Liverpool and City are signing Nunez and Haaland, meanwhile United…
We can't worry about what they are doing. Neither of them will be our direct rivals next season and so they aren't our rivals during this summer's window, either.

We need to present Ten Hag with a team capable of finishing ahead of Arsenal & Spurs next year.

I like the fella but this Eriksen deal looks a bit desperate, for one of the biggest clubs in the world to go for a 30 year old, free agent with a defibrillator.

Glazers have really fecked this club.
oh wow, really?

I think he’s worth a little bit more credit than that.

But it's all based on nonsense. We sign plenty of players every single summer.

I'd understand if we didn't but we always do.
But not the right ones. We will spend all summer chasing De Jong playing chess with Barca and missing out on players who will instantly improve our team for less money.

It's just a brainless transfer policy.

Why are Nunez and Haaland being spoken about like they're equals.
Because United were linked with him and we didn't sign him therefore he is amazing and world class and the second coming of Pele.

No one gave 2 shits about Nunez until about 3 weeks ago and if we had bought him everyone would be questioning why he came to United and why we spent all our budget on a position we didn't need.

God some of our fan base is a mess. You couldn't make up some of the hot-takes people are coming up with. You would think it was August 31st and we hadn't signed anyone while everyone else in the league has signed prime Messi bred with prime Ronaldo.

Liverpool never stopped considering United their rivals during 1993-2013 era. What kind of defeatist mentality is this.

Why would we want Eriksen when Bruno is basically the same player? A slow high risk creative player who can’t dribble.

Not the right ones is correct but you didn't say that.

Thanks to @Rolaholic in the Frenkie De Jong thread:

Source: AS (Ferran Correas)

Correas reports that, in Barcelona's meeting with Mendes, Carlos Soler's name came up. This was only done because there's progress being made on De Jong's sale, so Mendes felt more confident about bringing up Soler as a possible new signing.

And we pissed ourselves laughing at them every year.

Look, we've finished 112 points behind first place across the last four seasons. I'm not saying give up competing with anyone ever again, I'm merely making the point that expecting United to compete for the title next season is absolutely ridiculous - we will be nowhere near it or the teams competing for it, so it's not worth losing sleep over Haaland when we realistically have more to worry about from Conte's Spurs.

Have you ever actually watched them play football. They are quite different players other than both being creative

Spurs are on the cusp of signing 3 players and I’d say all 3 would strengthen our first 11. We are being left behind by our incompetent board. Why do they need to wait until De Jong is done before other deals done?

1) How do you know we aren’t
2) We are said to be also working on the Antony deal
3) We have literally offered Eriksen a deal today

As we have not brought any money in, other signings will be done with whatever money if left I suspect.

Because he's the manager's top priorty and would be the costliest signing influencing what other deals we can do?

Make as many excuses are you want. Season after season it’s the same delays to get players in. What’s the excuse for delaying the Eriksen transfer? He’s a free signing. They could have offered him a contract before the transfer window opened. They clearly don’t have a clue how to do business efficiently.

It’s the nations league and Eriksen wants to take his time to decide. This is real life not football manager!

They are both 8s/10s who try risky stuff and are capable of incredible but are both very wasteful, slow, can’t dribble, and mediocre at shooting. Take up similar positions. How are they so different?

Two quality players for one position is a bad thing now? Bruno needs to be rested more than he has been. We've been far too reliant on him.

Sounds like he could be considering United.
Or maybe even Newcastle if the reports of their interest are true.. He’d get paid a ton and get more playing time whereas with us he’d be a bench player.

I can't imagine they're actually in the running. He has CL Spurs under Conte or Man United under ten Hag as options. He could stay where he is for game time and I've not heard Newcastle are pushing the boat out for wages, are they?

Yeah obviously Spurs or United would get the preference but I just feel like a guy who was okay playing for a club like Brentford would also be okay playing for Newcastle.. also I wouldn’t be the best person to know about Newcastles wage structure but I’m assuming their new owners wouldn’t mind splashing the cash if they can sign a top player like Eriksen..

I think it all comes down to how much game time is he looking for..

I guess with Pogba gone there’s no harm in getting him for free.

The player (Eriksen) wants time to decide on his future - so what should the board do? Kidnap him?

FFS. Complaining just to complain and ignoring that we're literally not only working on the FDJ deal. Tsk.

Him playing for Brentford was a special circumstance. He needed to be somewhere top level to get enough game time to prove himself and also I think knows the manager. If he was a regular free agent he would not have gone there.

We love to moan we don’t get players but then also severely downplay our chances of getting players
Some on here also love to believe every fecking thing they read and that every player wants to join United. I wish it was but It really isn’t the case.

I would take him. He still looks to have what it takes. A little worrying about the muscle in midfield if we brought in FdJ and Eriksen only.
Yeah a CDM still desperately needed, however I fear it could be Fred playing there

I can understand FDJ being a bid money move and taking time.. but why arent we getting other players in?
Pre season starts in less than a month .. we need several players..

There is no way these guys can work on multiple deals at the same time.. there is no evidence of them being that competent. When are we going to get going?
