There was nothing wrong with the decisions whatsoever. Jota was comfortably onside, as much as he looked off in the first angle, but then that's why there is VAR isn't there? And the VAR angle and line showed him clearly on. It was right not to give a penalty, would have been wrong to give one. Time to stop moaning, honestly it's a bit embarrassing. Fachts.
"Comfortably onside?"

I wonder how you got to see that

Pretty much everyone but you is questioning that decision.

 65% possession. 14 shots at goal. 7 on target. Won the match as we should have. Simple
How many chances did forest have?? Cup football if it doesn't go for 1 team it goes for the other . Any team could have won it in 2nd half.

Still haven’t seen an angle which shows that Jota was onside , all we have seen is a random line . Surely if that’s the moment which decides the game then fans deserve to see a better view of it

Never a pen imho, but I didn't see the line from Jota's shoulder only the defenders. Obviously not tight when the check was so quick. Forest were game but like Saints earlier, when the big chances come you have to take them. They had 2 and missed them both. Jota was poor but in the end he's the match winner.

Good game, harsh on Forest but you have to take the chances that come and those 2 misses were criminal.
You lot better not feck up against them in the semi final, or in the league game. I can't fecking stand either team, but Liverpool winning a quadruple and going level with united on titles won would be pretty horrible.

Man City and Bayern are the only two sides left in world football that can stop them winning the quadruple. I can’t feckin believe this is happening aaahhhh!

Not gonna lie, I'll be hiding behind the couch for both games, we're a little off form and while Liverpool aren't in top gear either they have more match winners. They've now won 10 in a row, to win the quad they'll likely have to win at least 15 of the next 17. Even for Liverpool winning 25 of 27 is a big ask. I can see them match your treble and play a rotated side vs City in the FA Cup if they win the league game.

To be fair, Tuchel is well capable of plotting a win against them should they meet in either cup competition left. Chelsea battered them in the League Cup Final and should have scored a hatful. No need to panic just yet…

Like keano says, the guy has to run into the keeper lift it over him or just run into keeper full on its a pen then. Ask Jota he had an even easier pen given for him few weeks ago, strange that !!.

"Comfortably onside"

feck me.

a) the defenders’ elbows count as playing onside now? Since when? I thought only body parts which can play the ball count?

b) look at Jota’s feet position compared to the Forest defender’s. He’s a good foot or so offside by that measure alone.

I don’t believe in conspiracies and so I think it’s most likely onside of VAR says so but I think it’s pretty silly that in 2022 we get absolutely no angles that actually show it

Your viewpoint would probably make sense if VAR/officials have never got decisions wrong before. All you need to do is open your eyes and look at the footage. Clear as day, Jota was offside. I'm not sure the most loyal Liverpool fan would be able to defend that awful decision. I feel sorry for Forest who gave their all but got robbed in the end.

If tennis can do Hawkeye on a ball moving 100mph we should have the same technology in football.

What? Tail down in both, maybe a quarter of a meter away from the panel edge in both...what am I missing?
In the first one he’s beside the forest defender (when Jota is leaning forward) in the second he is beside Firmino (a second earlier when Jota is standing straight up)

You can see he's onside. The first angle had me deceived, too. Time to move on. That's what VAR is for.
Only with liverpool lenses can you see he is onside, we have already moved on because the match cannot be replayed. Only admit that Forest got robbed here, that's all.

That's literally just down to the camera angle? Jota has the exact same posture in both shots.

It's onside. Period. Really nothing else to say about it.
