So what? He finished football way ago. He always said he would like to live in the US and.. HE CAN. Better if it's Miami. A bit like Barcelona with the weather, i suppose.

I think going to the MLS after PSG was the plan all along so not surprised.

I’m not gunna lie my dude, your freaking weird.

Nobody is having a Ronaldo V Messi debate right now hence I commented on the Messi thread of his MLS move.

It’s ok that your guy is going to MLS, he can’t keep it up on Europe and that’s fine, it’s called aging.

You are like listening to music on repeat, you say the same dam thing every single time, it’s just….weird.
I think its probably because you deicided to bring Ronaldo into your original post. Have no idea what Messi has got to do with Ronaldo going to Sporting.

No it’s because he’s fecking weird. Never did I make it a Messi V Ronaldo thing in my post. This guy is very strange and overly defensive with Messi it’s borderline creepy.

What is wrong in saying that Messi going to MLS would make it easier for Ronaldo to go to Sporting ? We all know Ronaldo is very competitive and would not want to leave the top leagues or retire until Messi was done.

You could just leave Ronnie out of the post. Of course it's inevitable that Ronnie will creep into the Messi thread and vice versa, but this thread quickly becomes a cluster feck of the Messi vs Ronaldo thread.

Anyway you made a comparison of their longevity In which you are correct but is also for the other now closed thread.

Ok but no comparison or digs were made… it was a regular post…all that was said was a one liner insinuating that maybe a certain player would come play for your boy hood club. What a crime and travesty I committed.

Do you not see how out of pocket of a response that was ?

Jesus Christ now we can’t have both of their names in a sentence without someone having to react in a abnormal manner.

You compared their longevity in which you are correct, but it was a comparison none the less.

Hopefully he can kill it in the MLS.

I remember Giovinco doing well so he should be able to.

Judging by the responses I don’t think anyone took it as a “dig” at Messi besides one person who we all know how he is already.

Their is a reason I made my post on the Messi Thread and not the Messi V Ronaldo thread.

However Messi’s personal Knight and shining armor showed up in his white horse to defend his honor in every thread in this forum.

He will be exceptional in MLS even at half speed, plus the Inter Miami Kit is a fecking 10/10 and with Messi name on the back it’s going to look bloody brilliant.

If Messi takes it serious it would bring a lot of eyes to MLS in what is a already growing league.

It would be fun if “He who shall not be named” or “Roldemort” would join Messi in Miami. Would be story book and fun ending for both of them.

I had to play it safe and not call him by his real name to not get a reaction out of people.

I wish he could go back to Barcelona for one more season to see if he has actually aged towards not playig football.

Anyway, seeing them 2nd without him isnt a surprise so maybe they feel like they are moving on.

i personally dont see Roldemort in the MLS next, he is still doing 20 magic tricks in the hardest most competitve league in the world. He still has it in him to shine for PSG or in the Bundesliga. And he will be defintely be back at Sporting which is a better league than MLS so seems like the wrong thing to do to go from the MLS to the Portugese Liga which is a league up.

Have you considered that Barcelona's change in fortune came when they brought in Xavi? Before him they were woeful. 9th in la liga and out of the group stages in the CL. There is this idea that Barca don't need good managers but all their most successful periods have been with the best managers. It was right for Messi to leave though considering his age and wages. He had to leave sometime unless he retired there.

Messi going to MLS at age 36 is perfectly normal career trajectory for someone who made his debut at 16, good luck to him.

The average retirement age for footballers is 35 so yeah it's about right. Anyway it's sad that Messi's career is soon over. There hasn't been another footballer I would tune into just to watch in the modern era other than him.

Is he actually physically shot or has his motivation just gone after leaving Barca? It could be a major issue for Argentina in the WC if it's the former- he'll have to play given his status regardless of whether or not he is in decline. Even if it's the latter and he gets mentally fired up for the World Cup, he'll surely be rusty from not taking the game seriously for a couple of years.

