IF ole and woody were still in place, how different would our transfer targets be?

£100m on Rice for sure and then scramble for a few cheap high profile ones like Bale.

New bumper contract for Pogba and Lingard, too.

We would go for English players with Ole in charge. Now we seems to go all Dutch.

Woodward would have just handed Bale, Rudiger and Lewandowski £750K per week each and then released a statement about how we'd beaten off competition from Manchester City and had the World of football trembling at our knees.

We would bend over backwards for West Ham, and break the transfer record for most expensive English player to get Declan Rice. I truly believe that.

I’d think Rice as the marquee signing (£80m+) and another attacker.

Ole would have tried for Haaland but we’d have missed out due to no CL football anyway.

Rice would be our main target and Woodward would be pushing for Neymar.

We actually might have had transfer targets other than the one midfielder we're currently chasing

Seems consensus is that we would've bought Rice. You guys forgetting that he plays in midfield?

My wit's end
Rice (lots of interest shown since last window)
Jonathan David (fits the high-pressing style Ole was focussed on until Ronaldo was bought by Woodward)
Nkunku (as above)
A rightback who can fill the Trippier shaped hole in the squad... maybe someone like Celik

Bellingham would have been a target in 2023. In fact, he probably still will be.

If Ole wanted rebuild the midfield he would go full on Rice-Phillips and City wouldn't do much about it. Both would be starters.

Eriksen would be offered a contract, almost sure of it, even during Ole reign Mata couldn't play full 90 minutes.

Don't think we'd have gone for Lewandowski with Ronaldo still here. Would have definitely tried and failed to get both Phillips and Rice. Weren't we linked with Ings at one point? I think, apart from midfielders, he wanted a cheap back up striker and a RB.

We'd be looking at good solid reliable players who could get Mick McCarthy or Chris Hughton out of the Championship.

Probably wouldn’t just be googling Ajax players but god knowes what we would get instead . Whoever’s agent made themselves most attractive to Woodward I suspect.

Chase Rice in vain till August but offering 50 then 60 then 70 mill before giving up, when WH want 120 mill. Pay 70 mill for McGinn in the last week and bring Bale in on 500k a week and say these were the transfers they were after. Cave in on Pogba and Lingard giving them new contracts.

You'd all be slagging them off no matter what. I'm old enough to remember last week when you were all crying tears of rage.

Since when did we press under Ole after his interim stint?

Actually think it’s hard to say. Who would have assumed Ronaldo, Sancho, and Varane would’ve been Ole’s targets before we signed them?

No idea. Though I know that if we were only signing players Solskjaer had worked with or Eredivisie players then he’d be getting absolutely slaughtered.

I'm not anti Scottish, I just wanted Moyes out.

That's because he mostly worked with rubbish players in a shit league before coming to United.
