Is it now assumed he's taking the piss or is there still an incoming bombshell?
Turned out to be about Raphinha, suspected it would be him or Lewa

He dismissed that it was FDJ/Neymar/Messi related a few times on his stream

Barca in for Raphinha, not Frenkie related

Edit: well maybe they got a sudden influx of cash... So maybe related
how do they plan on signing Lewa and Raphinha in the same window when they have no funds? they need bloody defenders not adding more attacking players

Barcelona have their starters on defense and they are young. It's upfront that they need to increase the quality.

I already have a thread in mind for the 22/23 season once we finish this deal. I'll need to practice my gif making first, though.

If it is true that De Jong wants to stay at Barca we would be mad to sign him. We have been burned before by getting players to OT who don't actually want to be there. Hopefully just paper talk.

Araujo and who else is young and high quality?

García and Dest haven’t impressed at all and look squad player level at best.

Ploy to extract a higher salary from us. Its clear he has already told ETH that he wants to join. Also keeps the Barca fans onside if the deal breaks down.

I don't know if its been mentioned before but I'm getting Di Maria vibes from this transfer.

They have also signed Christensen. And also pursuing two more from Chelsea.

Bear in mind that negative talk surrounding our club tends to draw more clicks. Journos use that to their advantage as often as possible, especially when a transfer is close to a conclusion.

They should move on from them which leave them with at least Araujo, Mingueza, Garcia, Wagué and Baldé. These are players that are young and should be given significant game time before moving to something else and they have the veteran players to support them.
Upfront as quality players they have Dembélé and Aubameyang, then they have two younger players in Ferran and Fati, Memphis is serviceable but not good enough and then it's the likes of Braithwaite, De Jong and Adama Traoré. Most of these players have no future at Barcelona and are definitely on the transfer list.

Of course they could sign a defender but it's not as important as bringing actual quality in the last third, especially if they lose Dembélé.

Edit: I forgot Christensen, thanks Rozay.

I hope Tancredi Palmeri has christened the ‘bomb’ with a ‘BOOM!’

I must admit I took the wording of bomb quite literally for about 10 seconds and thought Basque Separatists were at it again.
We've had too much of Bombs and Hijacking in the last 24 hours for my liking.

I can almost tell you word for word how his first interview will go.
Wasn’t thinking about leaving Barca, although he was not too happy about his playing position there, but once Barca and Xavi informed him that the club had no choice but to put him up for sale, there was only one club and manager for him. After talks with ETH about his position and plans for United and De Jong, he’s been incredibly excited about the move and can’t wait to get started.

We are just waiting for the new shirt to drop before they do the pictures, that's fairly obvious no?
