I hate to shit on such a young player, but I don’t really see any discernible traits in Elanga’s game to suggest he has it. He’s pretty quick and he works hard, which puts him ahead of most of our current crop on that side of things, but the rest of the game?

There is literally nothing positive you could say about that.

Brighton should be at least 3-0 up
Why? Because they should score on every chance they get and if United miss a chance like Sancho's well that's just a miss? Tell me why Brighton shouldn't have conceded.

Brighton missed and their finishing sucks. If United missed their chances they get called out on it but Brighton gets a pass. That open header should have been put away. They couldn't ask for a better chance and they still couldn't score.

how can teams like southampton, burnley, brighton and the likes bully us this much on the pitch! We are so bad on the ball. No organisation what so ever. Move the ball and hope for the best
It’s just how comfortable these teams are on the ball at OT which stuns me.

Fair fecks to the crowd for the boos.

During the game I was thinking to myself our fans are too damn loyal.

Playing like the away side at OT vs fecking Brighton

Well done Maguire and Co. It’s took you less than 3 months to down tools this time.
The most dislikeable bunch of players in 40 years I’ve supported United. Absolute bottle jobs the lot of them.
I'm sick of the lot of them bar a small scattering including DDG, Varane and Sancho.

I'd personally strip Maguire of the captaincy, he's one of the worst at hiding with cowardly displays, error after error. I said at the last game not a single one of them takes responsibility. No one stands up to be counted. They just slump along putting in the bare minimum

But of course that's OK as they'll apologise to the fans on social media and still pick up their massive wages....

Maybe Ralph should put together a team from Red Cafe, least the people in it would actually run and appreciate the chance to play for United....

Was there really booing at half time? Minority or majority?
    They were definitely audible enough.

Not sure what we can do as our forward line is full of average (or less) players bar Sancho who is not having the best of games, our midfield is similarly poor bar Bruno who is not having the best of games himself. I suppose Rashford and Pogba coming on against tired legs at some point is promising.

It's really strange how we've gone from having a bloated squad to having very few options.

I suppose in losing Amad, Greenwood, DVB, and Martial, 4 players who can make an attacking contribution in one window, it's no wonder

This current team, with these players, are uncoachable.

More important than any transfer budget in the summer, the next manager needs to be given full and total control over who he sees has a future at this club and let them get rid of anyone, regardless of how big a name they are. If it pisses off the sponsors, tough.

Not pressing seems to be the instructions considering Rangnick has mentioned that he doesn’t think fitness level is on that level.

This team is clueless at both.

Been bullying us since Saf days. Thats what you get for not buying proper midfielders.

Only one word comes to mind after that half-cowardly. This United team is just afraid of the ball. Every action seems filled with panic, bad touches and rushed passes everywhere. We've resorted to playing like a relegation side whose one creative outlet is playing near the halfway line trying to find a striker who won't win a foot race and the other in trying to beat two players on the wing to put in some kind of cross. It's all so poor.

Comparatively, Brighton look like prime Barcelona. Every single one of their 11 players look competent on the ball. They are pressing high, moving the ball around with ease, knowing we don't have the technical ability to play it out or dribble out of the back and have no out ball to trouble them either.

We simply can't carry two immobile players both in the front and back, really missing Varane here. We need Pogba and Rashford right now because it's only a matter of time before they score.

Yeah he doesn't really have anything to his game. He's like a McNair or Blackett sort of random young player getting a run of games because of a lack of options and that's pretty much it. Nowhere near talented enough and I don't even see premier league level potential in him.

One of the very few instances post Ole where I'm watching the game.

I thought Rangnick was the Godfather of pressing? Why are we so limp, scared and tactically clueless? Brighton by far the better team, pass through our midfield and get to our box without even trying. We have no clue what to do with a football once we have it. Not like we do anything without it, either. Everyone backing off, a half arsed late challenge or two. This looks even worse than Ole in his last days.
The opposite for me, I've watched every every game since RR and this is the first time it's reminded me of Ole type football.

Fred is pushing up to high and our back line isn't pressing. Bruno needs to sit in that 10 not move allover the shop.

Just looking really really poor, I'd be well pissed if I paid to watch this game.

Behind your humour I can see the anger building up. That's where I want our players right now. I want them to be really fecking angry. Absolutely apoplectic with rage. I want them to fecking destroy the opposition.

I want Roy Keane to charge onto the pitch and headbutt Ronaldo to assert dominance. Well, maybe that's a bit far but I want something more than whatever the hell this choreographed performance is meant to be.
i’m way beyond anger now. i’m at the acceptance phase. we’re shit and the whole structure of the club is the problem. new manager, new shiny player or two wont make a difference. the mentality of the club is all wrong. we’re not trying to be the best at everything, we’re just trying to be relevant enough to stay profitable whilst keeping costs to a minimum. there was a lot of truth in moyes saying we should aspire to be like city. blood money not withstanding, they’ve created a club that wants the best facilities, the best youth set up, the best players.

we’ve fallen so far behind them that i don’t see us catching them any time soon. we’re a 50 year old milf looking for tit jobs and cheek fillers to try and make our ex husband jealous after he ran off with a 25 year old scorcher. embarrassing.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Rangnick just straight up resigns after the game declaring the players frauds and the club rotten.

None of that absolves Rangnick for the terrible performances. What’s he here for if not to improve what we have? Anybody can pick a team.
How many managers do we need to get before we decide the players simply aren’t very good? Say we got Ten Haag, if you don’t give him any signings we’ll be in a similar boat. It doesn’t matter wha ya scribbled on the whiteboard in the dressing room if the squads not much good. I’ve said previously I’m not a massive fan of Ralf, but I’m not deluded when it comes to the quality of this bunch of players either.

For all of the criticism that he got for his team being 'boring', at least we looked like we knew how to control the midfield in his games.
Letting go of LVG for Mourinho was a huge mistake that not many really understand.
