I would be very surprised. Madrid’s holy grail is the CL, and that’s exactly where Poch has fallen short at his most recent job. Stranger things have happened though and almost everyone has managed Real already so at some point they’re going to run out of choices.
Madrid like to hire left field when there's no clear candidate available. They did it with Lopetgui, Benitez, Juande Ramos, Querioz etc. Pochettino fits that criteria but they'll dump him after half a season and go for Klopp or something. Poch will end up at another team similar to size as Tottenham after that.

I think there needs to be a collective reining in of expectations around a squad that are entitled twats who think they're above training in the evenings.

Seeing Rene is contender for #2.
And Steve McLaren (who would more like a counsellor). And Robin van Persie. And Ruud van Nistelrooij (who was just appointed PSV coach).

The assistant stuff is probably pure speculation at this point.

Not that I disagree but isn’t it likely that we’ll see a lot of players move on this summer, be or two of whom could be accused of focusing more on their own brand than the team. Bring in a few grafters with a manager who knows how he wants his team to play and you could see things turning around quickly.
The problem is we don't move players on. We offer them new contracts even when they've been awful.

Love it love it love it!!!!! They finally listened to us and choose who we wanted. This could actually be the first decision they have made post Fergie to get right
Let's hope not.

it’s been 50 minutes since this news broke and i still don’t see a defined style of play or any kind of clarity in our recruitment. we should of gone for maurice porch. psg will sack him any way. could of got him for free.

So which Ajax players will he be bringing with him. You’ve got to believe he’ll bring at least a couple of them.
timber and Antony if you believe rumours, no Idea if they’re any good but can’t be worse than what we have.

That waster has won nothing. We need a real winner, Brendan Rodgers is right there

This could all go pear shaped, sure, but I like the idea of a complete reset. Given the state of the club now, we need to do what Liverpool did with Klop. He was given time and backing and allowed to see out his vision and that’s exactly what we need to give ETH. It’s at least a 5 year project and we have to accept that. If it takes less time to get where we should be, that’s a Bonus, but to get to where City and LFC are today, it’s not going to be quick.

Have we seen any patterns yet? If not, I think we should sack him.

I'm just so ambivalent. I see the upside. I also know it's no sure bet, he isn't Fergie, nor even Pep to City or Klopp to Liverpool.

Just as important to get the staff around him right. And to ensure Murtough does just as good a job.

Same with Rangnick if he ends up doing anything beyond his current role which mostly seems to involve saying 'don't blame me' to the media.

You don't buy managers, dipshit. You give them a pat on the back once a month and a soggy envelope filled with odd cuts of meat just like the kids in our sweatshop.

Rene or McClaren would be a great idea. Top number 2s and they know the club which will help to ease in ETH. Seems a sensible step - learning from Moyes mistakes.
that’s just jobs for the boys. again. have we learnt nothing? first thing he’ll do when he gets here is declare fletcher god king of the universe and ask him who we should sign in his first press conference.

I can't remember why I joined this war.
If this is true, first good news in a long while. I just hope Murtough and Ragnick will bring in the right players this summer and fix our problem areas as well. Only if they can find two quality midfielders and a quality right wing player will ten Hag have any chance of success here.

Why is Rene a top number 2?

He was never anything more than a first team coach under Fergie and hasn't exactly done much since then.

McCLaren has done an awful lot more.
