We can't do that since he's under contract for another season. He would likely have to buy himself out
If both parties are in mutual agreement then he could leave on a free.

If he is that desperate for CL football then I’m sure he would be happy with this proposal.

That is just...wrong and nonsensical on so many levels  . Like saying "we know you don't wanna be with club during the hard times but i promise you in a year's time we'll be what you want us to be again. Will that make you feel better?"

I actually wouldn't be opposed to some sort of deal with Griezman coming our way as a stop gap (Barca player though so kinda weird). He might be a bit of an idiot but he works his socks off for the team.
Feck no. Can't stand that little weasel. He took the piss out of us a few seasons back so he can get fecked.
Plus, he's as aggravating as Lingard.

Absolute nonsense that we'll be renewing. Even we're not that stupid.

It won’t happen again in our lifetime. Especially not two players at the same time, at that level.
It's certainly unlikely, but you never know. Anyways any talk of them being forgotten in a couple of years is simply absurd.

Riiight. So we're left a forward short for the season, with no guarantee that he comes back wanting to play, in physical condition to offer us anything, or of any value to sell?

Would rather just release him and move on.

Hope we get rid of him fast. He's not going to work in the new setup with ten Hag, and he's been whoring himself out to the entire of Europe instead of being respectful and joining his teammates on tour. I was really hyped up about him joining last season, and he was probably our best player last season but we have to move on. It's getting embarrassing now. Him wanting to join bloody Atletico of all teams, after becoming a legend in Real, tells you everything you need to know about his loyalties as well.

Let him sit and rot in Lisbon, don't sell him and then when he comes crawling back just before the start of the season, let him train on his own. feck him, let him miss a season at his age.. see who will want to give him cl football then.

Griezmann's still a Barcelona player isn't he?

Can't Atletico just terminate his loan?

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
Agreed. Just have absolutely no idea why we would propose it. Unless we think it’s the only way to get him out this summer and hope wherever he ends up takes him permanently next summer?
My suspicions too. I've felt all along that we want him gone as much as he wants to go. Think he's divided the dressing room and we want to restore harmony. He'll not play for us again.

Just sell him already. It’s getting embarrassing for the club

You never know. Im sure no one expected 3 players to smash Sampras' record so soon, or anyone to equal Schumachers records. Setting a high bar inspires and motivates others to raise it

He'll cause enormous problems for Ten Hag and the team if we try and integrate him back into the starting eleven. It's absolutely crucial that we replace him this summer.

We’ve clearly allowed him to seek a new club with our blessing. The real question is who have we lined up to replace him as I’m sure that player must know.

Martial come back OK didn’t he? The guy who forced a move last winter when the club was in massive trouble (Greenwood situation, Cavani Injured, Rashford out of form etc) with the new manager asking him to stay he still fecked off to Spain.

I just feel like there a lot of variables in football. It’s just different in that you really need to be special to be unaffected by teammate and manager changes, the intensity of the football calendar, the contact and physical aspect of the sport.

Individual sports depend more on you and your performances. That is not to take anything away from the supreme athletes in those sports, and I get your point about tennis.

In football, however, to be as special as Messi and Ronaldo have been, you need to be really special. There are so many parameters outside of your control, to maintain consistency, you have to rise above all of it.

We have seen so many amazing players in the past 30 years, but no one has come close to doing what these two did to the game.

To be fair Ronaldo going to Atletico would be such a kick in the balls to his Real legacy, as well as his MUFC legacy. He can alienate two fanbases in one go while getting knocked out in the CL quarter finals.

Genius move on the twilight of your GOAT career.

I dont especially care how Ronaldo feels about the team currently. I do care about respecting the contract you signed, and moreover not leaving the moment things get hard.

Instead he chills out in his fancy fortress at home and gets to decide what his employer does. Selfish.

Martial suits Ten Hag's style of play better than Ronaldo. I also think Martial's link up play helps get the best out of the players around him, especially Bruno. As we saw last season, the team was Ronaldo; that's not good when you are relying on a 37 year old every week in the most physically demanding league in the world.

Anything from Duncan Castles and The Times, I assume is coming from Mendes and Ronaldo's camp, not the club.

We'd have had Whitwell and Ornstein reporting the same as well if it was truly from the club.

Trying to figure what PR angle this move gives CR7 honestly by publicly mentioning this?
Come and get me plea for UCL clubs who might be willing to accept Ronaldo on a short term (one-season loan) basis.

Evidently, no UCL club has any interest in taking Ronaldo long term.

I’ve seen enough of Martial for the past 7 years he’s nowhere near good enough. He’s got 5 league goals in the past 2 seasons, if we’re relying on Martial this coming season then we’re in trouble.

I understand what you’re saying Martial is a dynamic player……when he wants to be. That’s his problem he must be one of the most hot/cold players I’ve ever seen.

What the feck did I just read in the BBC gossip column? United will allow him to go out on loan this season as long as we can trigger the option for his third season? When he's 39.

This has nothing to do with football, if true.

Get him the feck out of the club.

Yeah but don't forget he already played well in the big games this pre season we will be fine don't worry about it.
