Surely he will extend with Barcelona in this form?

Would take in a heart beat for free. Yes big wages but for me a shrewd signing and a kick in the arse for Rashford

I’d go big for Rudiger also as Pogba, Jesse and Cavani wages going would free up a reported 600-700k.

Highly doubt we will go for either or more importantly either of them being that excited to join us.

If reports are correct he was the one refusing to even talk about an extension, so it probably depends on how he trusts Xavi. Based on how Xavi has communicated and acted from day one he should extend.

He’s made a shot-to-pieces Aubameyang look like prime Ruud. He would do wonders for us.
It's like they never stopped playing together from their Dortmund days, they had quite the connection back then too.

Yep. That's why it was smart to sign Aubameyang. With the right kind of service he's a goal machine.

Or maybe just arsed to do stuff right now so that someone buys him. Will most likely revert to previous self after.

You think Dembele wants to be injured or make mistakes during games? What exactly would reverting to his previous self even mean, or would do for him? He's simply maturing, and he's staying healthy, he's got a manager that's clearly giving him instructions that work, so I definitely don't think it's just a show so he can go back to being hurt and inconsistent once he gets his money.

I might be wrong but I mostly heard from barca fans that even when fit, he was dogshit for them. Never meant anything about injuries tbh.

No, when fit he has always been prolific and generally good with the usual inexplicable end product misfires. His issue has been remaining fit and coming back from injuries.

Nah, he wasn't dog shit, well...outside of his last season with Koeman where he was poor (who wasn't on that team though?). Other than that he was impactful whenever he played, but he also made so many dumb passes or made the easy look difficult and vice versa that he's definitely been a frustrating player beyond his injuries, but he wasn't dogshit. I think the 2018 or 19 season he was basically scoring all the key goals in Spanish Cup and La Liga and was bailing them out until his next injury.

Maybe you're right and it's just a good run of form, but I want to hope it's just a player maturing and managing to stay fit which is helping actually develop his game rather than expect him to improve form the treatment table.

Guys doing an Adebayor and playing out of his skin to get that juicy contract!

I hope I'm wrong and he really kicks on, because he was supposed to rival Mbappe for the future star of football.

Barca fans are dumb and mean-spirited people though, for the most.
But most of the dumb ones have left after Messi

Okay. I am just worried that he might be playing for a contract. Stupid officials at utd give him 400k pw and he turns up as Sanchez in disguise.

I am extremely skeptical about him in terms of professionalism.

Seeing as our side's arguably worst problem is unprofessional mentality I'd be very wary of signing him even though I was always a big fan of his talent.

Great player on his day but his injury woes worry me and you just know that he'd turn into Martial 2.0 here.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
Funny when there was talk of us being in for him everyone was turning their nose up at him, he’s a quality player.
Still turning my nose up on him because I remember the other 4 years of his Barca stint, unlike 90% of the fans on here it seems.

Dude is constantly injured, not a warrior and goes into hiding when things get tough, doesn't work defensively, body seems made of glass. If he is fit and if you only look at his attacking play he is absolutely class, no doubt, probably one of the hardest to defend wide players when in form.

If by talent alone, he would be a no-brainer, but all those other factors tell me to stay away as far as possible. I wouldn't even mind the gamble of signing him if the rest of the team would be tough and hardworking enough to compensate for a player like him, but we already have too many players like him in the squad, so to pile up on that would increase our problems even more and on top of that he is probably going to be on 300k pw, which is really expansive for a sick note like him.

Probably connected to the fact that his injuries, and then being rushed back, never permitted him to make 12 games in row. Those previous 65 are probably scattered over 3-4 seasons with constant interruptions. Great to see him able to string some games together, he is a spectacular player.

He is looking very attractive right now. His injuries are a huge turn off though. Signing him you hope he atleast does a Robben and stays mostly healthy.

For the fist time since he arrived at Barca, they use him properly by isolating him 1v1 against hist left back and having players in the box. Not sure if it will last because other coach will probably identify it pretty quickly. Even Courtois said in his post match interview that they shouldn't have left Nacho 1v1 against Dembele.

In other threads you always talk about how the mentality of your team and the club is the biggest problem and that you need to "sort out the dressing room".

And yet now half of you want to sign a Dembele?
He was considered an issue at Lille, Dortmund and in the last years even at his childhood dream club Barcelona.

His mentality and attitude aren't good enough to be a top player. According to reports his Dortmund lifestyle (often too late to training because he plays video games with friends till late at night; very bad diet for a professional,...) is still his way to live. And he isn't exactly a kid anymore.

It's a shame because judging his abilities he could seriously be Ballon d'or material.
He was insane at Dortmund when he played there. Best youngster I've ever seen in the Bundesliga.

We could do a hell of a lot worse, especially on a free, but I don't really see why he wouldn't want to stay now.

I'm generally not his biggest fan, his technique and decision making is too erratic in my opinion but what always strikes me is his two footedness. He's so good with both feed - shooting, passing, even dribbling - you just can't tell what his strong foot is. Amazing

When fit and firing and confident, he's an extremely dangerous player. Very fast and good ability with both feet, which makes him tough to defend. Really does need to improve his decision making though, as you suggest here. I always thought he was maybe too young and green to go to Barca when he did (thought the same about Vini Jr with Madrid in fact). These are huge basketcase clubs and it's very difficult for young players to survive and develop properly there, especially if they are outsiders. Glad that with both Dembele and Vini, they seem to be coming out the other end of the meat grinder intact.

Only PSG and Man Utd can meet his salary requirement with Chelsea under sanction for the time being. He won't stay with Barcelona otherwise he would have signed the contract. He is playing at a high level now, just happened to be the time he needs to earn a new massive contract else where.

The goal which he assisted with a cross....the way he smoked Nacho Fernandez, in real time, it was astounding. The sheer level of execution.
