Interesting how he setup this game with Bruno suspended. During his post match interview Rangnick mentioned that he was thinking of starting Cavani in the last match already, curious as to who to make way. My preference would be
    DGG
    Dalot, Varane Magguire, Shaw
    McFred
    DVD Sancho
    Greenwood Cavani

With Bruno out I’m keen to see if DVB can step up and make an impact.

I was eager to see a press under Ralf like everybody but the biggest concern to me in the last games has been the sheer lack of control and ability to retain possession and sustain attacks. I’d like to see some of the latter.

If we play like we have in the last two games then my concerns will only grow further.

    my guess today is:-

    De Gea

    AWB Varane* Maguire Shaw

    Matic Fred

    Sanco Vdb*

    Greenwood* Cavani

Not sure the ones I marked with * will start, Bailly might start ahead of Varane, as for VdB, it could be Rashford preferred at the left-sided #10 role, CR7 might get the nod ahead of Greenwood, though I think it's best to rest him.

If Donny can’t get a start today he should be knocking down the door to leave in Jan. I’m not a huge fan of his but surely he starts later especially with Bruno being suspended. Lingard should not be starting over him that is for sure. I’d be more vexed if Rashford does play than Donny not mind.

McT did well in that deep role second half against Newcastle. If he is fit, get VDB in there with him.

Any match going fans, early reminder to get your phones charged. 8:15pm kick off in Manchester, the lads are going to need your flashlights! If they can’t train in the dark, imagine asking them to play a crucial PL game in it.

With Bruno out I’d like to see Donny get a start. He could work quite well in that 10 position, will help especially in retaining possession which we’ve been terrible at recently.

I imagine DVB is nailed on to start if only because its the last game before the transfer window opens and if he's benched again he'll probably push for a move in January.

I'd drop the 4222 and go with 433, especially without Bruno, makes it easier to play more of a 3 in midfield. Also hope to see lots of changes from Newcastle, in fact i'd drop the lot of them

    Back 5

    Matic
    VdB
    Hannibal

    Sancho
    Cavani
    Elanga

Be gobsmacked to see that but would be pleased to see Hannibal play, and Elanga doesnt deserve to be behind Rashford or Greenwood in the wide positions at the moment.

Let's all talk about those not selected for the squad and the hope they will all be gone soon.

This should be more than enough to get the job done at home but to my mind that’s a 4 3 3 and that’s what we should be playing if we want to take control of games.

Please no more Rashford until it’s mutually agreed that he puts in a shift at the very least.

If I was Ralf I’d be raging at these instant player leaks and looking to stamp my authority on the group asap.

Say what you want about Ronaldo but he doesn’t work hard enough, he needs to be used as a bit part sub.

It’s really messed up our entire system, Bruno under Ole had to play a lot closer to him which disrupted our play.

Im sure we could still press this well in a 4231 or 433, the reason we can’t is because of Ronaldo. He’s a great player and a real asset but we need to use him the way which is best for the team
not best for Ronaldo. The whole
Needs to be working together all the time!

I'm all for dropping him once Lindelof is back, unless his form picks up. But I don't think Burnley is the game to drop him. Dealing with high, long balls is one of his strengths
Yes but he's awful at second balls & he often allows the ball a bounce or two in the box. He needs to be dropped in my opinion. Burnley or not. Lindelof should be fit, he was on the bench vs Newcastle I think? Get him on.

Not optimistic for any upcoming games until Ralf hopefully brings in a couple of players in January. I think we need two midfielders, a defensive player and a creative player.

we all want to see Donny, it will be Lingard instead. which could still be an improvement over Bruno in that role.

I think Ronaldo should be rested for Wolves.

    Would like to see:
    Ddg
    Dalot Maguire Varane Shaw
    VDB Fred
    Sancho Rashford
    Greenwood Cavani

Lindelof has covid and is isolating. He won't be in the squad today

Just please for the love of god drop Rashford. Give his spot to a midfielder or winger that will actually show some aggression and drive. That would instantly make us a tougher opponent off the ball. If we can sort ourselves off the ball the final ball will hopefully come with added possession and bite. Can’t afford to carry players who lose the ball almost every time they try something and then make absolutely no effort to get it back. It’s a team sport after all.

    Dalot - Maguire - Varane - Shaw

    Fred - Matic

    DVB - Sancho

    Ronaldo - Cavani
I can see Ralf going with this. If Matic fades in the second half bring in McTominay. With Bruno out Donny is the obvious replacement. Cavani is vast upgrade on Greenwood.

It’s a sad state of the squad that we have to put out the best XI against fukking Burnley.

What is weird with resting a nearly 37 year old striker at home vs Burnley when we played three days ago and will play again in three days?

He can come on for the last 20-30 minutes if required and will then start vs Wolves.

It think it would be smart, not weird. But tbf I would trust Rangnick a lot more to do the correct thing than myself.;)

Bruno and Sancho lost the ball more than him on Monday and he won more corners and created more chances than Ronaldo or Greenwood. He pressed more than all 4 as well.

He was shit but so were plenty of others that you didn't notice because they were completely anonymous.

It is weird. He’s 37 with the body of a 27 year old and he’s the only reason we aren’t in a relegation scrap.
