Jesus mate, the quality for the first hour was good, playing the ball on the floor, passing, good goals.

They tired and the game got scrappy but not sure what you're watching.
This was the pinnacle, yeah there was some nice touches here and there but the defending just doesn’t seem real, it turns so scrappy.

Anyway, looks like opinions are not tolerated in here

I really do wonder sometimes what people get out of constantly whinging about everything. Are they just trying to bring everyone else down to the level of misery they exist in or what?

Bittersweet moment watching the trophy lift. Proud of the ladies' but it makes me even more mad at the men's team.

Opinions are tolerated but expect them to be challenged.

Nah it's just seems deliberately contrarian post just as the England women are lifting the trophy

The crowd are absolutely shit. Sounds like a crowd at a five aside tournament

I get what Zlatan is referring to.

Amazing achievement for the ladies team though. Fought like hell all game.

Well, that's one way of diminishing a huge sporting triumph.
I’m happy for them and it’ll do great for young girls watching and future of the sport.

Strange that one can’t mention the quality of it though. I’ll look forward to it improving in the future

Yeah the crowd are shit. Much prefer the lot who rocked up to the men’s final last year. What a fine bunch they were

I’m English and agree with him. I’m glad we won but it’s basically Soccer Aid.

@Zlatan 7 , you are spot on!
Thanks, there’s no bitterness and as I said, I’m happy it’ll do good for the future but right now the quality and animosity of a final match is just missing

Do we think this will lead to a significant uptick in attendance at the club level and will it be sustainable?

Ultimately I think it will be up to women to get out there to the stadiums.

Weird as feck. 80% of the posts are people being bitter... like seriously what is wrong with you guys.

Just seems a bit ignorant. If you actually look at the quality of men's international tournament finals, you will see the majority of games are scrappy but are interesting because of the tension

That is the net, or modern pop culture really. Whinging about whinging about whinging, or look on Youtube negative breakdowns drive views and engagement in a way that positivity doesn't.

I would imagine on here that the average match thread after a win has fewer posts than after a loss.

I understand what @Zlatan 7 is saying but I guess it’s just about not directly comparing it to the men’s game because it’s very different.

Essentially two different games in many ways and for a number of reasons.

Just try and take it for what it is and enjoy it.

I think club level is much harder to grow than international. You have to have people really growing up supporting clubs, but people tend to support their nation in any sport and that makes it easier for the international side to grow.

Feels like rugby, where the international game is far bigger than the club level.
