Literally no one said that. We're just saying they weren't that good.

No one is also saying winning this trophy is equivalent to winning CL or something. It's a nice trophy for a group of players who won feck all for a long time and good stepping stone to build upon. It also means a lot for a club that barely wins anything. That's their first European title. Think about that a little bit.
They won the Inter fairs Cup which carries about as much value as tonights new competition that Looks more like a vase for flowers than a trophy. You seem to be a big fan of Jose so go head knock yourself out on this 3rd tier competition success.

Strange after the way he trashed the club
Ive spent the last year trashing the club on here at every possible opportunity and I’m sure I’ll have reasons to continue to do so next season. Mourinho has always spoken highly of United fans….

Behind the right goal post as "Whiteside shoots!"
I disagree. Refs don't have enough tools to combat it. They can't (and shouldn't) unilaterally change the rules.

Nah, I'm taking the piss. The Feyenoord manager is also bald and Dutch. He's like a pudgy, bronze ETH. Although I'm certain he's watching the game. He's crayzy about football.
? Of course they do, cards. And why would he have to change a rule… it’s already there in black and white.

Patricio wasted time (20-30 seconds) on every kick. Ref booked him with less than ten minutes to go… why then?

He then did it for every further kick and didn’t get booked again.

Its not just this ref (you just happened to post something), it’s almost every game and pisses me off. Goalies amble around and you see lots of them watching the ref as he jogs back towards the halfway line… then the ref turns round, the goalie puts an arm up (like some imaginary signal), pauses THEN kicks it. Its the norm now.

Give them a couple of chances, then a warning, then a yellow, then one more chance then tell them the next one is a second yellow. The rules are there but FAs don’t want goalies sent off for it really, they want refs to pay lip service to it.

Anyway, generally he was ok. As I said, time wasting is a bug bear .. and getting worse. Most teams.

Never trashed the fans as far as I'm aware, and only had nice things to say about us?

Just said we're a badly run club... Which we are.
When? And how? By winning two trophies? When he said anything bad about club?
It is strange to hate our only successful manager after Saf
Trashed us surely, was a toxic cnut and left smiling with £15m in his back pocket.

When’s he spoken highly of United fans, by giving a little wave?

Never understood how can anyone not like Mourinho. In his prime he was easily the most charismatic manager in world football. Absolute entertainer on touchline and in press. Charisma and ego like no other. Combining this with ton of trophies and winning while winding up the opposition, how come anyone not enjoy his antics is beyond me.

Yes he has become a little bit miserable these last 5 years but still from time to time shows his charisma from the past and why he was an entertainer through and through.

A huge personality and character in the game. He can win nothing from now till the end of his career and it won't affect his statue one point. Mourinho at his prime was a kind of personality I doubt we'll experience again, especially with the same kind of success.

Maybe we should scrub the Cup Winners Cup off our list of achievements ?

Just won a European trophy and Mancini fighting with his own team mate at the final whistle.
Not gonna work with all the expansion in CL. CWC was a worthy competition when only league champions qualified for the old CL.

Now teams qualified for CL via league position often win the domestic cups too; CWC may end up in hand of non champion teams and even placed worse on league table/lower league.

Bring one post in this thread that says this is a big trophy. I'm waiting.

Unless you bring something like that, then your posts have been pointless.

The way how United fans shit on trophies (except Cl and Pl) you would think that we are winning two trophies every year
Aye - the amount of people that think the Europa League is somehow below us - despite the fact that we'd have got nowhere near the final if we were in that competition this year! It is (quite literally) our current level.

He's a whingy narcissistic cnut who makes his teams play the most mindnumbingly terrible football you can imagine, regardless of how feeble the opposition.

I dislike him a bit more at this very moment, but he's destroyed a lot of big games that were an absolute chore to watch as a neutral.

This was incidentally the first game my club has been on the receiving end of.

No wait we actually beat Mou's United in the EL the year you won it I think :wenger:

that’s what does it for me, he’s just pure gold. He’s been hilarious at Roma this year, taking this weird David Brent type persona, posting all these daft videos on IG.

I don't get the complaints about being a cnut. It's not like he's a cnut to me. He's not someone I'll ever have a personal contact with. I only care about him as a football manager and from that perspective he's an entertainer with his charisma and ego. (And anyway, I'm pretty sure a lot of people who talked with him in real life says he's mostly a decent person outside of football).

There're multiple ways to play the sport and football would have been boring if everyone just played Tiki Taka.

Defensive style is one way of playing the game and it existed before Mourinho and it'll still exist after him. Honestly, that's like Klopp complaining the opposition parked the bus and didn't give him a free run to win the game or something.

The kind of football he plays doesn't change anything from the fact that he's an entertaining personality to follow in football and I doubt we'll ever see any character like him in his prime again. He's one of a kind when it comes to what he says and does.

If he was an English manager, media would have been discussing about knighting him :p
He is already knighted in Portugal I believe.

Also tonight you have seen the importance of pressing by strikers

You need players able to run 12/14 km in 90 mins

You can score 2 goal/game but if you can’t press and run it’s all useless

It's a good looking trophy though not as much as Europa league one.

Have to say I'm glad UEFA started this competition, it's a chance for 'lesser' clubs to compete in Europe as even Europa league can be too strong for some.

They had a free kick (corner?) on the right in injury time and passed it short! Then got closed down by Roma.

I hope they enjoy their “we stuck to our playing philosophy 2022” trophy. They can show it off on their open top bus parade.
Wait, you expect Feyenoord and their midgets like Linssen and Malacia to pump it into a box with Smalling, Ibanez and Mancini?
There's nothing wrong with using corner variations and Feyenoord have been doing it all season with moderate succes.

I think you're being a little harsh here. Roma bought a CF for 40 million euros. Feyenoord are struggling to pay 4 million for theirs. Let's not pretend they lost because of their football (like people often do with Ajax as well). Feyenoord lack quality and don't have the budget to fix it.
