Barcelona need him sold before La Liga starts August 13 and are now trying to push Frenkie out by putting pressure on him to act before United's fanbase turns on him.

They also briefed that they think about selling Ter Stegen because Frenkie won't leave to alienate him from the Barca fanbase. Disgusting club.

Would be relatively good if we found this out definitely now.. there'd be a month to buy an alternative.

But instead this will drag out until last day of the window :boring:

Deepthroating information to Howard Nurse.
That's true, one of their parallel stories has been him flat out rejecting Manchester the whole time, though. Simultaneously only wanting to join United. And Chelsea.

Maybe they're ahead of the curve and reporting on Frenke de Jong in the Multiverse of Madness?
Imagine a multiverse where sport are reliable. I shudder at the thought.

Relovo are apparently saying the Spanish players Union are already looking at FDJs case. Which to me indicates it’s about money and Barcelona refusing to pay his deferred wages should he leave…I don’t think Xavi playing him CB is that much of an issue.

But he could do nothing and get paid 425k a week. So if he decides to move to United he would be taking a pay cut of over 100k a week.
But that would mean 17m owed wages wont be paid. Increase in wage is to repay the owed wages. If he gets the owed wage paid in full then 300k per week is an upgrade on what he will earn at Barcelona

I'd take him. He can catch crosses, right?

Please stop saying monies, it’s far more embarrassing than anything a sports team can do. You are not a cartoon meerkat (I assume).

Sorting out the money is the reason he’s staying, to get it sorted. If he leaves with nothing on paper then he won’t get the money he feels he’s owed, hence he’s sticking around until there’s legal assurances of at least an acceptable amount being paid.
I'm saying "monies" because it is going up evertime I read a thread here or in other media outlets. Can you say for definite what he is owed or only what you read also.
It could also be that he has just got engaged, bought a new mansion, his girlfriend doesn't want to come to Manchester, other issues.

As Ten Hag has already made clear, we won't be buying a De Jong surrogate - the alternative to dragging this out until deadline day, is Ten Hag trying to turn McTominay into Paul Scholes.

At this point I'm not even sure United are still after de Jong.
Seems more likely Barca are pushing de Jong to leave and he doesn't want to come here, maybe ETH let it go already. I just hope we're using this situation to find an alternative for midfield in the meantime.

Not really? He said if we can't get the right player we will train one into the role, he didn't say it's Frenkie or nobody. There might be an alternative right player.

If that was the case it would have been briefed.

Yes, and the reason his girlfriend doesn't want to move to Manchester. They have just got engaged and bought a mansion in Barcelona.
Are you just going to keep making things up until you get something right?

This might’ve been posted yesterday actually, but it’s a nice and refreshing break from SPORT

We should withdraw the FDJ bid and go for Raphinha. Leeds wouldn’t sell to us - Barcelona buy him thinking we sign FDJ - FDJ refuses to leave so they can’t register him. 4D chess.
I'm so confused

Ronaldo didn't join you for CL, he joined you for money.
Money that he's now not getting due to you missing out on CL, hence the drama.
Well he won't even be getting the reduced amount anywhere else, unless he decides to take the oil money!

Not saying you're wrong. But why do they need him sold by then?

I hope this is resolved soon, but it feels like it'll go to the deadline before we know either way

You know what I can't work out? Why there is a divide in here. I think we're all in collective agreement that he'd improve us. So WHY are there people who seemingly don't want the transfer to happen? It doesn't make sense. Is it so you can say "I told you so" if he doesn't come?

I find it utterly bizarre.

Champions League.
Sure, he'll decide the next 4-5 years of his career based on which team can offer him CL football in his first season...other than Liverpool and City there's no guarantee you'll be playing in the CL every season. That's why no CL for a club like United is a non-factor, we've been able to sign big names without CL every summer.

They don't really, but they also need to be able to register Lewan, Kessi Raphina etc if they want them to play the first La Liga game

Do you not think it's embarrassing going on so long. If he really wants to come here, you would think a deal would be done by now. Flogging a dead horse, imo.
If there's 1 transfer saga where United can't be blamed it's this one IMO. Barca are the ones embarrassing themselves...this forum is so fecking tiring to read, everyone just believes the worst sources so that their doom & gloom mentality won't have to go away

We are not the club we once were. Ther is more clubs than City and Liverpool that can offer Champions League football every year. Real, Barca, Bayern, PSG, and many others.
