Remember this is who the majority of redcafe wanted. Similiar to how the majortiy backed Ole. Hopefully, this forum gets it right this time.

Watching Ralf fail at United and ETH not reaching the height of the semi final again, make me skeptical. But, as I stated before, if he gets backed like previous manager, he should do as well as van goal and mourinho. Maybe even better
Oh come on man. People weren't on board with Ole before he was appointed. People decided to support him after he was appointed. Completely different situation.

Massive risk which reflects our desperation. Exciting appointment but if he isn't backed and given some time it will end no differently to the last 4.

Nah that is some revisionist history you are going on about. I was the one taking most of the abuse because I remember how many supported him before he was appointed. People was drooling over the night in Paris moment and I knew then that, it was a false flag because we didn't deserve that win. I got critized a lot for my opinion then the same way I am now. That moment and the new manager bounce where pogba was exceptionally during that period made many people want Ole appointed. When we was appointed, his support grew even more. I know many people want to revise history in their favor, but the one who was critique for being wrong then, knew what exactly happened.

I just want to make it more clear now that the hype for ETH is phenomenal and there is an expectation that we are signing a Pep or klopp with the way people talk of him. Yet, I see similiarties with ralf who knows how to talk the talk and has the philosophy to back it, but not the experience at a top club to make the players respect him enough

We just need 6 or 7 new starters now for him to have a chance.
Instant success with this squad is impossible so next season is already a write off in terms of trophies. I expect the Glazers to stick with their policy of three signings per summer window and maybe 1 signing in January if an interesting player becomes available. So we'll need to give ETH a couple of seasons before we judge him.

How long should he get do you think?

I just hope that on his arrival, ETH gets to the task of removing some of the first team squad and the toxicity which has caused the alarming drop in standards. Left at the club they'll only serve to thrown him under the bus.

Well it depends doesn't it, I'm not sat here thinking we need to give RR more time I've seen more than enough

He said something along the lines of Rashford can't be our main centre forward.
And then managed to mess about both he and Martial, and wanting to bring Perisic in for 60m, that was rightly vetoed.
Perisic is a fantastic player and character, he is a serial winner and cost 20mills only. Was a bargain missed.

Who would be the better coach Rene or mcClaren? Think I was a toddler when McClaren was with us so won’t remember him aha.

McClaren? Do we ever learn

Could bring back Ole as well to tell ETH about United DNA

As long as there is evidence of a plan going forward I don't see why we wouldn't give him time? We gave Ole much more time than he deserved.

Not that I trust in this choice, or think Glazers & board will cooperate with him with strict thought of football only, but let's just try this option.

As long as he'll be advised by Rangnick hopefully they'll overwhelm the marketing side of the club and bring football to it's deserved highest priority.

He was my 1st choice and my heart tells me I will back Ten Hag 100% but my mind tells me he will be yet another manager thrown under the bus by the Glazers. Ten Hag is the first manager post SAF we hire where his tactics are fully in tune with modern day football. If he becomes another failure we can know for a fact no manager will succeed under these owners. I wish him good luck and hope he achieves big things.

What do we think about McClaren?
Depends what he's there for, really.

I think he only has about six months of Premier League managerial experience since leaving Middlesbrough in 2006. However, he has been in and around English football for a while and was obviously at United for some big moments in our history and might therefore prove valuable to Ten Hag somehow. Ten Hag also knows him pretty well.

I don't remember any players ever mention what a great coach McClaren was, Meulensteen on the other hand was spoken about glowingly by loads of that 08 side

That was a long time ago though

Your ignorance is on show. McClaren and Ten Hag worked together at FC Twente and even won the Eredivisie. McClaren was also arguably the best no.2 Fergie ever had.

Didn’t Neville say he expected the MUFC PR team to be in full swing and maybe even news about the next manager, after the lackluster draw at the weekend?

That's like asking for Rene Zellwegger and ending up with Madison Beer. Cmon.
Rene Zellweger would be a far better manager of Man Utd than Madison Beer. She has far more experience and would absolutely command the respect of the first team ipso facto Brendan Rodgers was the man for this job but the board fecked it up again !

McClaren will be joining as ten Hag's number two according to Jamie Jackson
Not happy about that, as I read an article where he seems to think that Maguire is the best thing since sliced bread or words to that effect, yeah I know ETH should be calling the shots but you know.

Speaking of which, I sincerely hope that ETH will not keep picking the same players time & time again, one dreadful performance after another just like Ole did.

Tbh to Ralf he's still having to deal with the same hand he was given when he started.
Lost only 2 games since then if I'm not wrong?

This is a ridiculous question, Rene Zellweger would be a talented manager and played soccer to a reasonably high level in high school. She also never got England knocked out of the Euros.

might be only 2 in the league but what about all the draws? That's whats killed the lowest possible target for us for this season (top 4)

Works very hard constantly making runs in behind. Starting to see what Jose saw. They wanted 40m though from memory - the fee was pretty high.
Sadly so we seem to be quoted double vs every other suitor so that sucks for us too.

Well yes if there's no evidence of any progress or a plan that would be a different story and also massively disappointing.

Not feeling this appointment at all. I'll give him time as always, but not overly excited.

I was skeptical of Rangnick as a manager when we got him this winter. And unfortunately, I'm also skeptical of Ten Hag at United. I am worried that he has been the manager of Ajax, which is by far the strongest team in the Netherlands and yet they risk losing the championship to a somewhat weaker PSV team. Also, I'm worried about how he treats young players who do not strike immediately. He throws them on the second team where they can rot and look no further in their direction. Also, I'm worried he's coming from perhaps the 6th strongest league in Europe (England, Spain, Germany, France, Italy are probably all stronger than the Dutch).
