Why are people talking huge hits for this game week instead of a FH?
Im planning on using it to stack up on DGW players and then just maybe take a small hit for GW27 to get around .

Am I missing something haha

What's all this chatter about bench boosting? I thought Salah TC was the obvious play this GW.

Jota off at HT. Injury?

Glad I held off my transfer. Bruno might end up staying and Jota going for Salah.

I've actually started to seriously consider FH in 27 now. Means I can load up on Arsenal who miss that gw but play in 30 to go alongside 3 X Liverpool. Any hits I'd make would be hits I'd need to get a team out then anyway.

The fixtures in 27 suit getting in 3 X Burnley who you then don't have to hold on to, plus premiums from City, United, Spurs who have great fixtures and a smattering of Southampton v Norwich.

I'm seriously considering it. Will probably follow the Salah TC crowd , but I've somehow ended up with a randomly strong bench following weeks of barley scraping a team together!

Thought for about two days of wildcarding early this weekend only to do a cost benefit analysis that I might gain 8-16 pts by subbing in all Arse players, so dropped doing the wildcard and just continued the game doing nothing

This game is a real timewaster. Think I'll wildcard around gw31 when Leicester's fixtures become more clear and Vardy may be back.

Current team
Ramsdale
Laporte - Cancelo - Robertson - Lamptey - Digne
Salah - Sterling - Bruno - Gray - Brownhill
King -Antonio - 4.4guy

in top 30k atm and got WC, fh x 2, tc and bb available  Things will get juicy from gw 31-38 for me

Sounds a plan, got two of them as well (plus other chips) so starting to run out of gws to use them (at decent points) if keep too much longer

Can't use FH and TC is the issue. But you are kinda right for the massive hits ... 20pts is what you should be aiming for as a worth for a chip - give or take.... 20 + (whatever your hit is, so -4/8 is reasonable, above is massive risk).

I've gone with FH, I struggle to see a massive haul from Salah.... 20 and above at least and I need to take hits to bring in Arsenal players, so it was either FH or BB for me.

But now I want Laca in... so that means Pope in for Ramsdale and some tweaking. Ugh.

I had it in mind but

  • This is easily the best TC option. While there will be more BB GWs like 36.
  • Even in that BB there's Dalot who can concede, Ronaldo who can be benched for a 1 pointer, Weghorst can only play one game, Olise can be rotated etc.
  • I'm free hitting 30 so will be bringing in players who blank in 30 hence doubling in 36 so I will likely have a full dgw bench.
I get the thinking. I still may TC Salah but don’t think it’s an easy choice if you have a couple of doublers sat on your bench and others with good fixtures.

On paper Salah looks great but I’m not convinced he’ll start both games - obviously still a good option.

I’m thinking of loading up on Arsenal as well and then FHing in GW27. Will then dead end my team with probably 9-10 players in GW30 and then WC in 31.

I quite like the idea of being rid of the bench boost as it’ll allow me to distribute my team properly rather than trying to balance a deeper squad.

Jota out? Probably not worth it for a double as even if he miss one game he is still better than the alternatives.

Hmmm. Jota > Salah and bring in an extra Liverpool defender surely makes sense?
Not sure a Pool defender is worth it if you do not free hit in 27.

It is one hit and then one to get them out.

For me since I do want to sell Reguilon anyway it might work as I think Robertson is worth 4 points over Ben Mee.

The way I see it is, would I consider using the TC for a single game week at home against Norwich or Leeds? I would say yes.

I don't know what I'm doing. But I just took a -8. Varane to Robertson. Jota out for Saka.
If you do not free hit in 27 then that looks to be a bad move.

You need to take them out again I guess or play with 10.

I guess double this time is worth it?

Agree with that.

That’s not the whole question though - it’s whether it’s a sufficiently good TC option to pass over a good bench boost opportunity if the whole of your squad has good fixtures (including perhaps bench players with doubles).

There will be other TC opportunities down the line and even though this one looks the best on paper it might not turn out so much better than the others as to justify skipping the bench boost.

Jota injured before a double. Sigh.
At least quite a few still have him in my league.

Will give it a last min assessment of a free hit.
Doublers in Kane, Son, Reguillon, Tierney/Ramsdale, Arse mid, Lacazette and retweak the Liverpool link to have Robertson as the 3rd player could well outscore a surely rested to some extend Salah?

I almost never make early transfers. This week I did Sala and Weghorst in for Foden and Watkins. Now Weghorst is injured and apparently Jota as well. Don't know what to do now.

Very typical about Jota. I don’t see how he’ll play at the weekend if his ankle was as swollen as Klopp made out, plus there’s no need to play him through injury with the players they’ve got available.

That Jota injury really is annoying isn't it.

If I don't have tunnel vision over the doubles the sensible move is Jota > Salah and Watkins > Broja which only leaves me with 5 doublers (Foster, TAA, Salah, Olise, Dennis) but good fixtures for sgw players like Cucurella, Bruno, Bowen, Foden and Broja. I also don't have to worry about 27 as much and have decent captain options there in Bruno, Foden, Cancelo and Broja. It does though remove a GW30 player which could bite me in the arse further down the line.

Option B is Saka and Salah in for Bruno and Jota which gives me 6 doublers and loads of extra funds to turn some dead wood like Lowton into anyone, although probably not an Arsenal defender as then I'd be carrying 4 blankers into 27.

Decisions, decisions...

The Jota thing is annoying, as I already did Ronaldo to Kane so only have one transfer left (planned Bruno to Salah).

I might just carry on as planned.

Is Jota likely to miss both games? I don't mind that as my first sub is Cucurella. I also don't mind if Jota plays one game as he can haul against either Norwich or Leeds. My worry is if he misses one game and then comes on for 10 minutes in the other...

Im sitting here nice and relaxed knowing im using a FH this week.

I have Jota but not in my FH team so him being possibly out is a good thing for me for this GW.

People not triple capping Salah are wild. Absolutely wild.

Has Salah blanked three in a row before? He's playing every minute, believe it. Norwich at Anfield (Anfield!) who just conceded 4 (in good form, lol) to City on their own turf and then Leeds (at Anfield again!) who ship 4 practically every game and just made relegation battling Everton look like world beaters.

Its like a 60 point swing. Madness. The only reason you wouldn't do it is because 'it's too good to true', 'surely the stars can't align this perfectly' etc. Don't overthink it...

First thoughts on potential Jota injury is that it would probably mean Bruno and Jota OUT and Salah and Saka IN (2x FTs)

But that fecks me for gw27. So I'd almost certainly need to use my first FH there. Was planning to navigate around it but as with those transfers above I'd be missing Ramsdale, White, Saka, TAA, Salah and Rudiger for gw27.
FH would allow me to focus on brining in United (v WAT), Spurs (v lee), Palace (v BUR) and maybe a few Burnley players for their double (cry, LEI).
