Nah, just my opinion. I can't imagine, he wouldn't have said that on TV if they were close. They may talk here and there from time to time after games or have a quick chat on events, but i just can't see it why they would be buddies and meet/talk on a regular basis. Scholes is a bit of a weirdo and the opposite of Jesse in almost every aspect.
They are both weirdos though, so maybe they clicked.

Paul 'I'm sure he won't mind if I expose him as a rat' Scholes.

Brilliant by Jesse!

No I literally think Lingard will mouth off about the club to anyone in the media who will listen, and of course they all want to listen. Same as several other players, Bailly, Henderson etc.

He also wasn't having a dig at his employer, he was clearly having a dig at his team mates and/or the manager.

Why would he out himself as a rat on social media? It's obvious he didn't expect Scholes to be such a monumental moron to mention who was feeding him inside information.

How can you possibly think Beanz and Toe Sucker are mates?
What makes you think Lingard mouths off to anyone who will listen? And how do you know he was having a dig at his teammates?

"The dressing room is a disaster" could mean many things. He could have meant the dressing room is in a bad way right now after the defeats to Liverpool and Arsenal have ended our CL hopes. I'm not saying that's what he meant, only that it's a possibility.

I mean, I'm not saying he isn't the one, but this is hardly definitive isn't it? Scholes said it was a quick chat and he could easily have meant that morale was poor. Which everyone knows it is, but nowadays people get shocked when public figures dare say anything negative and not scripted and prepped for tv.
If Lingard is talking to Scholes about the dressing room, you bet Scholes is not the only one he's talking to.

A lot of people Lingard here but isn't Scholes the one in the wrong?
It's a c*ntish move from scholes. But how daft you you have to be to be speaking to someone that goes on tv about your dressing room. Is Lingard that naive?

The term “I’m sure he won’t mind me saying this” confirms that he’s not had that conversation.
I'm sure he won't mind me saying this could just as easily mean that he had his permission. Scholes may not be the sharpest tool in the shed but is he that stupid to name drop the leak everyone wanted to know about for the last couple of seasons? People don't burn their sources without an ulterior motive.

Or maybe I am completely wrong and he's as brain dead as being made out.

Not naive no, he’d think a fellow professional, an ex-footballer & team mate at that, would respect his word and not go round spouting what he says to people. Clearly that trust has been broken.

Rio has kept his mouth shut plenty of times on his show and for good reason

Every pundit has his rats. Neville talked about that. Lingard's problem is that Scholes is stupid.
My bet is that Lingard, Rashford and Henderson are 100% the ones who were talking shit whole year to pundits. Maybe Pogba too through his agent.

Keeping Lingard when he wanted to leave was a huge mistake. Same with Dean and others. If they want to leave facilitate it because keeping them here on the bench helps no one.

Nah, Scholes is just daft. He thinks that he is doing nothing wrong there. In reality he did exactly what you said; burn all bridges. No player in future will not talk with Scholes.

They will go to Neville  . Gary protects his sources (and he has few of them)

A) we don't need Lingard to say it to know.
B) it's said by a player who has fallen with the manager and is leaving so his opinion is biased.
A lot of people seem to be missing the Part B here.

Player not playing thinks things are wrong.
Would no doubt be loving it if he was a regular.

I guess he trusted him not to share the info with the rest of the world, but then again, Scholes clearly said he's sure "Jesse won't mind me saying this". So who knows what's going on.

It's a bizarre thing to do from Scholesy, it doesn't benefit the club in any way. He's my favourite all-time player, but he can be a proper twat at times.

The manager made comments that points in the same direction though.

I side with you on this, and I think Paul just had his last scoop from a United player after that. Still silly of Lingard to do, but I have no doubts he expected an ex player to respect the sanctity of the locker room and not expose it to the media. Silly expectation, but not senseless.

Love that this whole thing could simply be Scholesy seeing Lingard for 10secs and asking about the dressing room and Lingard flippantly saying "it's not good".

Then it's suddenly morphed into "proof" that Lingard has been leaking negative stuff for years.

Again, the manager isn't going to say "it's all brilliant here, brilliant team, brilliant lads" when he can barely squeeze a win out against the likes of Norwich.

The lack of self -awareness that he's actually quoting this from Lingard and doesn't realize what an absolutely fecking ridiculous thing to do and say that is, on all levels

I don't really follow. If two players and the manager say the same thing then why are we questioning the opinion of one of the players?

I don't think he lacks awareness - I think he genuinely believes Lingard doesn't mind it being repeated.

And why wouldn't he? Why would Lingard not want it repeated either? It is exactly what the manager has been saying. Finally the manager and the players are on the same page about something.

Yes and to be fair, Neville gave them a public warning about the leaks

Apologies if this has been answered already but is it possible that Lingz ain't fussed that Scholes repeated this on live TV?

Why would Scholes tell what he heard from Lingard?

Honestly Feck Scholes, as a pundit, feck Lingard although I understand his complaint was told he could leave but then forced to stay.

Best thing we can do is get rid of all the players who are media and pundit darlings.

he's leaving and after the year he's had with Ole pretending he would have a role and the club's incompetence in moving him on after his loan spell with West Ham he couldn't give 2 shits whether this leaked or not.

I really do think it's a case of our players being upset that Ranginck doesn't rate them. Bunch of narcissists who've bought their own hype and believe they're better than they are. In their heads Rangnick is the problem, not them.

I have no idea either, yet.

Lingards leaving so why would he give a shite anyways.

He's probably been leaking far more over the years. Not surprising as he is a little twat.
