Please, Please, let it be last day of this saga and we can move on. Manchester United, and we don't have a CF or Defensive Midfielder for our first game of the new season. How have we let ourselves go to this.
We haven’t tried to buy a DM in fairness, the manager doesn’t want to play with one.
We have Rashford, Martial and Ronaldo who have all played CF a lot, only one is injured.

Meanwhile Chelsea have who? It’s looking as though Sterling will start up top for them. How has it come to this for them?

Neither the player nor his agent have said any such thing in public.
I think you are guilty of taking Twitter/tabloids as gospel when most of the noise around this transfer is merely opinion and conjecture.
Well the player has publicly said the same twice during international break and during press conferences, I am not arsed to find out the link, feel free to share anything contradictory to the same.

If he signs for us, I will hold my hand up and say, it was a good ploy and eventually it worked, but not at the expense of losing or drawing first few matches and ending up 6 to 8 points behind our competitors from the start. Or Godforbid him moving to Chelsea or Staying at Barca and we panic buying on the last 3 days of the window on poor players because top teams are reluctant to sell their first team players at the end of window after a poor start.

None of them are CFs and Martial and Rashford have been tried there and we all agreed that neither could do a good job. We can't go on making excuses, this was supposed to be the season for a rebuild and we haven't even mentioned the 2 most important areas CF and DM.

The window has been underwhelming so far, but I’m getting really fed up with people using “backup left back” as a derogatory term.

Our first choice left back is an excellent player on his day, but it’s an undeniable fact that he’s unreliable availability-wise, having started barely over half of last season’s games. So his backup is likely to be playing around the same number of games as him, and we can’t be doing with such a drop off in quality as we’ve had with Telles.

Well said. Malacia is great, and he will displace Shaw as a starter by the end of the season.

I agree, we did not fill the 2 most important areas DM and CF. Rebuild my Arse.

Stop hoping for a DM, the manager does want to play like that. We will reinforce midfield in other ways, as we have with Eriksen for example.
We have shown interest in Nunez, Brobbey, Antony and Sesko. I believe we will sign a forward.

Sure coach. Eriksen has played there plenty, but if you say so la’.

https://syndication.bleacherreport....ttenham-midfielder-christian-eriksen.amp.html

You don’t need pace to play inside left, you have the starting position and drift in field leaving the left flank to your left back, just as he did there at Spurs.
Well for the sake of deployment, we can also put VDB there as well, recently in Inter and Brentford he was either playing as CAM or Deeper in the midfield.

He might have been glum when off camera. It is understood (third hand) he was heard whimpering. Joking aside, I would be happy if I was him. There is no “bad” outcome for him.
The bad outcome is being forced to move to United

But he will be ok as its not going to happen.

GB has already said, moaners in this thread will be banned if the transfer bid comes through. Forget about doing the right thing by holding your hands up.

After Frenkie puts on the United shirt, there will be a culling and blood here at the Caf.

Martial had his chances. Can you really rely on him for a season. he's already injured. He is never a CF and was not bought as one.
Eh yes he was bought as one, and his best season for us has come as a CF

Those who said it was Embarrasing will be fearing for their Caf lives i imagine...

In all seriousness, even if it doesn't happen, how the hell is it embarrasing for the club? They would have had all required assurances to continue on with the deal and were likely told that if he was to move, United would be his first choice. If when push comes to shove he backs down on that and decides something different then thats not the clubs fault. Thing can change. I don't think that'll happen here, i think we'll end up getting our man

Just had a look at his fiancée's insta, the latest posts are all sunbathing and surfing and beaches. I think she's the one who'll be particularly loathe to leave, but not because of the football!

Absolutely. It just really depends on how many stings she pulls in the relationship. Regardless of where she moves, Manchester or London, you aint going to be at the seaside anymore haha.

Don't worry though Mikky, they're building a HUGE new waterpark in Trafford Park near the Trafford Centre and i believe they were discussing an artificial beach too! Sooooo Manchester 1, London 0 :keano:

We’ve agreed a deal with Barcelona. The player won’t talk to us formally because he is playing hardball to get his money owed by Barca. The most competent club in the world could agree with Barca and still would not talk to Frenkie because that’s his stance until he has agreed with Barca who are reluctant to pay him. Nobody is stringing us along, nobody is using us. We are being patient for one top target because Barca need him gone and will fold eventually. That doesn’t seem soft to me. We’ve made our position clear and are sticking to it.
In the process we are damaging our own chances for the season to be part of this circus situation where we could of picked up other players. Which ever way you slice it we look amateur.

Compared to a team that just lost it's owner and all of it's board, well aren't we lucky.

She’s not working, she’s got to do something I guess. Manchester’s got a Primark and Piccadilly Gardens so there’s always the chance she would prefer that.

How do we look amateur? We've done our part, and we're obviously being told the right things by the player and his agent.
Ten Hag would have also asked de Jong personally if he'd like to come to United and would have been given very encouraging news too, so what more can we do?

She’s absolutely working - she’s a hockey player and she runs an online fashion label. Maybe if we all log on and buy a hoodie we can entice her to come to Manchester. Infact we only need to buy 340,000 hoodies at £50 each to pay Frenkies 17m :D

We look amateur because we need to be prepared for the season and have players imbedded so we can have a good start without drama and focus on football. Right now we are involved in this back and forth rather than being prepared for the season starting on Sunday. That is how we look amateur. We needed to secure the signings before the start instead we are scrambling which again delays our own interests.

God knows. Better to try and get players that fit than to go around targeting a wide range of different players based on their brand or star appeal -- like he did in the past.

I'll never understand how people enjoy sunbathing. You are burning up in unpleasant heat for... potential skin cancer? I don't get it.

You realise why there has been a delay right?
