You might be under-analysing. If Ronaldo didn’t leave the stadium after being subbed off, I suspect we wouldn’t be having this debate. I’ve seen red-carded players leave, but never a subbed off player. It’s highly irregular and smells off to anyone that cares to take their head out of the sand.
