Journalist sees FdJ deal is almost done.
Suddenly starts seeing Malacia rumours

Claims it is because of free money from FdJ deal. Just making up stories all the time
That's not what he claimed though, he says that sealing FDJ frees up the club negotiating wise to work on other deals as it's been reported the last few weeks, not freeing funds.

It's no coincidence that we immediately heard of another deal we're about to complete on the heels of all the 'FDJ being finalized' reports came out over the last day or so

Yep, the press are just a step or 2 behind as usual.

People like to think we do all our work noisily and in public, but the truth is they only hear what we want to.

Clearly the Malacia deal has been performed swiftly (Redcafe in disbelief)

I hope we never do a deal with Barcelona again.
Why? We're getting a great deal

You don't just go to clubs like Barca and take their best players (regardless of if they need the money). It was the same with Real last summer with Varane

As long as FDJ is signed in time for when he's due to report for pre-season then there's no problem

Manchester is a lovely old town and I would recommend it to anyone (especially footballers - they don't even have to live there, and they usually don't).

It doesn't piss down half as much as people claim either.

And even when it's pissing down, it's still a lovely old town. Anyone who says otherwise can feck right off.
The piss down in Manchester is part of the charm, it wouldn't be as good without the rain.

Not to mention that Manchester is the birthplace and current hotspot for particle physics research …if you’re into that sort of thing. I want to visit just for that alone.
I can't believe he put History on the list, must be surely on a wind up.

He couldn't of typed that shit if it wasn't for us making the first computer in this great city.

United had losses during the pandemic and to be able to sign they would need to recover them, this is how the FFP works in Spain.
And how is United going to recover them if they are not able to sell to anyone and have also lost the income of the Champions League?
United could not sign anyone either this year or the previous year and would be in the situation of Barcelona. The advantage is that you could do a capital increase and Barcelona can't.

Barcelona's debt last year is inflated by approximately €250M, even Tebas denounced the economic accounts.
Laporta here shot himself in the foot while doing this.

By the way 1.3B is gross debt. Net debt is approximately €650M.
I'm not sure what you are arguing about here, Barcelona finances was mismanaged by that criminal Bartemou or whatever his name is, during the pendamic, the losses were 97m, the year after it was 450m!! United didn't report losses of 450m, the ratio of salaries to revenue at Barcelona was closer to 100% at one time, it's under 50% at United, you had to ask players to take salary cuts, some agreed to deferred salary payments, Manchester United never had to do that, I'm not sure why you even comparing Barcelona's financial state to United!!!

And what capital increase United did?? United usually don't sell players that well, but the club's finances aren't in dire state as it's in Barcelona.

Anyway, to bring this discussion to an end, Barca has huge financial problems, it's a simple fact, regardless of how it happened, it's impacting Barca's ability to sign players, it's also an issue when Barca tries to sell players, buying clubs (e.g. United trying to buy De Jong) will take advantage of Barca's desperate financial situation, these are simple facts.

Beautiful irony

It’s weird too. They have Ferran Torres, Memphis, and Aboomerang. Their defence is terrible, and they need wingers (Fati has been injured a lot and Dembele is leaving. I think Adama Traore is leaving too). I’m confused why they would pay that much money, money they don’t have, for Lewa.

I hope we never do a deal with Barcelona again.
I hope we do if we get players of this quality.

People on here getting their knickers in a twist that it hasn't been completed according to their own personal timetable and Barcelona having the temerity to negotiate in their own interests isn't a reason to cut all ties.

It's all fairly normal stuff. Two big clubs negotiating for a top player for a lot of dough.

If Barca continue to have financial troubles and have to sell quality players for fraction of the market price in the future, I am all for Murtough and United to buy such players from Barcelona because such thing doesn't happen often.

Btw, it’s Frenkie de Jong. The ‘d’ is not a capital. Like Ruud van Nistelrooij or Edwin van der Sar.
Yes, thank you. Finally someone who gets it. It's been doing my head in to a point where I'm planning to make topic about this in the general (if we actually end up signing Frenkie).

Robin van Persie, Louis van Gaal, Raimond van der Gouw. They're Dutch people with Dutch names. It's the fecking Belgians who would use a capital letter, like for Kevin De Bruyne. But Erik ten Hag is not Belgian, neither is Frenkie de Jong now is he.

SO PLEASE STOP USING feckING CAPITAL LETTERS IN THEIR NAMES INCORRECTLY. Reading that shit constantly makes me want to bang my head against my keyboard, although I understand it's a very difficult concept if you're not familiar with it, more so because you do use capital letters when you're only using their surname, like with Ten Hag.

So it is Charles De Ketelaere

and Matthijs de Ligt & Stefan de Vrij

Hopefully now we can get about signing the other 6 players we need to make us have a genuine chance to do something this season. Martinez next would be a good starting point.

Apparently Barca still owe Ajax 48m for the transfer.. + his agent fee + whatever bonus he is due..
