Ten Hag is just a shiny new toy. He is to blame for poor transfers just as much as you blame everyone else.

Im a doctor btw, my IQ destroys yours
That’s not the best gauge for IQ level btw. I know some professionals in similar positions who are thick as sh1t.

I genuinely don't mind what the club has done in regards to FDJ. I'm not sure how we could have played it differently.

What I do mind is how this has seemingly impacted investment in other key areas, and I don't buy for a moment that there aren't alternative midfield options who could have been added to the squad, with or without FDJ.

Especially when the status quo is McFred.

Yeah well a manager that targets 1 player and then gets protected for that by some random guy who targets my IQ has a lower IQ than me.

There will be a United brief on Sunday night or Monday

United will speak to the attending journalists in private after the Brighton game
Before which Frenkie will wander onto the hallowed turf of OT holding a brand spanking new 21 shirt, and a plane shall fly overhead with a banner that reads ‘never in doubt!’

It's going to fellow muppets, keep the faith!

All you whiners will eat humblepie when we manage to sign Frenkie without paying his deferred wages.

In this window perhaps but you will have to cut back your spending massively from here on in. Boehly is gambling somewhat.

You simply don’t have the revenue to sustain this level of spending currently.
We don't have yet. But will increase our commercial revenue. That's the plan. And stadium plans also ongoing. Our central defence spending was forced upon us in this window because of our situation last season.

So yearly basis we can spend some 70 mn but this window will always be exception.

Many would be surprised by boehly consortium s spending spree but we already said all along if they want to they will spend. That's what their M.O. of course.

Are people afraid of the latest reports going on? We will get him, but it was always going to be a tiresome saga.

Just gonna do my small part to break Sancho's thread record.

Everyone is saying he'll go to Chelsea but it's not done yet and I'll keep the small hope that he comes here until it's done. If this is done by next week, at least we'll have some time to get backups in. Eriksen's signing has allowed me to be a little calm in this matter, I'd be losing it otherwise.

He is either staying at Barca or coming to United.

Chelsea is just not a option.

If that did happen then United would take their levels of ineptitude to a completely new level.

Never happening.

Not really, because i'm still sure this is all from Barcas side, which is why Romero and FFPolo and the sorts are going in hard, but the UK journos are kinda meh about the whole thing.

If it's true and he ends up at Chelsea, so be it, but as it stands, i'm still confident and the fact that United are still in for him and are not backing away shows they're confident too

We aren't buying Neves as a replacement.

They aren't even same players, never mind wolves looking something daft

I never bought it up, the other guy wanted to take on my IQ like a child so I replied as a child.
But for you to respond by saying your IQ destroys his because you’re a doctor kinda shows you have poor IQ, right?

Ten Hag wasn't significantly involved in targeting players at Ajax, moving here is meant to be a step up and yet somehow he's now meant to be the one doing that? It's the clubs fault, if they thought their scouting was deficient they shouldn't have waited until the end of April to sack the head scouts and leave them in a position where the only players they could identify were ones that Ten Hag knew from the Dutch league or ex/current Ajax players.

If we were to view this through rose-tinted glasses, we could say the following:

  • Utd have been in discussions with Barca for 13 weeks now
  • In all likelihood, EtH has been driving the discussions with FdJ
  • EtH was interested in Timber and Brobbey but pulled out when they said they would rather stay at Ajax
  • EtH and FdJ seem to have a very good relationship
  • Why would EtH continue this saga if FdJ wasn't interested?
  • There are four different players involved in the saga: Utd, Chelsea, Barca, and FdJ's team
  • Romano gets his sources from the agent
  • All we have heard from the agent is that FdJ is staying
  • This could be because (a) he genuinely doesn't want to leave or (b) he's playing hard-ball for the money he's owed
  • Romano is well-connected to FdJ's agent, Ali Dursun (As are Utd though Malacia and van de Beek)
  • FdJ holds all the leverage against Barca; if he says he wants to leave, he can kiss the €17M goodbye
  • Barca are in huge financial trouble and need to get in some funds in order to register players
  • As they have been refusing to pay FdJ the €17M, this transfer saga has rumbled on and on
  • Barca want it over and done with quickly so that they can register players
  • Barca contact Chelsea and ask them if they are interested in signing FdJ
  • This could either be (a) a bluff to get Utd to up the transfer fee by €17M or (b) an attempt to sell FdJ to Chelsea because they believe that FdJ is unwilling to move to Utd
  • Most of the Chelsea sources that have reported Chelsea's interest in FdJ are Tier 1
  • But none of them have devoted significant lines to their reports about their interest in him
  • On the other hand, the Barca sources seem to be going stronger on this, saying that FdJ has ruled out Utd
  • But if FdJ has ruled out Utd, why hasn't EtH pulled the plug just yet?'
  • And the Utd sources still seem to suggest that Utd are quite confident about this
Ultimately, there are two possibilities: either the Utd sources were right along and the Barca sources were spreading manure or Utd were delusional.

tbf. IQ doesn't always equate to maturity.
It essentially measures ones problem solving skills and rationale. Being a doctor doesn’t make one qualified in that skill.

I’ve met some people who have very high IQ who drive taxis for a living.

I refuse to be believe any adult, especially an adult who’s been through medical school for 8-9 years, so is likely over 30, would type such a childish thing.
I know plenty of doctors, including my mother in law. They don’t use those phrases (eg my IQ destroys yours). If he’s a doctor, then I’m a teapot.

Which is why it’s a bit of a gamble. If the stadium and commercial deals don’t all fall in to place then you will be in trouble with FFP.

Essentially he’s spending now and banking on the fact he can make big changes with the clubs revenue to balance it out (and the team can deliver on the pitch)
