Well it's a WC year, I don't see anyone risking their place in the WC to give a club that doesn't want them the middle finger.

FDJ simply can't afford to sit out or play CB with the WC on the horizon.
yes I understand that. But all of this is emotional stuff and if drags it out then barca will be forced to do come closer to the big figure payout to get him out. This is why he has the power - barca can’t get out of paying him this money without his agreement

Surely a Striker saga?

Ronaldo returns from his loan spell at Atlectico, but the club have made him sign an extra 1 year extension prior to agreeing the loan, in order to sell him on next summer to a Saudi club & finance another forward. EtH wants to ship him out but Ronnie doesn’t want to leave as we’ve qualified for the CL and look competitive again. All the while our priority striker wont sign whilst the spectre of Ronnie staying and starting looms.

Stalemate summer.

That or Bellingham.
Yeah mind changed. Kane. Not sure about Bellingham. This season will be interesting to see his development

Bale was 30, had won the lot, cared more about golf than football and was a guaranteed starter for Wales regardless of playing time.
This is FDJ’s peak we’re talking about, not remotely similar.
But with Bale he has already done enough in his career with 4 CL trophies as one of key player in the team, so sitting until the end of his very well paid contract would not be bad idea, especially when he could spend more of his time on another new found interest in golf. With FDJ he has achieved nothing so far, I doubt he would want to risk his career with nothing.
I don't think he will either, but he could. For a season at least.

€17m is relative peanuts for a football club like Barcelona. Even with all their debt their spending isn't slowing down - it shouldn't be coming out of the player's pocket when that's the money they agreed to pay him.

Why do you get the impression that he's sulking?
His club officially announced that he needs to go because they need money, and still they bought 4 players. He still hasn't got his owed money and probably won't. He doesn't want to go anywhere because that also means no owed money in his pocket. And he loves Barcelona, so what's there not to sulk?

What is like to see is leave our offer on the table and keep contact channels open with frenkies team.
Then get to work on other areas including sales and loans.
It is difficult as long as we have to keep the little 70 million in our backpocket in case something happens finally. What we are currently doing is showing that we are ready to die proudly as long as we finally get the player. You want to talk about wrong messages sent, I think that is a pretty bad one in itself.

in regards to LB I’m delighted we got Malacia. Telles is dung and Shaw has fitness issues along with done fundamentals defensive deficiencies which hopefully can be ironed out. If not, we have someone better than telles ready to take that spot
You may delighted, I have nothing against the player, it is a cheap punt, nothing wrong with it as long as other, more pressing business isn't blocked. It still isn't a clear sign of a well-thought recruitment plan. We want to talk about fullbacks, probably should have started on the other side. The other transfers are a free agent with a heart issue and our 2nd-choice CB. Is this really something we should be so happy about?

Nah, Bellingham will be next years Tchoumeni or whatever he was called. Folk will make out we’re going to get him for about 60 million early doors then he’ll go to Madrid for 130.

I have a feeling next summers will be significantly funnier meltdown wise than De Jong where we’ve done everything ‘right’ and we’re just waiting on Barcelona and the players nonsense. Like an actual saga rather than the same diametrically opposed stories being posted every day.

The player was about to be signed elsewhere and the coach clearly thought it’s too good a chance to miss out on now.

he moral scumbag part of it is trying to now get another wage cut to lock in future losses for FDJ, seek MUFC terms or sit on the bench as a reserve CB.
sit on the bench as a reserve CB + receive huge salary weekly without reduction

De Jong can feck with Barca Bogarde style too, which is disastrous for Barca

But this is WC year isn't it. What if Barca bench him, that could have negative impact on his chance/form in WC.

Oh we changed the subject now finally to the no-name LB,yes? Alright then. It would have been interesting to hear about the other points I made.

i don't see anything wrong with this. Manager can play him at any position if needed. It's up to the player to prove otherwise.
It becomes an issue though when your club openly agrees to sell you, moves you from your favourite position, puts you on the bench and then publicly tells you you’re seen as a centre half despite them buying two new centre halves this summer.

It obvious what’s going on here

I'd be surprised, van Gaal has already spoken of how much he likes him and came out with the "that's why he's worth €112m" quote which boiled so much piss in here. He'll definitely make the squad.

Does anyone know when the La Liga registration deadline is?

The cynic in me thinks FDJ may wait till the registration deadline has passed and then make the move to Utd meaning Barca can’t register their new players

imagine hosting MUFC board members at your club office, your director confirms the agreement with MUFC because of "fair play" requirements, and then saying this. How much coke do you reckon Laporta does in a day?
Not enough ?

And you just assume that I'm weirdo cause I described normal pattern of human behavior in circumstances like this?

I didn’t bother because I think it’s just a rant about nonsense that you want to go on
Wow alright then. So when your argument is attacked, it is considered as a rant? Asking for a friend, don't want to risk another funny thread name change

I am waiting for Xavi to say: I really like Frenkie as a substitute goalkeeper - I would like to keep him in this position

Such behaviour might be pretty normal in the general populace, but top level sportspeople tend not to behave in the same ways as the general populace.

There are exceptions of course, but most have far more pride (and ego) and want to stick it up whoever has slighted them rather than take a year long holiday.

I just want to see what happens if for example De Jong publically says the following:

" I love FC Barcelona, it's the club of my dreams, I have no intentions of leaving, I have a long term contract here and I am happy to stay, I am willing to play in any position the manager wants me to play, be it CM or CB or even LB, I only want to play for FC Barcelona and no one else"

What would Barca do in this case?

Why don’t you do yourself a favor out and ate out of this thread, concentrate on live tweets feed instead of reading all the guff here
All your posts are coming across as moaning, whining and needy. I would assume that you’re not like that in real life but it’s tiring reading the same old narratives spun

They’d probably pay him 17m and drop him off at the airport.

They keep banging on about wanting clarity from him yet his been back for like 2 weeks now. Would have thought they would have got that solved right away. They really are a comedy club
Makes you wonder what the actual feck is De Jong's agent doing, a lot of people hated late Mino Raiola for obvious reasons and rightly so, I can't imagine any club would feck with his client the way Barca are currently Messing with De Jong at the minute.

What has FDJ's form been like at Barca?

If he's not playing well for the club he loves, then what chance have we got when he cannot even mention our name in public... apparently because to do so might lose him some money?
The omens are not good...at all, whether he comes or doesn't come, we are (potentially either way) going to get 'shafted'!

I am sorry that my comments aren't pleasant for you. What I don't understand though, why am I spinning narratives and you are not? We are arguing about the same (limited) set of information available. I just take a different stance based on that than you do. I'd say some of you may come off your high horses. Shouldn't that place have learned the lesson how to deal with diverging opinions during the Ole wars?

Rhetorical question, I'll leave your Barca-bashing party to it from now on.

What's next?

Frenkie? I don't send messages. I have spoken with him. I value him very much. For me he's a fundamental footballer, but then there is the economic situation and fair play. He can give us a lot as a cheerleader/binman/dishwasher. I like him in that position

He’s playing on the bench mate and then at centre half.

Keep up!

I don't think FDJ meant at cb when he said he wants to play deeper. Only a matter of time till he's a camera man behind the goal.
