Gaz. Is a Mewling Quim.
That shouldn’t be the case. Umpires have to be completely impartial in their decisions no matter how petulant and annoying the fielding team is.
That is asking them to not be human though. These things are often subconscious, it’s no different to certain footballers no longer getting calls when they’ve been diving all over, it might not be actively thought of but it does have an effect

I'm better than Messi (even though I'm not)

Could be a factor. Umpiring decisions are so heavily scrutinised these days they might make an effort to stop themselves slipping into that.

Terrible losers*.
*if they do go on to lose

Kohli is under pressure anyway.. seems like a desperate attempt to fire his team up and/or deflect..

Why so much chat between deliveries. It is totally unnecessary and it is clearly instigated by Kohli as tactical. How many times do you need to say 'Come on' after a dot ball or shout 'Ohhh!' when nothing much happened.
I don't think this is abnormal. We just hear it more easily these days with stump mics turned up more.

The behaviour of the Indian players was a disgrace yesterday. Supersport has nothing to do with Hawkeye, they simply relay the images.

Horrible petulant behavior by the team yesterday.

Also it was the selection of rahane and Pujara which lost us the match. Get fecked.

Kohli needs to be banned for a test or two. Tiring stuff.

Ban Rahane and Pujara too.

Our bowling has been terribly unlucky here. Combine that with our batting being terribly shit, and it's another opportunity to get an overseas series win gone down the drain.

Pujara and rahane single handedly costing India the series. Cowardly selection this.

Never been a fan of Umesh yadav or Shardul. Umesh always has a crap ball in an over in him and leaks runs. For a bowler who is 34, still bowls like a 20 year old rookie. Shardul has a knack of picking wickets but I don't think he is good enough. Kohli's lack of trust towards Ashwin in overseas condition is baffling. What's the point of picking him if you are not going to bowl him, better pick Vihari. There is some spin and bounce and I feel kohli missed a trick here. Overall a very poor show by the team.

Brilliant win by SA. Truly deserved and much needed for the growth of their cricket.

Another really good game & well played SA. Only watched a little bit of the live action, but enjoyed this series.

If anyone had said we would win this series after QDK quit after the first Test, I would have called them crazy.
Elgar or Rabada for man of the series but Peterson, Bavuma and Jansen were really good as well.
Massive win for the Proteas, hopefully the rebuild begins here, batsmen need to build on this.

Only sour notes are QDK's retirement and Olivier being rather ordinary in his return. I think Nortjie should come back in when fit. Not convinced the balance of this team is right, need to see Jansen do more with the bat.

Jansen is a world class talent.

Olivier looked rather garbage on return. What the feck happened to his pace. Can easily play a batsman ahead of Maharaj and ask Markham to bowl offspin.

Jeez, that’s a shocker. He’s packed in 3 of the 4 captaincy posts he held in the last few months. It’s been a really difficult period to play cricket in and I hope he’s ok and we can enjoy a few more years of him batting at his best.

All 4. Quit rcb as well. Guessing having a kid changed his priorities.

I'm guessing Rahul's going to be the next test captain. India will flush away their next generation of talented batsman by backing that horse.

His batting has suffered for a while IMO. Not having the strain of captaincy is best for that, I think.

Cricket is the only sport I can think of where traditionally there was separation between the coaching staff and the selectors. For me it always seemed very old fashioned and drummed up images of a bunch of old out of touch guys picking a team/squad. Moving to the situation where the coach picked the team made a lot of sense to me because this is how it works in almost any other sport and it provides much clearer lines of responsibility. However, I'm now seeing calls to go back to how it was with a dedicated selector.

Why is cricket so different in this respect? Why shouldn't a national coach be able to select the side they're going to take into battle?
