Seems like Bruno has zero good will amongst the United fans nowadays. I for one still rate him highly though.

Saying that I think Eriksen would be a decent start in our summer transfer business.

That actually amounts to an argument you just get good players and use them, as opposed to building a clear system and recruiting players to fit specific needs and fulfill specific roles. I disagree with that 100%. It is the root cause of everything that's been wrong with United's recruitment during the past decade.
no it doesn’t because if we did get him it’s because ETH feels he can fit into the system and help us to become competitive again. We actually have a manager who has a system.

I fully trust ETH to make that call, I’m just a fan who has a opinion. I’m a massive Eriksen fan and I think with his mentality and skill set he would do well here. He’s what we need on levels that actually go just beyond football.

but again, I’m going to trust ETH and sit back and see what happens.

Bruno needs a kick up the arse. He's had no competition since he joined. This could be the incentive he needs.

The poster above you said he hasn't played well in 2years. Dude was signed in January 2020 and was arguably the best player in the league in the 2020/2021 season but he has played bad in the last TWO YEARS...

He’s a quality player. All I’ll say on that for now.

At least we’ll be a threat with set piece delivery again.

Sure but the way fans talk about him you'd think he's one of our worst signings ever.

So many exaggerated opinions of our players in general though. You're either great or sh*t.

I've always rated Eriksen very highly, and in fact hoped that we signed him from Ajax all those years ago.
But this transfer now, just seems like "have something because its cheap" and that will appease the fans.

Would a Midfield of Eriksen and De Jong work?
How does Bruno or Donny fit into that equation?
Where's your ball winner?
It just feels like another Midfield imbalance to me.

Still can't get out of my head how awful he was his last season and a half at Spurs. Should be brought in strictly as a mata replacement.

Could see Fred, De Jong and Eriksen work very well in a three. Bruno has no business being a cemented starter the way he's played the last two years.
2 years? 2 years ago he scored 28 goals for us and had 17 assists.

Yep he’s been shit for 2 years apparently. Despite him scoring 28 goals in one of those seasons.

No no no no no. This is going back to when he signed Cavani and Alexis.
How exactly? Alexis looked shot for a good year before he joined us and Cavani was without a club and coming back from an injury. Eriksen has been in great form and has made a night and day difference to Brentford's form and play.

But sure, this is comparable to Cavani and Alexis.

Eriksen is a very consistent player and the sort of player that will do a job without a fuss, just lost Mata, Matic, Pogba and Lingard in one go. Don’t know why anyone would object to a high quality replacement for free?

Can anyone see us signing him if Spurs are genuinely interested and also make a bid?

Once again our elite scouting team handpicked by Murtough and co had discovered hidden gems like De Jong and Eriksen. It would add to other hidden gems such as Varane, Sancho, Cavani and Ronaldo.

Hopefully signing him allows us to cash in on Van de Beek. No point in all of them, and somebody needs to buy someone for Manchester United!

Did you forget Eriksen had two pretty average seasons at Tottenham and then Inter before his injury at Euro 2020?

I don't think Eriksen has been in "great" form, and even then there's a massive difference between Brentford and United.

In either case, we really need to be focusing elsewhere and that is the exact type of signing we used to feck up in the past. Going back to guys like Schweinstieger, great players who were well past it by the time they came to us.

He is a better passer of the ball than any player in our current squad. He is a better set piece taker than any player in our current squad. He costs nothing. A no brainer, hopefully he picks us.

I don't think our set-pieces are the sole issue.
The issue is we have very, very few players willing to make something out of them.
Ronaldo and Maguire, with his ability to balloon the ball over the bar from 2 yards out, are the only two players who commit themselves. Rashford, Martial, Sancho are instinctively appalling in the box.

I suppose there's a case for seeing it like that. Still hard to make sense of in terms of priorities though. Like a lot of players we're being linked with currently.

De Jong is a deep lying playmaker/box 2 box. Eriksen is more of a no 10
We've also lost Lingard and Mata who were attacking midfielders so he could replace them.

FDJ is the Pogba replacement in theory. We still need a DM as we havent signed one since matic.

He didn't have 2 average seasons and in the last season it was obvious that his head was with inter and it seemed like Levy had broken another gentlemen's agreement.

He's objectively been in great form, he turned Brentford's season around. I don't know how you could watch Brentford and not notice the influence he has on their play.

I remember other than #10 he can play as a play maker in the right wing. He will have option this summer being a free agent. He is from the school of ajax, has lots of EPL experience, so i can understand why Ten Hag is interested in his service for his system.

Why? Because I'm unsure how he fits in with what we have and with what we need.
Also, I am always concerned that we again try to squeeze a square peg into a round hole, pat ourselves on the back and say, that's Midfield sorted.

Yeah, but a lot of that isn’t true. It’s paper talk and click bait. They don’t actually know much. We’re probably working on things that no one knows about. Wouldn’t surprise me at all.

If this means Donny getting sold then I guess it makes sense but if the plan is to keep VDB then it doesn't make much sense to me. Eriksen as a replacement for VDB/Lingard is good business.

Aren't these guys, by most accounts, ETH choices? They're two players he knows personally very well. I don't blame him coming into a job like this wanting to work with players he knows well.

How dare they make wise choices!!

Those other signings were under Woodward also. Get your facts straight before you carry on with your little sad agenda.

Thank god for he ignore list, anyway.
