seems obv Frenkie has a contract that says if he states his desire to leave Barca are not on the hook for any further payments
So his people have told him to continually say he wants to stay at Barca. Putting the club at fault for offloading him and thus owing him a shed load of wages
Meanwhile he's told Ten Hag once this has been sorted he will move to United. Hence we have not pulled out.
We end the window with Rabiot and Frenkie as midfield signings. Not Rabiot over Frenkie
And despite the whole world saying United are at sea it works out quite well for us in terms of Ten Hags rebuild which was always a multi season project and not as the media try to paint it, to have a finished team in place to attack Pool and City by August.
Keep the faith. This is the long game

Yes, I agree. That's why I said that he was correct in saying that we shouldn't have gone anywhere near him.
Read your response wrong.
I think it is the worst window given the players we let go / have lost since the start of last season and what we have brought in in comparison

I disagree. Every player that we've let go needed to go. And we've signed 2 first team players and one who will be pushing for the first team soon enough, unless Shaw has an upturn in form.

Granted, we'll be a bit short if we don't get an attacker and a midfielder or two over the line before the end of the month

That it's the worst transfer window we've had under the Glazers? Yes
That we were wrong for trying to sign Arnautovic? No

Doesn't stop him being a miserable shit though
Perspective. Considering we've just come off our worst season in decades I'd definitely argue it's our worst. Most fans knew what we had to do and we've failed in almost every aspect. Eriksen is literally the only positive going by that first match and that's nowhere even close to being enough. Although it's not over it's not looking like a promising end to the window.

Whilst I have no doubt that Laporta wants De Jong out, and that little push/pull performance is just a dance for the Fans so they don't blame him for De Jong leaving, I don't think the Chelsea interest is entirely made up. I also think maybe the club and Ten Hag have realised they can't let this go to the wire and have nothing done.

Don't disagree, we have not adequately replaced Matic, Greenwood, or Cavani so our squad is weaker than at the start of last season.

If de Jong or his agent says that the want to have a sit down, I expect Boehly will show up with his checkbook.

Its clear why the elite clubs didn't move in for De Jong wasn't down to his abilities but because they were aware its going to be messy.

One things that does not sit right is that quite a lot it has been said that he does not want to join United and would prefer a UCL club like Chelsea, lets see whats happens but that part is a little worrying if you ask me

He is going to start their match this weekend right ? Seeing as they have not be able to register any of their new signings yet. Wonder how all those new players are feeling right now watching their first game of the season from the stands.

It’s not like it’s the first time this happened? I thought they’ve been doing this for one or two seasons now?

I thought if they didn't register their players by this weekend, then they couldn't, or something?

Or was the deadline just that they wanted them done for the first game? So it's not a deadline at all?

I think they can register until the transfer window closes? Seeing as clubs can still make transfers even after the season starts. So I think they have until Sept 1st to register them, not sure though.

They can register as long as the window is open, but they'll miss the first matches, yeah

Yeah, I think that's probably the hard deadline, but there has been a lot of talk about August 13th, which must just be the deadline to register players for their first game

Pique and Busquets will take pay cuts and they will register the players.

Yeah, I think you're right. I misunderstood the talk of this August 13th 'deadline' I think

Can't be bothered to give them clicks, what did he say?
(given we have actually been discreet this summer, I'm betting on a negative spin, he can't possibly say he hasn't a clue in all transparency, and saying anything positive would be too risky).

All the football brass at Manchester City are hardcore Barsa people. They will do what they can to help them as long as it doesn't affect the interests of their Emirati owners. Including accepting less than true market value for Bernardo Silva. I bet you that if it had been Real Madrid that had wanted to buy the player, the amount would have been much, much higher.
I'm baffled it hasn't dawned on our fans, let alone our club management. We have wasted what... three summers on Barca midfield targets? Got none, but we go again.

And now it's even worse as our beef with Laporta and his close ties with the City boys goes back 20 years.

Just imagine for a second how the whole country, nevermind the press, would lay into us if we couldn't register our star signing for the first match
Not just one signing but like 6 new players. If we were in that situation we would never hear the end of it.

We all love United
I’m actually now fully convinced that this bitch face Frenkie doesn’t want to come here at all. It would have been done by now or even before the Brighton game if he had wanted to

Ten Hag and the club have been stringed and they have finally now realised this and thus we are moving onto the alternatives. I just hope the manager still has a system or plan in place now that he can’t get his top target into the team

Agreed and thats probably the exact reason we're not.

Add to that the fact that maybe the manager doesn't want him.

Comments like this make me laugh, they lambast the club for not learning from previous mistakes and then implore them to go and sign the latest big money available player
Typical response from journo is go british

I really doubt an agent who has 3 clients at our club, would string us along. Nor would Frenkie do the same to the manager who gave him his big break.

But at this point we just have to be patient and let it play out.

Anyone who has given up should just leave the thread, yes you are likely to be proven right but leave the muppets to believe

At all.

I’m guessing you know that because unless you haven’t been following this at all, you know that he is owed deferred money by Barca and has refused to discuss moving until that is sorted out. You know that, so why post something that is basically the same BS we get every day?
