fRENKIE DE jONG must be getting close considering we’re now discussing European naming nuances. Pretty sure that puts us at 97% done.

I'd trade their mess for our mess in a split second if we had won at least one more CL and couple PL titles...
And we could've easily
If Pep's Barca never existed. We could have played them ten times in a CL final and we'd be lucky to even win one.

Time for the removal of my Jong. Doesn’t quite roll off the tongue though.. wait that didn’t sound right.

The important part:

United's protracted seven-week pursuit of De Jong is expected to be finalised in a €65million (£56.14m) deal plus add-ons. It is understood the initial fee will be paid in instalments.
Some great negotiations by the team. Leaves us with plenty of cash spare for other targets!

Barca are considerably the worst run big club in world football. It is staggering what a mess they're in.
Andy Mitten, who covers Barcelona and United, spoke about it before and it's quite interesting. We all know there's a lot of politics at play but apparently they just went through this mad period where they'd feel pressured to sign every player the fans wanted (I think to stay in power? but don't quote me on that) and to do so they basically blew through all their money paying ridiculous fees for players like the £100m+ for Dembele.

I think where Madrid were winning CL after CL too, it put pressure on them to do things to appease the fanbase. But that's my words, not his.

Kind of interesting that Luckhurst has gone with this quite early. I believe him but would be nice for some other journos to chime in and corroborate.

I'm fine with it
we just need de ligt to get the infamous trio back together - de jong, donny and de ligt. It’s crazy that literally the whole of football wanted them three and we are about to have two of them  Really hope donny kicks on with us under ETH.

exciting stuff

Whatever you do, don't watch the 8-2 Bayern massacre. Just imagine he missed that game.
Van Persie got 8-2'd by us once also. That didn't seem to effect him too badly in the future ;)

If true it's a massive win for Murtough, from an optics perspective alone while the deal feels like it dragged we didn't pay stupid money and negotiated a really favourable deal for the club. Hopefully a sign of us no longer being bent over during every major transfer.