The World Cup is in six months, before he goes to MLS. That will be his last hurrah. I can see him being well up for it. He’s playing as well for Argentina as ever, had a great Copa America last year. He’ll be playing group stage CL matches for PSG, his preparation for the World Cup should be fine.

What a stupid post, aren't you the one that talked about Ronaldo in this Messi thread, go post that bs in the Ronaldo thread and stop spamming this thread with Ronaldo.
My post is only about Messi and no one else. If that hurts, there's nothing I can do..

Barca couldn't even get past the quarter finals of Europa, they were still a better team with Messi but will improve in the coming years.

No weirdo, you became defensive about me saying “we all knew he would retire” first. Hence your traditional repeat post saying the same crap with no substance.

Don’t change the narrative about your weird defensive post.

Didn’t know saying “I hope Ronaldo comes to Sporting” is a no no in a fecking thread.

“Spamming this thread with Ronaldo” bro I’m never even on this thread mate. I posted one line.

You got some serious issues I’m not gunna lie.

Yeah, posting about Messi's achievements in a Messi thread makes one strange while posts about Ronaldo's move to Sporting not:lol:
It is when you feel the need to rhyme off all of Messi’s achievements at the mere mention of Ronaldo’s name, regardless of context. It’s incredibly sad.

what does Ronaldo's longevity, move to Sporting BS have to do with Messi in a Messi thread, weirdo? go post that crap in Ronaldo thread. It sounds from your post that Ronaldo is too much obsessed with Messi just like his fans to the extent that his career decisions seem to based on what Messi will do next, so sad..

Imagine not being able to drop a single line without mentioning Ronaldo in a Messi thread while saying things like " We all Know he would be “retired” before Ronaldo and due to his massive decline" (and then getting irritated by a response in the same Messi thread that shows even if Messi decides to retire today, nobody comes close to him in terms of most major individual awards, so sensitive..

Wonder what happens to Messi and C.Ronaldo fanboys when they retire. Do they move their obsession to new players? Fascinating times ahead

Have you seen some of their previous posts, this is actually relatively very tame. Normally its several paragraphs of sycophantic rambling, I don't think they have any shame left to recognise how sad it is.

I imagine when they have lived vicariously through them for so long I don't think they'll find it easy to shift it to other players. They will probably just stalk their social medias post retirement or something.

Oh my lord give it a rest!

Go post this crap in your favorite thread. Messi does not know you exist you do know that right?

Messi being done with football early has nothing to do with Ronaldo, everyone even Messi fans a like knew he would. Your the one starting a Ronaldo V Messi thread that nobody other then you is trying to have in this thread.

This behavior you have is not normal, it’s fecking sad mate and instead of just letting it go so people forget it you keep digging yourself deeper in this hole that your digging.

It’s just really really weird dude…

says the guy who has half his posts in a Messi thread which are all about how irritated he gets by the list of Messi's achievements, again "in the Messi thread", really embarrassing with no shame left..

Apropos of nothing, I was just reading that in 2012, Messi had 91 goals and 22 assists in 69 games. I was there, I saw it happen, but I still don't believe it. Surely the highest level a footballer has ever reached over a calendar year? Maybe Pele in 62 or 59? Sadly I wasn't around for that.

In terms of stats, no, nobody ever reached those heights apart from Messi and he was still dribbling like the best ever. Someone like Müller actually had quite a lot of assists, but he never had the complete package of players like Messi or Pelé.

I honestly think this will roll on for years beyond their retirement. It's already being picked up on social media by a generation of football fans who were barely in primary school when Ronaldo and Messi won their first Balon d'Ors.

Since it's all the footage is on youtube and stuff I think this will go on forever. Essentially the Pelé vs Maradonna of the modern era.

I always find it interesting because you kind of get to see how a person views or values football depending on who their GOAT is.

It’s a bit like trying to get to know what personality you have by trying to find what type of person your wife is.

I've always found these metaphors to girlfriends and wives when talking about footballers really really odd.

Il give you another example; getting to know someone by the types of films they like.
