I back Rangnick over these players all day long and so should every United fan right now. It's plain as day that most of them just aren't good enough and will continue to look average under Ten Hag (at which point they'll try to throw him under the bus to protect themselves yet again).
The irony of all this is that Ole came in-apparently identified the players with bad character and would set a new culture for the club!

Let's be fair. Those who zelously defended him have hardly been willing to admit they had it very wrong.
My take is that Scholes is being paid to talk shit on tv, we might not like what he said but it's good TV. Lingard should be professional enough not to badmouth the place of his current employment.

Right. Of all the problems we have currently, Scholes and Neville and our ex players are the ones people have a gripe with. Our fanbase absolutely deserves the dross we are served by these players on a weekly basis.

Ole made the culture far worse by pampering and coddling these players too much and making them believe their own hype. I actually miss Mourinho's United.

I agree. He got rid of a few bad apples, then played favourites and created a much larger group of bad apples. Wouldn't go back to Mourinho personally given he wanted to replace those bad apples with Willian, Perisic and Jerome Boateng, but I get where you're coming from.
The positive signs for me are that if there are two big factions in the dressing room we're clearly making moves to clean out one of them. It appears to me that the spanish/portuguese speaking group has won out as most of them are being retained, where as the other group (the dancers & the english lads - Pogba/Lingard/Bailly/Martial/Shaw/Maguire/Henderson etc) is being dismantled.
We're moving to a new era and we've got De Gea and Fred talking about how excited they are to work with ten Hag whilst suddenly Jesse is slagging everything off to Paul Scholes, Bailly is talking nonsense on social media, Pogbas not playing for us again and Martial doesnt want to come back.
The summer clear out is going to create a much better atmosphere and work ethic in the squad in my view.

It will only happen if we get a manager who is ruthless enough to get rid of all the dross just like Klopp did at Liverpool. Even a great manager like him did poorly over there before he made a complete overhaul got rid of all the mediocrity and brought in players he thought fit his system.
Every single manager post SAF have let the dross stay year after year and even extended their contracts. I hope Erik is different.

Is it only the manager to blame though? We hand out large contracts like sweets and massively overpay making it difficult to get rid of players even if the manager doesn't want them. We've just done it with Bruno despite having no permanent manager

Can anyone tell me why Lingard is the one who leaked things out based on Scholes's comment? From my point of view, it's only player speaks to former player so there is nothing wrong with that. I mean Scholes has been with the club for many years so may be Lingard spoke to him and asked him what to do with the current situation in the dressing room. I don't see how people can come into conclusion that Lingard is willingly to spill the beans to the journalist.
