He looks like a manager who doesn't want to show anything in public because he's about the scream at the players when they get to the dressing room.

That was disgusting. We have zero leaders on the pitch, we're taking too many touches, McTominay is pointless and needs replaced with someone who can actually play football, the rest of the team aren't any better. We're nervous and panicking on the ball against fecking Brighton.
Yeah I agree he did look angry when walking down the tunnel just then.

I think we need to bring Ronaldo on regardless of the issues around him. The few times we've put crosses into the box there's no one who is going to win a header in there against guys like Dunk. We need a focal point

Brighton are a great side? What the hell....then City and Pool are what? Guardians of the Galaxy?
We are playing against a solid mid table side and we are all over the place.
I'm...really not sure if you actually read all of my post or fully understood it.

We actually look worse than last season, and I didn’t think that was possible. Although the starting eleven is pretty much the same but without Ronaldo and Lindelof, and both their replacements are a step down so it’s no surprise we look worse!

    What a depressing situation.

We have a much worse team than last season.

Midfield shite: Yes. But part of that is Potters tactics, flooding the central midfield.
How many times have Mctomminay and Fred been overrun ? United will finish outside the top 6 if no midfielders are purchased it's a guarantee.

It's one half. But honestly it's so sad having to watch Fred and McTominay. I'm like a broken record moaning about them, but they're so average.

Dalot and Shaw aren't good enough either.
Rashford and Bruno have been terrible as well….

And I got almost lynched for questioning whether we will make top 4 this season. Squad wise we are getting further away each summer it feels. Not making the right call on the market whilst our rivals strengthen and strengthen

How so, haven’t the club been going balls deep to get him FDJ, also got him Malacia, Martinez and Eriksen.

If Erik couldn’t with his own fecking eyes see how shit these midfielders are and could not find even one better player in the whole of world football who’s name isn’t FDJ…then I certainly have no sympathy for him.
    100% this.

No surprise whatsoever. Anybody thinking we dan consistently win games with Dalot at right back, McFred and the inconsistoncey of Fernandes and and Rahford as a star player is living in dreamland.

This is just showing how piss poor our summer recruitment has been so far. Martinez has struggled but thats not a big surprise this early, see somethig in him. Yet again Maguire caught in no mands land for the first goal neither trackig the runner or moving towards the ball, yet again the counter attack was started by one of mctominay and Fred with sloppy passing or over running the ball.

The manager is almost irrelevant with this current crop. The likes of Dalot, Baguire, McFred simply dont have the inntelligence or ability to adapt to his ideas.

Keane is right at half time, without the ball, we are as poor as anyside in the premiership as several players are just not good enough....We dotn need a defensive midfielder in Ten Hags system I have heard again and again this summer....are you kidding me? Without a shadow of a doubt we need two central midfielders signed....thats the biggest problem with this side, until that is solved, we stand still McFred, they are both simpyl nowhere near good enough

We desperately need signings. De Jong and a defensive midfielder. Eriksen to play in the number 10. A proper striker on the highest level. A CB partner for Martinez / Varane . A right back and a new keeper.
Maguire, McT, Fred, Dalot should be sold asap.

Take off Fernandez, Mctominay, Fred, Rashford, Sancho. All of them not performing.
Play ; Dalot Maguire, Varane, Shaw as back line. Move Martinez up to midfield. Play Garner to partner him. Erikson as 10 and the forwards should be Garnacho, Ronaldo and Elanga. At least there will be some attacking excitement.

Bruno buries that chance and it's a different game
Winners don't rely on some butterfly effect. Winners find a way to succeed even when Bruno's chance is missed. It's the exclusion of luck, of misfortune. Excellence is getting shit done regardless of one single miss not going your way.

You do not wait for a goal to go your way until you take the game by the scruff of the neck. No winning team in history just waited for the dominos to fall the right way.

The players that we all know aren't good enough continue to prove beyond reasonable doubt that they should be nowhere close to our first 11. Dalot, Mctominay, Fred and Maguire. Then you have Bruno and De Gea who are overrated beyond belief. We need all 6 out of the starting lineup if we are to go anywhere.

