Yes, let’s hope ‘things are happening!’Let's hope this accelerates the coming days
It has to.. Barca don’t have many cards left to play.. times running outLet's hope this accelerates the coming days
Not very likely as apparently we are down to stems & seeds.Perhaps he could be Leicesters first signing of the summer?!
Yeah, that’s not it dawg.De Jong wants to stay at Barcelona. And the idea of going to United doesn't appeal to him at all.
Just shows how much faith a lot of people have in these reports from Spain.Yeah, that’s not it dawg.
Has your owner not allowed any spending, or is this a FFP issue? Not very likely as apparently we are down to stems & seeds.
If he doesn't want to go to Manchester, he sure ain't gonna like Leicester.
pretty sure Barca are running out of options now, and thats eventually whats going to have to happenI wish they’d just fecking pay him the money and have some balls. Say here’s the money now get out.
The poster was a Barca fan, so obviously just lapping it all up.Just shows how much faith a lot of people have in these reports from Spain.
Transfers like this require you to keep an open mind and look at things from all angles
FdJ can afford not to blink at all.pretty sure Barca are running out of options now, and thats eventually whats going to have to happen
I don't listen to newspaper news. Gerard Romero and little else.If you believe the reports in Spain thats the case... but any credible reporter knows that Frenkie hasn't said anything in weeks now. So we really have no idea whats going on or what his stance on the transfer is
The 17m is money that he should’ve had already… he’s due something like 88m over the course of his contract. They’re wanting to halve thatIf they pay him the money then won't he just sign on reduced terms like everybody else safe in the knowledge he got what he was owed?
What exactly are the figures? If they pay him £17m he'll go, but if he stays, the big contract kicks in? So, it's £17m against...?I wish they’d just fecking pay him the money and have some balls. Say here’s the money now get out.
Would you want to stay at the club after they treated you like that?If they pay him the money then won't he just sign on reduced terms like everybody else safe in the knowledge he got what he was owed?
Will be interesting who is & isn't playing on match day 1 if FdJ hasn't left yet. Only vs Rayo so they could afford to not have Lewa et al playing yet, but would be delicious if they lost points because they weren't able to play them.So La Liga starts on the 13th? When do they need to register the players?
but do they have levers left to pull ?It has to.. Barca don’t have many cards left to play.. times running out
I agree with you, the pay cut isn't a realistic option for him, and thats pretty plain to see. If it was, you rightly pointed out, he'd have done it by now and this would have been put to bed. There is a noticeable shift in the Spanish media from “FDJ doesn’t want to leave” to “FDJ doesn’t want to leave but he will have to if he doesn’t take a pay cut”
If he was taking a pay cut, it’d be done months ago. And with Barca now offering him some of the deferred wages, the ‘operation’ to move him on is clearly in full swing.
I’m probably the most confident I’ve been since the initial impasse over the wages was revealed.
He’ll not play our first PL game, obviously, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this was all looking a lot more promising from all sides in a weeks time.
Do you not think barca have been holding out in the hope he might reduce his contract?I don't listen to newspaper news. Gerard Romero and little else.
I just don't think that such an important transfer for both teams and has been paralyzed for 2 months for 17M.
If that were the problem it would have been negotiated a long time ago. Paying both the amount halfway or something similar.
BarcaStudios and BLM (this in principle will not be sold)but do they have levers left to pull ?
I completely agree. But what do we know. Just a couple of muppets aimlessly refreshing the same thread all summerI agree with you, the pay cut isn't a realistic option for him, and thats pretty plain to see. If it was, you rightly pointed out, he'd have done it by now and this would have been put to bed.
The fact that he's not, and the fact that United are still hanging around, even though the reports coming out of Spain have been "Frenkie wants to stay and has no intention of going to United" tell me that things aren't as they seem. ten Hag obviously knows a lot more than anyone in the media does, and he's obviously convinced that de Jong wants to come. He'd only know that if the player himself told him, or his agent has told him on de Jongs behalf, and with as much as FdJ and EtH apparently talk, i know where i think he got his assurances from. This transfer will be done, and i'm guessing as the seasons start ticks closer, Barca will be getting twitchy
Does the selling of your club to fund short term projects not terrify you?BarcaStudios and BLM (this in principle will not be sold)
I think Barca have been holding out and making de Jongs life a bit of a misery with his position changing, then inferring he's going to be a backup etc in the hopes that he just gets fed up and asks to leave. If he does that, he's going to lose everything he's owed and Barca are likely hoping for that outcomeDo you not think barca have been holding out in the hope he might reduce his contract?
Why would de Jong accept half of the money he's owed? He did the club a massive favour and it's being thrown in his face. It's insulting.
Haha it's worth it though. Just wait until we see that magical tweet by United saying he's signed. It'll be worth it!!I completely agree. But what do we know. Just a couple of muppets aimlessly refreshing the same thread all summer
How can you be so cock sure on thisI said it all along.
This one is in the bag.
No, Barcelona want to sell him and United want to buy him. If the operation was not done, it is because the player does not want to leave.Do you not think barca have been holding out in the hope he might reduce his contract?
Why would de Jong accept half of the money he's owed? He did the club a massive favour and it's being thrown in his face. It's insulting.
Convinced that's what happensIt's a Mexican stand-off. I think this will go to deadline day.
Probably not, in order to pay him that money they need a significant transfer fee. He is their most valuable asset that can be sold at the moment. The likelihood of them finding anyone else they can ship off at a similar fee is very low. That has a knock on effect on their transfer incomings and registrations. Then there's the massive difference in pay between us and Barca. He'll get what.. £350k-400k here? If he cuts his wage in half with Barca that will be considerably less. Then there's the issue with how Barca have been treating him.If they pay him the money then won't he just sign on reduced terms like everybody else safe in the knowledge he got what he was owed?
Yeah, that's the case for the last few weeks. Before that, I genuinely think they thought he would take another pay cut, like Dembele has done. But now they're obviously trying to force him out of the door in a way that saves them money. I'm not entirely sure on the financial implications if he hands in a transfer request, but I'm sure he loses a chunk of his signing on fee or loyalty bonuses. Barca are just trying to save themselves money here.I think Barca have been holding out and making de Jongs life a bit of a misery with his position changing, then inferring he's going to be a backup etc in the hopes that he just gets fed up and asks to leave. If he does that, he's going to lose everything he's owed and Barca are likely hoping for that outcome
Then why haven't Barca paid him the £17m they owe him?No, Barcelona want to sell him and United want to buy him. If the operation was not done, it is because the player does not want to leave.
If it were only for the €17M, long ago it would have been resolved.
Really doesn't matter if he starts or if he's a sub. He'll be taken off at HT.Starts for Barcelona
He’s very obviously in Xavis plans even ifthe board disagree
