It's a shitty situation for frenkie no doubt I mean he has a life and will be settled in Barcelona. I'd be seriously annoyed at how barca have handled this if I was him. But I also wouldn't want to be forced to live in a new country either which it seems he doesn't want.

I just hope ETH can work his magic and get him settled quickly.
I mean that's life, people move from their dream jobs/clubs sometimes and just adapt. Beckham moved on from United when he didn't want to leave, sometimes you aren't good enough, sometimes the club can't afford you, sometimes the club plans in a different way. Its not a huge deal and it happens relatively often that a player leaves their dream club.

He agreed a reduced wage and a higher salary in final two years. From my understanding he signed an new contract (I might be wrong) with this lower wage. His higher wage hasn't kicked in yet. Think when he signed a new contract barca have him by the balls
That's obviously the key and we don't have any idea about that. If he did sign a new contract, his only leverage to get that money back is to refuse to leave. If he didn't and it was an agreement to be paid later, I don't see how Barca can avoid the payment. His posturing right now suggests the issue is he signed something akin to a new contract and so he is fecked unless he leverages that to get the money back

I still refuse to believe we're anywhere close to signing him.

If they fly off without him tomorrow then my head will turn.

Have absolutely no doubt about Ten Haag. But we still have som disruptive players in our ranks. If he survive two seasons, we might have a chance.
It really looks like the players responds well to Ten Hag and respect him and Pogba is gone, and if we add players who are Ten Hag players im sure he will have the support needed even in bad times my friend! :D

+ at least one attacker then agree. Losing Greenwood and Cavani with no replacement is not good
If Ronaldo also goes then we definitely need a couple replacements in.

So far though, those 4 players and we will be a lot stronger into next season.

Cant wait for this season to start.

I didn't read his earlier post but I can say with some confidence that it wasn't so much a lie as a masturbatory fantasy.
for that you need to subscribe to audible and listen to the audiobook. i can give you a short snippet as we’re such great mates:

“jim slid the pen from his top pocket and seductively bit his lip. “let’s see phil jones turn this one down!” he said as he wrote an extra couple of zeros down on the contract offer. big arnold nodded approvingly. jim placed the pen down, it landing perpendicular to the zeros. “looks like a cock,” jim thought to himself. “looks like a cock” arnold thought to himself.

They are flying out on tour tomorrow apparently? Now let’s see if they also buy a ticket for Frenkie to get on that plane, which I don’t think they will

If you've only got 7 likes out of 1226 posts I'm not sure his likes will be going your way :wenger::lol:
I mainly post in Match threads and try to keep it fun. Don't really like to get into full-on discussions or deep analyses. My main goal is to be a scout one day and ban every possible newbie that looks sus.

It still doesnt look right to me. I have always wanted him but lost all hope when he joined Barca, even more when Xavi became the manager. And now theyre throwing him out like a garbage.

Frenkie, Eriksen, Martinez would solve our midfield issue. Finally we are addressing the correct problem. This window will yield better results than the last I reckon. Team with good attack but no control in midfield = sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit! no more shit midfield.

no,m. really unlikely. he’s demanded that we match his barca salary and gets to fly private. to all games. even city away.

De Jong Eriksen Malacia Martinez would be a really good window for us.
Maybe, in hindsight. But if someone offered me this list in early june, I would be pissed.
It is an average window at best, I think we are still very unbalanced

There's a Ryanair flight from Barcelona to Manchester in a few hours, with Barcelona's financial state, might be worth a cheeky flight tracker?

Disagree. Eriksen is free and Malacia is not intended as a first choice.

We have improved depth and added two players to improve the best XI (Martinez and De Jong). I would add a striker and another midfielder to call it a good window.

I think the plan is to also bring in another attacker.

I can't be mad at the club anymore even if the deal doesn't go through from here. We did everything in our power to do. I'm fine with that. €75m is extremely generous in Barcelona's predicament and given how they feel about the player. If De Jong still doesn't want to join after that then fair enough.

My initial thought when i see any of the spanish jounalists quoted saying Frenkie wants to stay and has no interest in United.

They can't stand to see the success of english football its forever irked them.

It is completely and utterly embarrassing in all fairness…the briefs coming out that he doesn’t want to come here. If this does happen, I am looking forward to the spin. Would rather some honesty…”I didn’t want to leave Barca, my family were happy there…we saw our future there…but once it became clear that was not an option…I knew I wanted to work with Erik again”

Of course he refuses to leave Barca, until he gets what he’s owed

And once that happens, ten Hag will be at the airport to welcome him with open arms

I think this'll be done by the weekend. I'm a bit curious as to why we had many reports of a fee being agreed for 55m just 2 weeks ago and it's suddenly jumped to 72m. A difference of 17. I wonder why ?

De Jong Eriksen Malacia Martinez would be a really good window for us.
All good signings in and of themselves, but anyone who watched us last season could tell we needed massive upgrades in RB and CDM, as well as quality depth ST. Our window even with these signings leaves pretty glaring holes in the team.

That said, to expect it all fixed in one window is unrealistic, but I'd like to think options for RB and CDM would be gettable.
