I'm not against him as the source, more the fact it was a nothing article that didn't tell us anything other than selling club wants lots of money.
For the most part, I agree, but there was one key detail at the end that highlighted how limited our transfer budget is, which @Reapersoul20 shared with his most recent Tweet.

Exactly, god knows why people are even pretending like its one or the other. Any chance to moan about even some actual good news I guess or they haven't watched both play.

Get him in, we don't have anyone with his skill set in our squad.
It's from Ornstein himself that's why people mention it. It seems United have identified Eriksen as an alternative to FDJ which sounds bonkers.

EDIT: Well it seems Ornstein edited his article that amateur.

Strong claims from every major outlet in Portugal, sounds like a brief from someone close.
If I just read the Record and A Bola reports, then I wouldn't even take it seriously. The O Jogo report, however, is real interesting. They state that Jorge Mendes actually met up with both Manchester United and Barcelona last week. However, even they don't state that Vitinha was necessarily discussed in that meeting.

Honestly, there's barely anything to go off of besides that one Jorge Mendes meeting. If this was planted in by someone from either Porto or Vitinha's camp, then why aren't the other Portuguese outlets reporting this (Jornal de Notícias, Correia da Manhã)?

we have no money then :(
From what I've seen in our Q3 report, the only reason we have close to £96m in cash as of March 31 is because of the £40m that we took out from our credit line. Otherwise, we'd have really struggled to bring in new signings. With the wages that we've freed up, I think our finances will look much better for the next window, and this window will be about us taking the first steps towards building Ten Hag's team.

This Frenkie deal will spunk most of our budget. To be honest who the hell is buying any of our players? I’d be surprised if we sold even one. Loans incoming.

We’ve not a pot to piss in. We’re going for free agents who play completely different roles instead.

The CAF: JUST PAY THE MONEY!

Also the CAF: We waste sooo much money.

Also the CAF when United are trying to get their money's worth: WE'RE SKINT!
The hysteria is worse than ever this summer already I agree.

It is not about money here. It is about our way of doing business. Always late with transfers and always whole summer sagas. Donny is the only player who we have signed quickly. Every summer the same

I like the fella but this Eriksen deal looks a bit desperate, for one of the biggest clubs in the world to go for a 30 year old, free agent with a defibrillator.

Glazers have really fecked this club.

It seems "quicker" for everyone else because we're not looking at those deals as closely as we do our own.

Who's to say Liverpool weren't looking at Nunez for weeks if not months before us?

Liverpool still haven't actually signed Nunez yet and I know it's only a matter of time, but for all the speed that they get praised for, it's gone rather quiet.

Lets see what happens. So far, pattern is the same as it was last few years.

I think after the worst season (in a lot peoples lifetime) patience is at it’s lowest right now. Whether that is right or wrong is another thing but for me personally at least, I believe our appeal has never been lower so I would like to get a signing agreed soon to calm the nerves.

Jesus, some of the people on here I would dread to see how they would deal with a genuine crisis in their life. The theatrics, crying and moaning FOUR days after the window opens, makes me think they wouldn’t fair too well.

We've been a clown show for the last decade and still always signed players. We've got the highest net spend in the league over recent seasons too. Getting the right ones is the key.

Fans are getting a bit ridiculous if you ask me.

Every club has gone through the same pattern as United has for their transfers. The difference is that our players didn't work out as well for various reasons whilst theirs mostly did.

We've all been here before. We know how incompetent we are and there's no reason to believe anything is going to change.

It's good to have faith but at this point it's just blind faith.

There is a difference though, Liverpool already have a great team/squad that only needs a slight upgrade. So not much rush there, no need to panic, they will be challenging next season no matter how the transfer window goes.

We just had our worst ever PL season, some of the players clearly not up to standards. So the squad needs a big turn-over and with a new manager, who has a unique playing style, you need things done quickly to give them time to settle in. We don't have the luxury of integrating players during the season, like City or Liverpool can afford to. The current United team is not good enough, you need the new players to come in and kick on right away.

Also, feels like fans always moan about others moaning about slow transfers. Look how it turns out for us, last season a great example.

I'm not paninicing, but if nothing happens within the next 2 weeks then it's not a good sign.

Why the hysteria? Which clubs besides City signing Haaland have signed a top class or first team player?
Well there is that - but the difference is, City or Liverpool dont need 4 new players - we do

€25m apart is quite some gap. Unless Barca fold, I can't see this one happening. Shades of the failed Cesc transfer in 2013.

Fabian Ruiz is reportedly available for €30m and, like De Jong, is a superb passer who excels at progressing the ball from deep. If we got him and a combative, physical DM in, our midfield would be transformed. It's not necessarily Frenkie or bust.

But it's all based on nonsense. We sign plenty of players every single summer.

I'd understand if we didn't but we always do.
