Kids will just practice heading unsupervised instead with their mates in the park or at home with their Dad's etc who aren't qualified pro's.

Removing heading just creates a bigger risk of kids learning the wrong technique while unsupervised, thus causing more of an issue.

Do kids really enjoy heading that much?.

As a kid, heading was just another way to score and most kids wanted the ball at their feet.

They’re not doing drugs mate, it’s just heading. No one wants to head the ball at that age anyway

Just make them play futsal, it essentially eliminates the problem of heading and promotes the exact traits needed at that stage of the development.

I used to love head butting the ball as hard as possible

Exactly. Why bother stopping it then?

Evidence that heading under 12 is a problem?

If it is, there should be mountains of evidence given kids have been heading footballs for 100+ years.

Will they? Are kids bothered about heading? Do they enjoy it?

It doesn’t matter ultimately as within 20 years heading will be removed from the professional game.

Because there's almost direct link to heading and dementia? It also encourages the kids to get better with the ball at their feet instead of crossing it to the biggest lad on the pitch who's developed before all the others have.

They're not outlawing heading like we live in some sort of real life Footloose scenario, they're just going to stop coaching the kids how to head the ball until they're older. They can still head all they want if that's what they really want to do.

But kids are still going to be doing it unsupervised and will still be doing it from the age of 13 onwards.

I can guarantee the amount of kids ending up with CTE in later life due to heading the ball below the age of 12, is pretty slim.

How can statistics prove that people are getting CTE due to heading the ball under the age of 12 and not because they are heading the ball at 13 and above or because they were heading the ball every day as a full pro aged 18 and over for a 20 year career?

Why's it an issue? You think this will hold us back in winning a world cup?

Nah, they're just doing it for a laugh because they hate kids. First free meals, now this. It will be Rashford's next campaign.

This is good news. Hopefully one day in the not so distant future headers outside the box will be banned.

If they ban heading, it'll drive it underground where it becomes controlled by criminal gangs in the Head Light District.

Got to go with the studies and the evidence. If the evidence is pointing towards heading contributing towards brain or head injuries, or serious issues later on in life, then you can't ignore it. Whether that means banning heading for certain age categories, or even removing it from the game altogether, the safety of players has to come first.

Football will adapt and we'll learn to live without heading, if that eventually turns out to be the case. We've already outlawed hands/arms making contact with the ball, so this will just be a further addition to that. The more I think about it, the more it doesn't really make any sense why you can use your head in the first place.

In Ireland clubs have been banned from doing training drills involving heading for 13 and under for a while now. Never been banned in matches though. That would be a huge change. Not sure there’s any appetite for it.
Does this explain why the National team is shite though? Could be directly related I feel.

Why do you think we signed Lisandro? Murtough knows what's coming.

Timber-Lindelof-Lisandro about to be the best back three in world football.

More likely because we have a very small population and our best athletes play other sports.

Ironically, the one thing our national football team has always been very good is heading the ball. It’s the other stuff we struggle with.

So the future of football means no more corners into the box? Because every player won’t have a clue how to head it.

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
“At that age”? Did you learn to love it? I have always hating heading the ball. Partly because it fecking hurts but mainly because I’m shit at it.
I’m pretty short - a whole inch shorter than Martinez so anytime I head the ball during 5-aside I get a smug sense of satisfaction that I’m clearly some amazing reader of the game! It adds to the enjoyment.

the issue isn't correct technique or poor form, it's brain damage.

heading the ball is bad for your brain and the impact doesn't get reduced with any sort of technique or form.
