Loads of Real Madrid fans left the stadium after the Mahrez Goal and weren't allowed back in after the comeback. So have any of ye turned off the match or left the stadium early and regretted it?

I stopped watching once after City scored the 3rd goal. It was fustrating and believed we weren't going to score again. In that 4-3 game. That Legendary Owen goal came soon after...

I turn off when it’s not United sometimes, almost did yesterday when Mahrez scored.

My mate went to bed the night we won the treble as he was so upset thinking it was all over. His entire family still bring it up as a jibe, even siblings who were too young to remember it but are just in on the joke.

I remember hearing a story of a united fan who owned a newsagents, he was watching the champions league final in 1999 but grew so frustrated with the match he turned it off in the 90th minute and went up to bed. Opens up his newsagents the following morning but avoids looking at the newspapers as he doesn’t want to be reminded of the results. It wasn’t until later on that morning when a friend of his called in for a paper and mentions the score that he found our that we had actually won.
Tbh I have always assumed that story was bullshit but i will never know for sure,

The title doesn't need that comma does it? I wouldn't have thought so.

Can we please do something about the comma

Stopped watching after half time vs Liverpool at home.

Its absolutely fecking beyond me that Ole didn’t get sacked/resign after that.

Especially considering Conte was available and we could've offered him a short term contract.

Ashamed to admit it but I left early for the Macheda goal against Villa. You could feel that something was about to happen from the atmosphere and tension but I went with my uncle and he had to be somewhere else in the evening we had to dash off as the additional time was announced.

Got in the car, turned the radio on then heard it instead. Gutted.

I know someone who left at half time against Ipswich circa 2001. We were pissing the league for the third year in a row and the game was already won at half time, so they left as it was freezing and a dead atmosphere. That’s the level to which United fans are spoilt.

I left early when City scored the 4th in the 6-1. By the time I’d got out the ground it was 6. People kept shouting outside that’s it was 7, 8, 9…

Any Madrid fan who left early last night is a mug. The comeback was always on the cards, it's Real in the champions league.

I just can't bring myself to turn to ever turn it off. Possibly because an aul fella I knew years ago, who had been a United fan all his life, was down his local in Dublin for the 99 final and left with a few minutes to go. When he was on his way home he heard the roar and thought to himself that's all those Liverpool supporting cnuts cheering at the final whistle. He was absolutely gutted he had missed it all when he got home and found his son dancing round the gaff.

I was watching Switzerland - DK on some dodgy stream, which died shortly after we were behind 3-0 at 76th minute, so thought feck it and went to bed. Checked livescore like 15 minutes later and it was suddenly 3-3

I once was on my way out of Old Trafford when Van Persie equalised for us in the 93rd minute of a 1-1 draw with Chelsea in 2014. I was just on the concourse when I heard the roar from the crowd so ran back to see the celebrations.

A friend of mine was watching the final day of the 2012 season on his phone before boarding a flight to Australia. He thought United were champions and made a big gloating post on Facebook about how he couldn't believe we'd won it etc. He then switched his phone to airplane mode and didn't find out City had won until he landed. You can imagine how many responses to his post he had by then... what an embarrassment.

The only time I’ve left Old Trafford early was the day of Hillsborough. We had just gone 0-2 down against Derby when the message came over the tannoy that ‘any fans inside the ground who are from Merseyside, should make their way home immediately’ . We were (we lived in St Helens) so we did. When we got in the car we realised why.

My cousin came over during that Aston Villa game and wanted to go and play some real football. We were losing so I said yeah why not. My sister came running down to tell me "Macheda scored", I thought she was taking the piss as I had no idea who that was.

Never left a match early until this season when I seen some ofour players not trying.
We were used to seeing late goals in Fergies time here.

George Best also didn't see the comeback I believe. He was at the stadium.

Judging by the number of fans who leave their seats but stay to watch the end on the screens on the concourse, quite a few people.

Never left a game early. I don't understand how so many people can have somewhere better to be that they need to leave early for.

Never when I’ve been at the ground. I turned off the tv before Owen’s winner in the derby which still haunts me.

Only ever left a game early once and that was Anfield a couple of weeks ago because I didn't fancy being locked in at the final whistle. Certainly don't regret missing their fourth goal.

Don't for the life of me understand why anyone would turn the TV off if they're watching at home, really bizarre behaviour, watch your team, we've enjoyed the good times you have to suffer the bad times too.

I turned off the first leg after City went 3-1 up I think it was, and I turned off the second leg after Mahrez scored last night. Missed both comebacks live.

I skipped a lot of our games this season out of boredom and I can confirm, this was some of the best decisions I have taken since I started following football. Wish I had skipped more games for United all honestly.

The 2000/2001 season is the closest we ever got to a Bayern or Juventus like total dominance of the league to the point it was actually a bit dull. We were so far ahead of everyone, it felt nothing special to win the title.

It's bizarre to look back on it now.

I left a game vs West Brom early once as it was freezing and the game was boring as feck. We were 1-0 up after an early own goal and then nothing happened for the 89 minutes after. Right up until RVP scored an absolute belter to make it 2-0 and kill the game, which I missed. Gutted.

I turned off right before the Madrid equaliser last night only to get a few texts laughing at City. Turned back on for extra time at least, but missed the drama of City messing up.

Only time I have left United early was Brighton away when Pogba scored a late penalty, but we were beaten anyway and I wanted a pint after witnessing that game.

Special mention also to when I went to Celtic v Inter Milan, Celtic were 2-3 down and I had a text saying part of the M6 was closed and I had to be in work early next morning. John Gudetti made it 3-3 as I was walking to the car, but tbf, hearing the roar from outside the stadium was also an experience

I was in my parents for Sunday lunch and when the ball went out of play a throw in the 94th minute I headed for my dinner. Must have been 2 minutes later I heard my father and sister go nuts. Rushed in to see Owen had scored in last minute v City. Was amazed the game was still on tbh, no idea where the ref got the extra 2 minutes from.

Another city one. Was majorly hungover and watched the city v United game on my phone in bed. Was the comeback at half-time from 2 down game. I'd turned off my phone as was pretty sure we were going to lose by 4 or 5. Was amazed when I realised we'd won.

I had travelled all the way from Singapore. No way I was going to go back with United losing at home. Cheered myself hoarse. Fantastic victory. Sorry to rub it in.

The last 2 that I choose to not finish were the Liverpool drubbing I definitely took the correct choice.

Nope, it just makes a real mess of “simple past” and “past continuous”.

It wouldn’t make more sense if it read….

“Have you ever regretted, stopped watching, or leaving a match early?”.

It needs to read…

Have you ever regretted leaving a match early or stopping watching a match early?”.

Went to a Tuesday night match against QPR back in 1969. The ground was about three-quarters full and with 5 minutes or so to go and United winning 4-1, people started leaving. We scored 4 more in the last 5 minutes. After the match, we jumped on the 264 bus home. A couple of older blokes asked what the final score was. I told them 8-1 and they thought I was taking the piss and threatened to clock me for being lippy.

Away to City in 2012.

We were 2-0 up and they got 2 late goals to bring it back to 2-2. I was convinced we were gonna lose then which would've levelled us on points. I was raging so I took the dog for a walk. Came home to see Van Persie had won it in injury time.

Never happened with United. I will not pretend that I had 100% attention for full 90min in every game, but I never really straight out stopped watching till the full time whistle.

It did happen plenty of times with the national team though.
