This is going well. Welcome to another season of Andreas Pereira, Chong, Van de Beek, Martial the moody, Marcus the benevolent and Bruno the gambler in attack.
Why is Bruno in there?

Yeah, to be honest, anyone who actually wants to sign for us probably isn’t worth having. With so many players kicking and screaming to not sign for the club, we don’t have many options
Had read a tweet from Fab sometime back that ETH wants to keep the negotiations and interests under the wrap to avoid drumming up opposition interests and media speculations.
I’ll try and stay positive and hope that we’ll pull a couple of rabbit from the hat signings this season
This isn't true, but you do need good scouts to find these hidden gem players and we don't appear to have those.Yeah, to be honest, anyone who actually wants to sign for us probably isn’t worth having.
Eeek, Woodward's back at the club...I actually don't understand why fans are so obsessed with signings. Signings are not the key issue here, it is how the manager understands the squad that is important here.
It is highly possible that we may only make 1 signing or even none at all, but it is not a problem as the manager's perspective is always different from the fans. We are only deciding that the squad is pathetic based on what we see but the issues may be due to lack of confidence, fitness etc which is also a strong possibility. Hence why ETH kept on reiterating that this squad was 2nd the season before. The academy has loads of talents waiting to explode which gives a strong outlook for the upcoming season.
Be patient and wait for the manager's assessment. Dont invest your time into reading articles and media nonsense when they (media) have no idea about what is exactly happening at the club. From what I see, the changes seems to be in terms of structure so that the football operations are more effective.

Cant agree with the original poster. We are losing a lot of experienced players, there are question marks over many others. Look at Maguire really poor again for England again last night. We need 3 signings minimum to have a hope of top 4, and I am sure the manager wants that as well. Problem is our budget is constrained and we are no longer as appealing nor throwing money around like we used to. Not in itself a bad thing but will be a painful period of adjustment. You Sir are a destroyer!
We don't need any signings. Where have we heard this before.Eeek, Woodward's back at the club...

Good on ya mate.My answer to the comment has multiple components.
I want ETH to succeed, but he better not be as delusional as any of his predecessors were with that squad of players because those backstabbers will strike unless ETH strikes first. Making sure that players are fit is not a matter than can be solved in one summer; it requires undoing years of cumulated bad habits and getting rid of remaining bad apples.
- The current squad has been plenty responsible for making 3-4 managers lose their jobs at United (including Rangnick, who went full frontal in tackling all football-related issues).
- We already let 4 players run out of contract. They all had to go because there was just no future left for them, but replacing them with men with lots of upsides is imperative.
- We still have players under contract and yet are just not good enough for this club by any stretch (like McTominay and our D-corps).
- We also have Marcus Rashford, who has never shown any form of resilience when things got tough for him. I also consider him as a major responsible for our managerial failures and as a less-than-desirable character to keep in the dressing room.
- We have seen City execute Order 66 on their own squad in order to meet Pep's demands after he saw who was not worth keeping despite a league title won 3 years earlier. Twelve players got axed that summer while 6 new face came the other way in.
- We may have some kids ready to play in the first team, but we need enough leaders and other regulars to set the bar where it should be set.
And feck the Glazers and their tight budget.

Think we’re really going to struggle to land top talents who would improve us for reasonable fees. With so many players kicking and screaming to not sign for the club, we don’t have many options
The problem for me is the culture in the club. We worship our players if they’re bringing in commercial revenue or are from the youth team. We need someone in the club, not just the manager, who says “we’re Manchester United, this is what’s expected of you and this is how we do it”. We’ve completely lost that in recent years whilst city and pool have developed and refined it.I actually don't understand why fans are so obsessed with signings. Thought he resigned a couple of months ago?Well if it’s true Matt judge is still involved in negotiations then it’s going to be a long and drawn out summer window.
People say this shite every year. All the top clubs have a player through the door already, or are putting the finishing touches to it.Window opens on 10th June…
People never learn it's incredible.People say this shite every year. All the top clubs have a player through the door already, or are putting the finishing touches to it.
United clearly aren't close to anything yet. It does actually matter to get business done swiftly.
United are usually the team who are slowest off the blocks and then unsurprisingly the team with one of the worst transfer records of recent times.
Exactly. Completely agree.People never learn it's incredible.
We can still have a good summer, but we absolutely should have a deal or two in place right now. It's so urgent we should be acting faster than any other club.

On the positive side our youngsters will get plenty of game time. From last season 7 players have left: Pogba, Matic, Lingard, Mata, Cavani, Grant, Greenwood.
Other players look certain to leave: Henderson, AWB, Bailly, Jones, Tuanzebe, Martial. That's another 6.
Senior players remaining at the club will then be:
2 GK: De gea, Heaton
3 FB: Dalot, Shaw, Telles
3 CB: Varane, Maguire, Lindelöf
2 CM: McTominay, Fred
2 AM: Bruno, Van de Beek
3 WF: Sancho, Rashford, Elanga
1 CF: Ronaldo
We need to sign 6 players to have two options for each position: 1 FB, 1 CB, 2 CM, 1 WF and 1 CF. And looking at the options above we need to improve the quality in almost all areas.
Unless the plan is to rely on youngsters like Williams, Mengi, Garner, Hannibal, Chong, Amad or Garnacho for major game time, we really need to start signing some players.
This isn't just a problem for United in seasons where a new manager is in, this is a consistent problem year after year. Last season was probably one of our best Summers, yet not one of our 3 new signings started the new season. It's poor planning and it affects the squad as you're then bedding them in during the season when it should be happening in pre-season, so points get lost early on.Those teams usually have been working on transfers over the last few months, out manager literally just came in to the club give him a chance to assess the squad before seeing where he needs to strengthen.

Also reliable United-based journalists have already said that Ten Hag has discussed specific players he wants, about a month ago now.
Add in the players we've already lost this Summer. United should absolutely 100% be getting the first player in about now.
I hope so.I agree we are a shambles in almost everything we do.
When ETH announced he was leaving Ajax early I thought maybe he would come in identify the problem areas of the team and have a few players ready to sign, still might happen before pre season but also might not.
This year with all the changes behind the scenes im going to give them some leeway, hopefully they will have learned from past mistakes and this bodes well for us going forward.
I hope so.
They fly away on the pre-season tour in about a months time, so I certainly hope the majority of the deals are done by then. But nothing seems imminent.
