From the little I've seen, he'd be a huge upgrade on McTom. Where Bruno fits into a midfield including him, I don't know however. Perhaps:

Bruno / Eriksen - SMS / Fred
DM / Backup DM

I quite like the look of that to be fair.

I'm going off the last year.
Why would you go off one season to describe any player? Especially when you can see that it's the only year where Pogba doesn't attempt 8 more passes than SMS?

The best way to utilize him in the premier league would be like LvG used Fellaini, an 8 with license to get forward.

This should be quite effective with Eriksen pinging balls into the final 3rd.

Because the most recent season is most relevant. I don't consider Pogba the same player as he was 4-5 years ago. Taking stats from that period in his career misrepresents him as a player now IMO

Fellaini was playing as a #10 wasn’t he?

Pogba is a player on the decline anyway, and without even looking I expect last season was statistically his worst in most areas.

How is that more relevant to a general observation about both players tendencies? You know that it's not and you also know that it's not even useful to your point, Pogba loses the ball less whether he attempts more passes than SMS or the same amount of passes.

His highlights are surprisingly underwhelming for someone thats been labelled the best midfielder in Italy

Where the grass is greener.
I'm not going to suddenly pretend this excites me, but its one of the better links of the last few days. Again I'm impressed how some seem happy to paint every transfer in a positive light.

So is SMS. He's absolutely more mobile than Matic though

You're living in cuckoo land if you don't think so.
I tell you what mate, you're living in cuckoo land if you think he's as mobile as Matic was and living in delusion if you genuinely think this guy for €68M is going to improve us at all, he's a nothing player it'll just take the usual suspects until it's too late, to realize.

I disagree.

In the last year SMS has attempted significantly more passes per game and their pass completion rate is 81% SMS and 83% Pogba. SMS like I said also played well over double the minutes Pogba did.

The Rabiot links have crippled me. They make the SMS rumours look like we are linked with prime Zidane.

Which shows that he loses the ball more Pogba is at 83.6% with the same amount of passes over his career. You are trying to argue against an obvious fact for no good reason. And Pogba's 83% on 56 passes is higher than SMS 77% on 56 passes.

Oh, he's going to improve us but if we ever get to the point of trying to compete with top teams, we'll need to upgrade him quickly and that'll be difficult if we're paying 68m for him.

I'd rather not thanks, as cute as your green smiley is. You are doing what every desperate numpty does when we inevitably feck up the transfer window, they delude themselves into believing some bum option is the solution instead of just accepting the reality that we've fecked up another season.

Why even the Pogba comparisons? On song and fit (hardly ever) almost no midfielders are better than him, certainly not SMS. Doesn't mean we shouldn't look at him because at the moment we have Scott McTominay playing in midfield for us.

That's why he's a waste of money, we still won't get top 4, he's bang average and at a high price we'll be stuck with.

You are deluded. I can't take anything you say even remotely seriously if you think Matic was mobile last season. You could hear his bones creaking when he tried to run.

Someone suggested that Pogba lose the ball more than SMS, which is wrong.

He's a player with a profile similar to Pogba but with really good defensive skills too. Coming off his best year too, not a declining player.

He attempted far more passes.

Once again, I'm not talking about the career. I'm referencing the last year. Pogba is a worse player now than he used to be.

I'm not interested in what he did 4-5 years ago because he's gotten worse as a footballer.
