I’m going to be completely hyperbole here but he’s basically Luka Modric.

There's only one United!
He’s one player I really want to see/hope makes it here. I’m British-Asian myself and it feels so proud seeing someone from the same background as me playing for Manchester United.

I thought he was very good. Very calm, composed and didn’t feel intimidated when Liverpool brought on the likes of Fabinho, Thiago etc.
I agree with you.
He can have a great future in front of him given more games and introduced Into the first team.

Looked very good. Never really saw much of him before, but the little bits he showed, Frenkie would be the perfect mentor to him.

As someone who hasn’t seen him play before, what are his strengths?
Is he purely a technical player or are there some tackles in him as well?

Agreed, bit weird for others to possibly read but it's almost emotional to see it. Been wanting to see a south Asian do it for so long.

He will not be loaned out imo. Will definitely be in the squad. He has impressed me before, but today it was different. Raw, but not that raw either. Either way, very good game from him. Exciting times.

A lot of British south Asians will be rooting for him. It’s just brilliant for the community to see someone from the same background as ourselves representing one of the biggest clubs in the world and not looking like if he is out of his depth at this level. Everyone wants to see him make it as he’ll be such an inspiration to so many young British south Asian football players if he does.

We all know so many youngsters come through this academy that look good at youth/reserve league level but not all of them will make it as some may just not be quite good enough to make that step-up to the 1st team. The jump from youth/reserve football to 1st team football is a gigantic one, particularly when it comes to clubs like ourselves.

Technically gifted lad. Not a hard-tackling player but one that can decide outcome of the game. If properly nurtured under ETH, I see him doing wonders

It’s kind of mad how few role models there’s been for South Asian kids until now. You wonder if it just takes one player to break the mould and then the floodgates open. Hopefully Iqbal can blaze a trail!

The boys got something doesn't he?

Takes the ball under pressure really well, the tight turning circle and low centre of gravity allows him to wriggle away, and he's comfortable dribbling out of danger.

Obviously needs to work on a few things but these are the type of midfielders we need. If he works hard he's got a great chance.

Well he sort of came out of nowhere (if you do not follow youth football as much). Looked comfortable but then again Liverpool are a week or 2 behind us in fitness. Being half South Asian myself, even if from the other side, I really want to see him succeed, whether at United or in the prem at least. Great cameo from the boy.

Wow, kid is great. Didn't knew that. So he is some kind of central midfield playmaker. Mix between 8 and 10?

Delighted that ten Hag rates him. I’ve said for years he’s quality. Obviously a big step up to the premier league but he’s got great potential.
Mainoo as well.

He was fantastic, probably the player that impressed me the most today.

Passed backwards a lot as did savage, but very impressed with his control, use of ball and turning ability in tight spaces, very de jong esque. Very interesting young player, lets see how he develops.
