Not sure if it's old or new but just watched a 3 part documentary on Sky about Allen Stanford, I only knew him as the bloke who funded the $20m game between England and West Indies many years ago. I somehow never knew he was a conman ponzi scheme artist now jailed for life for fraud. Anyway, interesting doc I'd highly recommend it.

If you thought Joe Root’s 50 => 100 conversion wasn’t great, check out Bavuma’s.

Bangladesh have had a terrific Test match in NZ. Just need 40 runs in the 2nd innings to get a really impressive win.

Biggest in their history surely? Amazing result.
Yeah has to be, certainly in Tests & would be a massive upset. Taken from CricInfo:

New Zealand haven't lost at home for 17 Tests. They've won eight series in a row at home since 2017 - if they lose this, that streak comes to an end. It could also be Bangladesh's first win against New Zealand in New Zealand in any format.

Wow. One of the biggest if not the biggest upset in test matches history.

Marco Jensen will be a star btw. This south Africa pace attack is excellent.

It’s brilliant. Peterson looks a decent batter. If they find a couple more batters, they’re going to be a good side.

Need to replace van Dussen in middle order, but I think Saffers look on the up. They'll wreck quite a lot of teams in South Africa on these pitches.

We've become masters of scrapping together enough runs from bits of contribution to put up just enough

Joe Root has more runs than our 3 + 4 + 5 combined this year

You can't slag off Pujara and Rahane at least today.

They did the same thing in England, scored when it looked like they were going to be dropped with one more failure.

Yea - they played great

We need 30 more here. Vihari needs to smack a few here. 15 not out not going to win any games

Jansen giving it to Bumrah - great stuff

Surprised a bit - they played for Mumbai together

Good start for SA, should be a great watch with a result tomorrow

Edit: Lord Shardul strikes

It is inexplicable to the average fan like me how he keeps getting wickets

His batting is fantastic though.

I don't get it either, there was an article on cricinfo comparing him with Botham. I've not watched him so can't comment.

A lot of understating of SA's position in the media. I think it's 70-30 in their favour.

Pitch playing okay? You'd have to fancy them from here if it is.

It's got a bit of uneven bounce(like a ball every 6-7 overs does something funny). The playing conditions are very bowler friendly - it was moving, and now in SA's innings it was turning very well for Ashwin surprisingly.

India held a very similar position today(Pujara/Rahane put us ahead), but the team gave it away as a whole.

SA know exactly what's in front of them, and more importantly, are showing greater discipline than our middle order. I view them as favourites for that reason.

We do have a great bowling attack(minus the injured Siraj who is bowling below himself), so I give us a chance, but SA batted fantastic today.

SA are definitely favourites right now. We're trying to many different things in search of wickets and that isn't working, while SA slowly gathered the runs.

Stark difference between our innings and SA's. We only batted for 60 overs. Even Rahane and Pujara score 50s due to exceptional scoring rate for a test match otherwise per norm they would have scored 30 or 40 at best. If SA can bat ~ 80 overs in 4th innings then they deserve to win.

India lost the match in the first innings itself. Question mark will be raised towards rahul's captaincy and our bowlers but the real issue was always the batting. If not for Ashwin's 46 , we would have been bundled out for less than 150. I hope this marks the end for Rahane and Pujara. We have been winning inspite of those two and now time has come to say bye to them. This is a huge opportunity missed.

Long way away from the old days of Dean Failgar. Gritty stuff.

Still find it funny he was the worst Top Order batter in the line up 10 odd years ago, and now he's the best one.

Agreed. Their second innings should not give them another chance. It’s time to remove at least one of them and inject freshness into the team.

Correct, and it's been the case for a long time now.

That's a good comeback win from SA, I didn't really think they had it in them.

Thankfully some good competitive test cricket being played elsewhere in the world currently.

 if you think either will be dropped for last test. Vihari will make way for Kohli and Ishant will come in for Siraj. That's about it.

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)
India will be very disappointed there. Again it’s the batting that has let them down, can’t rely on the bowling to blow the opposition away every innings. If India can get their batting sorted and clicking as a unit they’d be some team. Congrats to South Arica, they chased that down comfortably in the end.
