Italian clubs love a freebie too, Juve signed Ramsey & Rabiot on a free, Inter signed Di Vrij & Calhanoglu, Barca got Depay, Eric Garcia, Aguero on a free, Madrid got Alaba on a free, these are fairly recent examples, it happens a lot everywhere.

The point is any top player in free agency will be in high demand by top clubs.
Pogba really should sign that contract then.

Probably he should.

but, perhaps Raiola can get him to Madrid, Modric might renew or might not, Bale & Isco are definitely leaving in the summer if not in January, and if they can shift Hazard in the summer, they might have just enough room to get Pogba & Mbappe, I'm speculating here though.

There is also PSG, he might go there too.

Not many options if he wants a big contract, the current offer from United is his best option probably.

nowhere near , Pogba was a cog in that french team.

you can argue harry maguire was one of the best defenders in europe after the euros. https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/england-euro-2020-player-ratings-b1883314.html

how many saying that now?

my point is never compare international tournament to club football . ever.
Except he has done it in multiple tournaments including being fecking vital when they won the World Cup.

Are you saying he’s a bad player? You must be.

Interesting that Ralf is looking for a QB type player. Surely that's perfect for Pogba

I couldnt give a feck how he plays with other teams hes been pretty average here. As many poor as good games. Time to take the contract off the table and say bye bye imo.

I'm sure he’s meant to be out until February.
Think he will surprise a few of his detractors on here.
Maybe he will but he isn’t commited to us. He’s waiting to see what offers come his way and if nothing better comes up he’ll stay. He could of signed by now, we offered him a extension in July.

You mean he’ll knuckle down and put in 3 half decent performances on the trot?
That would be a fecking surprise.
Judging by this thread 95% of Utd fans with an iq larger than their shoe size want shot of him so hopefully pogba will do the decent thing and jog on to another club (pun intended)

He would be ideal if he could retain the ball under pressure which he cannot. You put him in MF tonight and he would get caught in possession umpteen times.
Its all "if" with Pogba; if he can play under pressure, if he doesnt disappear, if he dosent give the ball away, if he has the "right" players around him, if the opposition give him time and space, if hes in the mood, if hes not sulking, if he can string 3/4 half decent games together. Thats a lot of "ifs" brother.

I fully expect him to come back and dazzle for 3-4 games, and then revert to his normal self after that.
Thatd be good since either he or Cavani were the last outfield players to dazzle for 3-4 games, that being last season. You’d have to go back a long way to find someone outside of those two who dazzled for 3-4 games.

He was probably the last player to put 3 decent performances together on the trot for us….Leeds, Southampton, Wolves. The first two being outstanding and the Wolves game being decent. Followed up by another very good performance against Newcastle. Probably Cavani before that, then Pogba again about three times from January to the end of last season.

the problem is then after the 3-4 games, when he throws the towel in and his fat agent comes out giving it the big one, and the circus starts all over again.

If the board, senior management, or Ralf would prefer him to stay, they should still take the offer off the table and leave the door open to discuss a new contract on much lower terms. Pogba shouldn’t even be offered what he’s currently on.
I’d rather he just went ASAP.

He deserves criticism for his agent and the fact that he hasn’t signed the contract, to some extent, he clearly has his best interests at heart which while fair, the club committed a lot of money to him and he’s left on a free before. Maybe it’s just modern football.

That being said he gets singled out by fans and media alike. He’s been made the scapegoat for our failings in his time here despite being one of our better performers.

There’s an issue there. On the other side, polar opposite I saw two player of 2021 threads, one on Facebook and one on Twitter and the first replies on both named Bruno as our player of the year for 2021. Which shows that it doesn’t matter how each perform. The narrative is set.

My biggest concern is his injury record, i can't see how it's OK to make a player our highest paid employee when he misses a third of every season lately.

Can we even sell him in January if he is injured till February ? I certainly hope so.
Who would pay to sign him in January when they can have him for free in june? Its gonna be PSG or Madrid, no one else can offer him.the wages he wants, especially not juventus. He's just going to have to be patient and wait to see if after Perez signs Mbappe and maybe Haaland there is still money and desire in the kitty to sign pogba as well.

I think with his injury record and wage demands, agent fees etc teams will wait for the free transfer. Its an expensive package even without a transfer fee and its not without risk.

Like most United fans I was excited when Pogba rejoined, but that joy was short lived as it soon became clear that although he had all the ability in the world he had an attitude which stunk the place out. Time after time he would play OK for a handful of matches, even throwing in the odd outstanding performance, but then, as if he thought he had "done his bit" the rot would set in along with the sulks, moans, groans and tantrums. We've watched this play out for what seems an eternity with his agent telling us that he didnt want to play for United, or that he was unhappy, or disillusioned, or wanted to play for a team which won trophies, none of which was ever confirmed or denied by Pogba.
To have a player of Pogbas undoubted ability could only be an asset, but ability isnt everything, a Manchester United player needs a certain attitude, something which, in fairness to Pogba, he is not alone in being without. In short, the entire Pogba episode has been a wasted opportunity and a waste of money and should be brought to an end with his release, even if it means he goes on a "free".

That would have to be the best transfer window in the history of football if madrid get mbappe, pogba and haaland for under 70 million, not just talent wise but marketing wise as well.

Apparently Pogba is shite though so I’ve no idea why Madrid want him …

I don’t care where he goes. As long as he doesn’t sign for us. He’s had his chance, no one can say that he’s been a success.

In the right set up he is definitely a great asset and madrid got the best out of a somewhat similar player in di Maria, who was another class talent that magically became underwhelming at united like a lot of attacking/flair players that have joined us post fergie.

Could see Riaola trying to negotiate with Madrid that if they want Haaland then they got to do a deal for Pogba as well.

That way he final makes good his promise to Pogba to get him to Madrid and of course he (Riaola) would be quids in.

I wanted him to stay before but nah. I'm done. Injured for half the season and constant drama around him both on and off the pitch when he is fit. Just end the circus already and get a player who is less flashy but a better fit for us.

What i'm asking is, can we sell him if he is injured? I've never heard of anyone being sold with an injury.

This is my annoyance with the current state of the club. Purely on football how can Pogba be offered the same or more than his current contract? A large proportion of his salary is because of his Adidas branding and social media. Players should be earning the salary based on football talent alone.

Pogba needs to come back ASAP. This midfield sucks without him. The transition from defense to attack through the middle is almost non existent. Most of it is going through the wings even when there's space in the midfield for one of the CMs to drive through. Whether he stays long term is a different question but he's needed this season.

Pogba is all that is wrong with the club in the post Fergie era. Overpaid and underdelivering. Poor body language, blaming everyone else, playing well one game out of 5 and letting his agent rather than his feet do the talking.
