Again, if you believe it’s still on fair enough but to me this looks completely dead, beyond resuscitating. I’ll leave this thread at that anyway, don’t wanna drag everyone down with my negativity.
Well if you want to believe that, then thats fine.
Simple fact is there has been absolutely no brief from United to say otherwise, and if things had gone tits up, we'd have briefed LONG before anyone said anything on the Barca side.
If we get a brief in the coming hours, then yeah we know it's done, but until then, i have no idea why people are going mad about a few quotes that literally ANY club president would make

Would you take a 100% cut in wages to stay a club where you feel you’re used incorrectly?

Yeah I don’t think that’s happening. Frenkie agreeing to cut his wage in half, no chance.
Don’t think it will be 100 percent but I dont think he would earn the 350k or whatever it’s rising to next season at United anyway. He loves it there, he clearly said this and how he wanted to stay then fecked off on holiday. By going on that holiday it has provided silence that the media have been able to fill. I think he comes back and kills this transfer with one short interview. He’ll back himself to outlast Xavi or play his way in. Plenty of other players have successfully done that in the past

Maybe United have pulled the plug because they couldn’t agree terms with FdJ? This could be a face saving exercise by Barcelona.

Again, we wouldn't go through all the hassle of negotiating with Barca if we hadn't already had assurances that the personal terms wouldn't be an issue. That would be an absolute waste of time.

Hmmm... Doesn't he need the Frenkie money to register these lads?

Sounds dodgy to me. We’ve pushed our kit release back and now they are registering players and making large bids. It’s not the Langlet money or the levers.

Always wise to take most of what people say at this time of year with a pinch of salt, but those quotes are pretty discouraging.

Best guess is either the deal is dead or another interested party have entered the scene and Barca are trying to create a bidding war. Either way, it definitely does not look like De Jong is joining United any time soon.

Doesn't it also strike you as strange that he's talking about Raphinha and that he really wants to come to Barca.
As i say, where is the money coming from? Yes they sold their tv rights, but that'll likely go to balancing the books. They need to sell to buy, yet suddenly there flush with cash to make all these bids.

We keep saying this but they keep bidding on players. At what point do we actually admit they are able to sign these players in a way that satisfies all parties that we aren’t aware of or if it isn’t that big of a deal? It’s not like they’re bluff bidding here.

My god the people in this thread have zero bottle

Laporta could tell you he loves his family and sell them the next morning.

They're just making noise because we are clearly being stubborn to their demands and not giving into everything they desire. It'll get done.

Have some patience, barca DESPERATELY need money.

the new kit delay was to do with Ronaldo in my opinion. Highly embarrassing to sell tonnes ofRonaldo 7 shirts then him want to leave the next day…

If he takes a wage cut they don’t need to sell

Barca literally signed Aguero and couldn't register him. They are quite frankly stupider than you think.

So why couldn’t they bid and register players before?

Why would that delay a kit launch? You could just edit the player out simple.
If a player is joining, you'd need time to get them photographed in the kit etc.

Plus Ronaldo said he wants to leave today, plenty of time for people to ditch their plans for getting their Ronaldo 7 shirt

Even if he offered to play for free they'd still need to make money somewhere.

The whole reason it's got to this point is they DO need to sell and FDJ is disposable.

Ask yourself why it would have ever got this far if they didn't? you've lost your head

They didn’t stupidly sell their tv rights before now? Fans keep pointing to De Jong but De Jong can’t fund both Raphinha and Lewandowski so there’s leeway there somewhere that we aren’t aware of.
