All the add-ons could be very difficult to achieve so I'm not too bothered by them.

Monaco are still hoping Martial wins the ballon d'Or.

Yet we out spent them.
The main difference is the manager and the recruitment choices not the amounts spent.
Yep, I think some people just don't want to admit that Liverpool under Klopp have just been outright better than us in terms of their recruitment and maximizing what they get out of their players, not better because of outspending. But rather than make excuses, we should be encouraged by Liverpool's example because there's nothing materially preventing us from turning into a consistent, UCL-competing team within a couple years.

That fee can’t be true surely? If so then what have we been doing for weeks? Honestly we are absolute muppets in the transfer window.

I think you're misunderstanding the situation. If that is indeed the fee then United have successfully negotiated Barcelona down from £80+ million pounds up front to the 69+ add ons.

Edit: perhaps you're thinking in straight euros. We've saved basically 20 m euros

I see all the talk on United needing to sign so many players. Unlike majority here I still believe in some of our players and weird enough I still respect Ralf too but not for his opinion on this one. Signing players for the sake of it has never solved anyones problems.

Look at Chelsea with Tammy Abraham and Giroud . Everyone thought they were upgrading with Lukaku and Werner but they were wrong. Same with Mount and Ziyech or Pulisic.
You can say the same about Sancho so far who hasn’t yet proven to be better than Rashford in this United team.

Don’t get me wrong I would love signings but coaching this team is far more important than any recruitment

This team needs to be coached. Shaw, Maguire , Bailly, Fred, Fernandez Ronaldo, Rashford, Sancho and possibly FDG can’t be a mid table team. Most of us are struggling to come up with Names that will outright improve our first 11.
CM Rice/Phillips/Tielemans/Ndidi/Neves
CM Frankie De Jong
RW Anthony/Rafinha/Dembele/Nkunku
CB Pau Torres

Strangely enough people forget that Berbatov transfer was very long. The last years have seemingly created a lot of impatience.
It's a funny one. Took fans close to 5/6 years to finally accept that Woodward and his associates were terrible. Denial over claims about Disneyland and all that for quite some time. Reality finally hits by the time Woody steps down and the weight of anger and disappointment is being misappropriated onto the new team. At least that's my take on it.

Really?

It isn't difficult

The worry is, even if we get De Jong, he’s just replacing Pogba - who was also a world class player in other settings and with a decent midfield around him - France and Juve - but struggled to do it with us as he was playing with dross and having to try and do it all himself. The same will happen with De Jong unless we give him a decent partner.
No it won't. The same didn't happen to Carrick, Keane, Ince, Robson. Pogba must be the only "world class" midfielder in the history of the club that needed a decent partner.

He did fecking nothing himself, absolute waste of space. Most over rated ball bag of a player ever to play for us. I'm fecking delighted he is gone. Mostly so we dont have to listen to this horse shit any longer about Pogba needing a decent partner, playing in his best position, manager who understands him, or whatever the latest excuse was. We would have been far better off if we had a bang average Scott parker type player in there over the last 6 years. He fecked off to Dubai for his mid winter break unchecked all the while picking up obscene wages.

The fact that the only team that came in for him are the worst Juventus team in the last 30 years should tell you everything you need to know. Good fecking riddance.

There, I feel much better now.

80m with addons is 20m less than what Barca originally wanted.
I dont recall them originally wanting 100m eur. That came out of nowhere after previous lower figures were touted.

I think they just tried their luck mid way with a silly 100m punt and realized swiftly it was ambitious.

That's nearly £80 million isn't it with add ons included, in addition to his very large wages. That's a big financial commitment, he better deliver for us.

Robson was an exceptional player but during the 80s United were as underwhelming as they are today in terms of results. While Carrick, Ince, and Keane had more than decent partners, Carrick and Keane largely had Scholes as their partner and unless I'm mistaken he was decent.

If you’re going to do the ‘with add ons included’ to give the impression of the higher price, then the ‘he better deliver for us’ caveat becomes moot. The price is £69m. At £80m, he’s definitely been very good for us.

Nah, add ons are generally easy to achieve, like play 10 games and play 50 games.

Sorry, who the hell couldn't admit they haven't been shitting all over us of the pitch

Do you think Barca have agreed to add ons like winning the CL or something? They will be easily achievable.
