I’m in the same boat. One game a week, save Ronaldo legs and work with a smaller squad. Ten Hag should have plenty of time to get his ideas across

It would make ETH job easier because we’d have more time to train and learn his style but the flip side is some of our targets may not come without European football. Transfer budget might be reduced as well.

It will probably be better not making any kind of Europe next season… means we will have less games to play and more training for the new squad to gel. I’m a bit worried though that players are going to reject us in favour of champions league football. Don’t want to go down the route of overpaying wages to persuade them to join.

I dont think we will get more than 1-2 points from the last 4 games.

All depends on Wolves now.

The football season will be miserable without European nights. It was under LVG.

We aren’t winning the league with or without it anyway.

As a club, You’re not attracting any players if you’re not in any European competition next year.

We'd have to actively throw all the remaining games and hope Wolves overtake us. Not happening. We'll have to suffer the humiliation of playing in the shittiest of European tournaments. Although it could be useful if we use it to bed in some youth players

No.... The Europa games will be invaluable in getting ETH style across to squad players

Being out of Europe will be a blessing. being whipped senseless by a team like Brondby (no disrespect to them) in the Europa league will be humiliating

The attraction of the PL overshadows the Conference league.
European competition means we need to keep shit to have a big squad for all competitions.

It would be good for academy & new players to taste some european football, but totally get the point.

Arsenal are in top 4 thanks to no european football.
Arsenal are in top 4 because us and Spurs are shit. We have at least on paper a better squad and a shit manager. Spurs have a better manager and a shit squad.

Always aim for the best possible place you can finish. But ideally avoid the Conference League, Europa League could be a way to get into the CL the following season for all we know.

Normally I’d disagree, but our team will be absolutely tiny next season because of how many departures. We’re already sitting on only 3 central midfielders and 3 wingers in the entire squad, it’s crazy.

We won’t be able to handle Ten Hag trying to get these lazy feckers to press and sustain from the front if we’ve got Thursday matches in Uzbekistan

Does anyone know the league positions needed for Europa League and Conference League? I think the 2 spots from League Cup and FA Cup will be available as Liverpool have won the League Cup and Liverpool/Chelsea the FA Cup, so what is needed now?

I'm gonna text the players and let them know what we've decided.

At this point I don't think we have a right lot of choice.

In such extraordinary times the squad is in, i’d actually agree. All focus and attention on a major rebuild whilst finishing top 4.

Agree. Instead of spending money on big squad. Throw out as much deadwood as possible.

Without Europe ten Hag might get a tenner to spend on players. Budget will drop massively.

Specially if it's conference league, let's just down tools and finish 8th. Can't risk it finishing 7th and either City/Liverpool winning the UCL and freeing an extra place for god damn conference league.

Should play kids next few games and finish 8th 9th.

Rather ETH have more time on training ground to work on his team and blend in the new set of players we need

Surely Maguire can handle playing against Astana in the Europa? Might be good to give the young players a chance and ten Hag will probably go all out to win the europa.

Think @Samid made a good argument re. Getting Europe in any way possible this year due to the bigger CL tournament that's around the corner. The more coefficient points we earn, the better.

Apologies if it wasn't you @Samid.

Where the grass is greener.
I want us to get European football purely because it means more Utd games to watch, its so bloody boring with no midweek games, even if there are obvious positives.
