At this point I am now more interested in whether we have a back up or if ETH is mad enough to go into the season with McFred. This one is dead in the water.
I think Erik would look like a dickhead, and it’d leave some people at the club scratching their heads. But in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn’t actually be any different to Chelsea missing out on Raphinha. Shit happens all the time.I mean if he stays, it's not a huge deal. We went for a player, it didn't pan out. Most deals don't. Ten Hag will be judged on his coaching at the end of the day and I'd say it's virtually guaranteed to be a massive improvement anyway.
Not silly ….it‘s bloody embarrassingIt's all a bit silly, this saga, isn't it?
This one is evaporated in the water more like but people refuse to move on. There is literally not a single reliable outlet being optimistic. At this point I am now more interested in whether we have a back up or if ETH is mad enough to go into the season with McFred. This one is dead in the water.
All the signs still point to him refusing a pay cut. It's the shitty sources that are saying he's open to it.Should Utd have really got involved if we thought there was any possibility he would be willing to take a salary cut
I think he’s decided, hence we’re so far into this.Just hurry up and decide for feck sake.
If this is true, Arnold and Murtourgh should resign tomorrow for wasting the window. Ask David Gill to fill in interim for one season and see if we can get Antony and SMS but even then I’m not sure about the Balkan at 27 in PL complete waste of a window. If this is true and he gives up almost €57m (€17m + €10m each year for the next 4) then he is dumber than a sack of potatoes.
You gave me the idea when you quoted me with a quoted name that somehow changed to Fanta Stick'sAn entirely unfounded allegation! Dunno how you did that but tres bien!
Not silly ….it‘s bloody embarrassing
Took me longer that it should have. The boys are still driving down the road but the bridge has been removed.
Would agree with most of what you said, however my only concern is his seeming tunnel vision on this transferI mean if he stays, it's not a huge deal. We went for a player, it didn't pan out. Most deals don't. Ten Hag will be judged on his coaching at the end of the day and I'd say it's virtually guaranteed to be a massive improvement anyway.
Ultimately it's Ten Hags decision though, if he sees it as Frenkie or bust, then it's Frenkie or bust.I think Erik would look like a dickhead, and it’d leave some people at the club scratching their heads. But in the grand scheme of things, it wouldn’t actually be any different to Chelsea missing out on Raphinha. Shit happens all the time.
We signed Eriksen, Malacia and Martinez during this transferWould agree with most of what you said, however my only concern is his seeming tunnel vision on this transfer
Fortunately that isn't a problem for me.Took me longer that it should have.
I mean, the funny thing is that if he does reduce his salary he is making himself far more droppable. You don't bench a player earning crazy money for various reasons. You can bench a guy that is just on good wages though.Hope he reduces his salary then still gets stuck on the bench
Fortunately that isn't a problem for me.
Definitely not deliberate. Forum weirdness. You gave me the idea when you quoted me with a quoted name that somehow changed to Fanta Stick's
Yeah unbelievably risky strategy, we simply have to sign a deep lying playmaker none of this we will find someone BS I heard from ErikI'm just miffed by this whole thing right now. Most of the "information" about it I take with a grain of salt (including the stuff from the UK press), but the fact is Utd need more and better midfielders. If they don't get clarity on this soon, they're then probably bringing in a player (if they can actually get a deal done in time) that hasn't played under ETH or been a part of pre-season, so is going to have a big adjustment period in-season.
All the eggs being in this basket isn't a great approach.

The translation as of Google Translate:El jugador no vol marxar i club ja li ha dit que, si es vol quedar, s'ha de rebaixar la fitxa. L'holandès i els seus representants ho estan meditant.
Honestly, that doesn't seem like anything particularly revelatory. This could easily be de Jong's camp being given the salary reduction request and then not coming back with an immediate answer, which is reasonable especially when considering a future away from one's dream club, in my opinion. There's much ado about nothing here, as usual; this is the same old information that the other journalists have received. ManagingBarca are just sensationalizing things as usual. The player does not want to leave and the club has already told him that, if he wants to stay, he must lower his fee. The Dutchman and his representatives are considering it.
He can stay at Barcelona with his full salary by simply doing nothing. He has a contract, they owe him the money.Tweet

It's not only that, it's McFred but with no Pogba or Matic either. Madness. At this point I am now more interested in whether we have a back up or if ETH is mad enough to go into the season with McFred. This one is dead in the water.
Could Frankie be the one who pays for the next lever? What a hero.Looking forward to tomorrow, where it will be reported that Barca are telling Frenkie he must take a 60% pay cut to stay. By the end of the week, Barca accounts will have some of you believing Frenkie is willing to forego his salary completely and actually pay the club to stay and play at Barca because he loves them so much.
Is this the first time a player has used us to get a worse contract from his current club?
Rather a club used us to get the player to sign a lower contractIs this the first time a player has used us to get a worse contract from his current club?
Pathetic if true. Not the attitude befitting of a winner.I guess that's almost the end of things

Think of Laporta.Fortunately that isn't a problem for me.
Less tunnel vision and more just sees him as a world class player so will try until he can no longer try? If it falls through then so be it, but I see the logic in going all out for Frenkie.Would agree with most of what you said, however my only concern is his seeming tunnel vision on this transfer
Rumor is that Barca are asking Frenkie to put a second mortgage on his house so they can pay Lewy's wages.Could Frankie be the one who pays for the next lever? What a hero.
I really don't understand the sentiment from the fans and media on this. We had every right to go for him, just like other teams do. Like other teams, it doesn't always work. Yet we seem to be the only team targeted for not getting in a player. It's used as a stick to beat us with for some reason. Chelsea and Arsenal have been hijacked to a few transfers in this very same window.I mean if he stays, it's not a huge deal. We went for a player, it didn't pan out. Most deals don't. Done. Next?Think of Laporta.
I meant in that particular positionWe signed Eriksen, Malacia and Martinez during this transfer

I wouldn't be surprised if UtdPlug just saw their Tweet and basically plagiarized it. As for it's source, here it is: https://www.ccma.cat/esport3/el-mercat-del-barca-al-detall/noticia/3177614/

Yeah but that doesn’t follow the narrative. Chelsea missing out on Raphinha is just business, us missing out is “embarrassing”.#factI really don't understand the sentiment from the fans and media on this. City failed to sign Kane last summer and spent the whole time looking to sign him. Real Madrid couldn't land Mbappe. Haaland chose City over far more reputable clubs. Its the transfer window, this happens to literally everyone. Yet for us, its tried to be used as a symbol of decline.
In this particular transfer, Barca showed themselves to be completely dishonest and shady. hat's not on us.
