Ok but not at any price, come on there must be other type of options in the market. If you want my opinion he is more suited to Newcastle than United, if coming to United would be stupidity beyond belief to pay something bordering the 100 million euros tag, the guy responsible for that should go straight to prison, if Newcastle has silly money to spend it’s their problem, time for a club with the size of United to be ruled by reason and logic and to not be taken hostage by football agents or despair to show they are doing something spending big to shut up the fans who want new toys, hope Ten Haag has a say on the type of players hired for the club.
Nobody is paying 100m euros for him. It'll be 60-80 at most IMO.

Real Madrid still has the trio of Kross, Modric and Casemiro, just won the UCL for the 14th times and is already ready with Tchouameni, Camavinga and Valverde. At Man Utd, we have been looking for Roy Keane’s replacement since 2005. Utd's transfer business this summer so far

More reasonable but still have my reservations he is suited to the type of football Ten Haag wants to play.

I dont think he’ll cost more than 70m euros at the top end

This gonna be a deadline day signing. Something like 50 mill + martial or pereira to seal the deal.

Who would you think fits his style better ?
I won’t give specific names but surely better technical players to play on short spaces, against low blocks he has serious weaknesses, and supposedly United won’t be only a counterattack team, where his explosiveness can hurt more the opponents.

That’s more reasonable price, but it would be better to clarify if the signings are done according to ETH opinion.

I doubt we’ll sign a player he doesn't sign off

If we signed him he’d be chasing his first touch around Old Trafford. If Liverpool sign him he’ll be a Kane-Ruud hybrid.

Been a Scouse brief it seems

Would be very interesting seeing Liverpool and Citeh with fixed no.9's next season after all the talk of the game moving away from them due to their success without any for a while.

I fear that Nunez under Klopp would become their Kun Aguero...

He played well against us but not like a £85m striker or anywhere close to that money imo. I don't think we will be paying that much for him, but it seems we are determined to bring in a striker or forward, so there's that at least.

Would be open to him coming here, think we could do another out and out 9 - however I wouldn't go for it at £85m (and can't see we will)

My personal opinion, and this has nothing to do with him playing for Benfica, would say the same if it was coming from Sporting, I sincerely doubt he is the type of player wanted by Ten Haag, more laughable was reading posts here saying he would bench Ronaldo, yes he is younger and presses more, but from the technical point of view he is average even if he is explosive when he has space to run, but I doubt Ten Haag will play counterattacking football against the big teams like Benfica did in the Champions League or in the big games in Portugal, let alone the ridiculous price they are asking, surely there are better options on the market for the prices they are demanding.
I’m not a fan either, but Ten Hag was playing a literal lump up front for Ajax in Haller. Maybe he’s into these types of strikers.

It’s always the way online. Fans go mental over one particular player and then if he goes somewhere else - or looks like it - they lose their shit, as if that binary option they created in their heads actually meant there were no other players for us to buy.

But he's a Uruguayan Andy Carroll, has no technique, can't control the ball blah blah

Klopp seems pretty keen, what does he know :wenger: Guess that leaves us with Teemo Pukki.

He'll probably be good player for the however.

Wonder who we'll go for now.

Watch as we fail to sign even a single one of Ten Hag's targets and start the next season with Ronaldo, Bruno, McFred, Varane, Maguire, Rashford, Sancho, Shawberto and Dalot. It's Mourinho all over again. Grim.

Not sure who we'll go for as that looks like Nunez and Nkunku off the table for us. If we want a striker similar to Nunez, I liked the look of Zapata at Atalanta in the brief times I've seen them play, though he's not been prolific. Schick maybe?

I don't see any chance of him going to Liverpool. They don't tend to spend lots of money on just one player.

Liverpool will go and find another Diaz or Jota, someone in the £30-40m bracket, and within their system make them look like a £70-80m player.

It hurts, as a United fan, to see how seemless and smart their recruitment is. However, these links with Liverpool feel like classic spook Man Utd into putting down big money tactics.

That's not to say Liverpool haven't had a look at the guy. However, we've seen this loads in recent years. Liverpool will look at players and if the values go to crazy they'll back out and find someone else. Worse, that 'someone else' will almost always perfectly slot into their side. I'm incredibly bitter they haven't had more Minaminos. Feels like tasting vomit in my mouth to see how well they identify profiles of players and bring them into their team.

It won't be £85m. I reckon he'll go for £50-60m.
