a team in terms of player vaccination rates? I’ve a suspicion we might be in the bottom half out of the 20 clubsSo Wolves and Leeds have announced that their squad is fully vaccinated. Will become embarrassing for teams which are left out when more teams come out and declare the same
I did say I do not know if they causing bad influences. What I wanted to point across is that a young player coming through is easily influenced by the more senior players - like how easily Rashford was influenced by Lingard coming through. How is Lingard seen as a bad influence? There’s many reports of him being a good influence in the dressing room. He looks after his sick parent at home, and his little sister rather than partying, and worked his bollox off on loan to prove himself
Yes it can. What do you think the PL was doing last season? We could all stop it tomorrow if we were so inclined to make some hard choices. And just to be accurate, control doesnt mean stop.It can’t be controlled. It’s almost impossible to stop the spread without vaccination. You would have to live like a monk to avoid it while unvaccinated.
That’s the problem here. It’s not the first variant where players went to New Year’s Eve celebrations or host sex parties and get away with it. Bubbles won’t work
Not sure why you're basing your argument using America as an example. This is a country that is debating whether kids should be wearing kevlar vests in schools...I am sorry to hear there is a place in the world that after almost 2 years of covid, they still have to live like that. Ah so you're an advocate for the "let's all just get covid and let millions and millions die as long as I can have my FREEDOM, MURICA FECK YEAH" route. I read they will scrap FA Cup 3rd and 4th round replays and make the League Cup Semi-Finals to 1 leg.And what after the festive fixtures? It can be postpone for couples of weeks as some sources say?
Oh come on. That's just mentalI read they will scrap FA Cup 3rd and 4th round replays and make the League Cup Semi-Finals to 1 leg.
Pretty sensible, just hold it at a neutral venue (but not Wembley)I read they will scrap FA Cup 3rd and 4th round replays and make the League Cup Semi-Finals to 1 leg.