This is what I expected and dreaded. Ten Hag might genuinely end up getting the sack due to these incompetent players/owners too in a few months.
I would have zero sympathy for him if that were to happen, he has been watching Dalot in training for the last six weeks and he somehow think he is good enough to start right back for us? Seriously questionable judgement there. Same goes for Martinez, as I said in his thread, we were already well stocked with average centre backs and now we have another one, who is a few inches too short for the PL to add to the comedy value.

He had plenty of time to buy a right back who could easily have been funded from the sales of Dalot and AWB. Williams is much better player than Dalot.

Bruno still trying the first time Hollywood pases as well. All the coaching is really paying off.

Brighton have lost their two best players and are on course to hammer us again. feck me we are a frustrating shit show of a team.

Unfortunately it’s looking like this system might be incredibly hard to implement with the midfielders we have. One of the worst midfield displays I’ve ever seen.

Bruno and Eriksen seem to have zero understanding so far. Although it's hard to say as Bruno has been misplacing passes to pretty much everyone. Rashford and Sancho not in the game at all either

    Fred? Everyone

The ball shouldn't of got out of their half
to be fair he presses the man eriksen is running with and ends up leaving 2 players behind him wide open. he should be dropping off and filling the space there, not trying to nick the ball.

People complain about the players being too casual and collecting their wages.. not giving it their all...

the club deserves it .. Ronaldo pulling that nonsense all season still makes the squad.. there are no consequences for not trying.. no wonder no serious player wants to come here... and the ones that are here cant be bothered.. its a paid vacation..

I still can't believe we finished 6th with 0 goal difference and managed to go into this season with an even poorer squad. Amazing work really.

    Don't forget we lost Greenwood.

Club is absolutely brain dead yet people defend it
I really don't get it. We lost like 6 players (Greenwood, Cavani, Lingard, Matic, Mata and Pogba) while Henderson and Telles went on loan. We only signed 3 players with only 1 who might be considered as a first teamer. Yet they think that the club had properly supported the manager.

It’s annoying that there were/are decent midfielders out there to get for not shocking money. But no one is good enough to improve us…

Just remember there was people defending McTominay and Maguire before this season started. Will that continue?

Hopefully this drives a reaction from our board. Our squad is shit and needs major surgery. I kind of thought it was painfully obvious after last season but theres been quotes about our team being 'much better than they showed last season'. They weren't, they aren't, more or less all of them need to be moved on

United didn't take long at all to bring that feeling of despair back. I'm one naive cnut to think this would be any different just because we have a new manager in charge. Same lack of chances created, same non existent midfield, same shambolic defense conceding at the back post. Horrible all around. I don't even know what changes to suggest. I'll just pray for a draw now and go to sleep angry when I don't get it.
I’ll put my handup and admit to being naive too :(

1st 45 mins of the season
I know. But I can’t see any positives at all. We’ll be facing better teams than Brighton and that’s quite scary as things stand now. It’s far too early really, I just feel really down about the whole shit show

Fred made as many mistakes in this half as the second part of the last season altogether. But my god what a fecking shite McTominay is. He's just nowhere, why does he not just go sat on the bench and we play in 10 man, he did absolutely nothing. Such an extreme coward he is. Hope he goes down after half time and never play for our club again.

Dalot and De Gea should be also benched, shame we have no better options. I don't understand how can Dalot almost prove everyone in the preseason wrong that he's half decent player, sharp and everything and now just play standing on the heals passing, controlling the pass five minutes with horrible touch and then pass it back.

De Gea with the ball will be a big problem and if have a howler de Gea this season we might as well struggle to finish top10..

What a mess we are in.

You got Fred who's always in the game and seemingly always on the ball, and as a result fecks it up at every opportunity. Then you have Mctomminy, who's never in the game and you question whether he's actually playing.

    Great combo.

That second goal, Fred was seriously just ball watching. He never looked behind him to see if anyone was making a run.
