India ? No chance . I have seen none here. United by absolute far. After that Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea etc
I'm talking about Indian tourists running around in Bayern shirts in Pattaya or Phuket.

United was popular until 10 years ago but don't see as many as before. Even the Man United Cafe in Sukhumvit So 11 closed down for years already.

hmm my englsih is limited...

The tweet about Paredes does it mean he is an alternative to De Jong or he will be the next target once we get De Jong?

Everything said in the sources above are probably true, but completely made up at the same time. Ten Hag wants to get as many signings as possible, and wouldn’t go around telling people that he doesn’t care how much money we spend getting them.

An extra 5-10m budget is massive for a manager looking to clean out his entire squad.

I see none here. It's all PL (majority United then the rest) and the Spanish big 2.
I was only talking about Indian tourists in Thailand, not India itself. Probably they bought the shirts at one of the various markets for a couple of hundred Thai bahts.

It's not fully clear but based on what people have said about his style, the next target rather than a like-for-like alternative.

I’m a Dutch Ajax supporter and follow Frenkie since the European Cup U19. Then he played at Willem 2 and went later to Ajax.

He’s a very interesting player off course like all you know watching him at Barca. Still I have many doubts about him. For instance his position. As a single number 6 he’s not defensive enough imo. He can carry the ball out of defense extremely good but you also have some defensive duty’s at that position. It’s not bad but you have to be 100% concentrated to take on the number 10 of the opposite. He will sometimes loose his man for sure or is too much orientated on possesion. Then in a double pivot where he played at Ajax is what they say his best position. More from the left of the two. Also there he needs to play faster and use the whole field. He tends to play short passes between the lines because it’s in his system but you have to see where the best chances are to create opportunities. So long balls if that’s whats been asked. In this topic i think he’s not so good. To smell where the danger can come and to get the ball there quick. Somtimes he does but not enough. Also keeps the ball to long where players are moving forward but have to stop because the defense is organized again. That split second intuition in lack of better words to create chances. He feels very comfortable in that double pivot role but he needs to be challenged because him being comfortable will be lots of twisting and turning with ball and no quick play.

I personally think he’s the best as a left or right central midfielder with a 6 behind him and the other central midfielder a little bit more attacking. Then it’s his duty to keep possesion, he can dribble a bit and can run all over the field. The 6 keeps his ground covered where in a double pivot the other one will also run forward. He played this position at Barca and i liked him the most at it. Lets hope he will be a succes

It means after we sign FDJ, the next one is Paredes.

So you would still feel that way if it actually meant he's our next top target after securing De Jong
It was a joke but United should stay away from Paredes whether it is as a starter or bench player. We are not talking about a good player and at 28 I don't see what there is to unlock.

I agree with a lot of what you say here. Frenkie‘s long passing and assisting can definitely be better. He does regularly play the ball behind the defense, so it is not like he doesn‘t have it in his locker (hmm)

His short passing: he tends to keep the ball longer if there are no good options, and draw in the other team. Then he‘ll either move the ball along to an open player or dribble. This is his greatest strength.

Defensively, he needs to play with other midfielders who have positional awareness. When he goes forward, someone else is covering. This can also be a full back or center back.

Goldbridge is expecting this to be concluded Thursday or Friday this week and an announcement that we have agreed a fee with Barcelona. Let's see.

if United don't get De Jong this week the tour is only 2 weeks away then. And that will be another few weeks wasted as we never sign players on tour so you are looking at another month if United can't get it over the line before the tour. So a crucial week really to get a body in before the tour. Just to give the club a lift and raise fans up. It's so toxic and negative around United right now.. the club and fans need a signing before the tour..

De Jong will need to return from Las Vegas to do the medical, pimp the shirt, find a house to live etc so I suspect it's this week a deal needs to be agreed or it'll be another month or longer to get United and Barcelona to compromise on a deal.

I just hope if we don't get De Jong we have the Ruben Neves deal ready to go fee Agreed with Wolves etc straight away. We need a new signing for the tour.

I've seen so many Ajax fans happy about this deal. Some are even more happy/excited than fellow United fans
De Jong gets to shine again, hopefully VDB will get to shine again and Ajax will probably get a few million from the deal. Don't see any negatives as an Ajax fan.
And as a United fan i'm really happy if this will happen, De Jong is great and United need him badly.

If Barca don’t need the money anymore and yet they’re still open to selling him isn’t that something of a red flag?

I find it pretty cool to see, honestly. If (hopefully when!) he joins, it's going to bring back some memories for you Ajax fans seeing de Jong and ten Hag together again!

Not really, he's their highest wage earner and they have talented young La Masia products set to make up their midfield for years and have Kessie coming.

It's going to be crowded there soon especially if the somehow manage to get Xavi's dream target in Bernardo Silva.

Freeing up FDJ's wages would go a long way in helping with their summer rebuild.

With everyone's favorite comparison, Real Madrid didn't need to sell ADM after winning La Decima but they did after they ended up signing James Rodriguez but that didn't mean he was a cooked goose. He had plenty of great seasons for PSG and Argentina after

Busquets isn't going to be eternal and unless they're sure Nico can fill the spot at the highest level, they need De Jong. I don't even know what Kessie is going to do there, he doesn't fit the system at all.

Like what? Our manager knows him inside out.

Barca’s wages are still an issue and they need money to bring in players for other positions.

Barca are so skint they're selling their own merchandise profits, an extra 70 mil and 350k a week off the books is a huge help. They're just fortunate to have mad talent in CM.

Indeed fortunate, who saw it coming that two of their teenagers would be playing in the spanish team? Now what they need is better management.

I feel optimistic that we will finally reach a conclusion this week. I'll say Wednesday/Thursday we'll have a "deal agreed" announcement.

I base this on nothing other than "gut feeling".
