That's a great price but my inner sneaky transfer sceptic thinks Utd are letting these stories out to put pressure on the evil Barca. I don't think there is any doubt that FDJ is still the number one target.

Saw this tweet the other day which kind of sums up my feelings on him — Milinković-Savić is a good individual player, I just don’t seem him being a particularly functional fit in the current team we have:
Everything he excels in is further up the pitch, leaving the central midfield duties to other players. That’s not what we need in midfield!

Keep a clean shit tomorrow, United is my final bus
I take it this will only happen if frenkie is definitely off the table? I think SMS could be underappreciated just as yaya toure was when he left Barcelona as a DM. Abit of a meh signing from Barcelona and he turned out to be a monster midfielder who played and excelled in AMC and CM roles for city.

I'd be happy if we got SMS and Rabiot. Slightly more happy if we got frenkie and Rabiot.
Yaya is quite an apt comparison, both share similar attributes. Yaya was a conundrum fit quite a while, if I remember he was considered a DM at Barca but really found his groove further up the pitch for City.

At £42m I'd actually be disappointed if we don't go for it.

What a ridiculous statement.
That Bruno is a liability with the ball? He's not going to last in this system and will only be exposed more and more by the demands placed upon him alongside Eriksen being a superior player.

yeah agreed, but couldn't Erikson play the deep lying role. Not ideal but would give us the conduit between defence and mid/attack

I feel like watching pre-season, we attempted a lot of aerial plays, so I don't think that's true at all. His general heatmaps that I've seen don't really support what he's saying either.

he's not the type of CM that we need and 42m would be wasted money....SMS isn't going to receive out of the back and help progress the ball forward which is what we need

our connectors/pivot players have no vision, the touch of a rapist and dribbling ability of a new born giraffe

Eriksen played that role in the 2nd half and did well. We shall see if he does it again against Brentford.

I’ve just never heard it be used in a sentence before. Such an odd fecking analogy to use.
Because people stopped using it after metoo when they realized it was a serious problem than just a joke.

While I think he is a good player, and could be very useful in the right set up, I just do not see how he is the answer to our midfield problems in any way.

That StatmanDave endorses him as our ideal number 8 makes me even more secure in my opinion.

42m would be great business. Is he the type of midfielder we need though? I’m not so sure. We wasted like 40 on van de beek and I’m not sure he was a planned signing as no manager as any idea how to use him. He’s best in a number 10 but we have Bruno. We need someone to play deep who’s comfortable with the ball and can play progressive passes into the creative players.

Whats your alternative or suggestion?
Not making rash signings just to make a signing that binds us for years with more wages. We literally just offloaded a bunch of 28/29 year olds who wouldn’t renew, weren’t great, and nobody would buy. There’s no reason to panic buy players who don’t fit the system

Hmm, maybe I should have said phased out instead of stopped, as its not just because of that. It's just not as funny anymore. Some of us tried to change it to touch of a Lukaku at some point.

Ah another one of these people who don’t properly know what being woke is so they use it in every argument. Youre like this cause youre woke. You’re like that cause you’re woke.

Yes, because rape is hilarious.
I really don’t think he thinks its hilarious, its a saying I’ve heard a thousand times, it just means lacking subtlety, maybe not the best analogy but people on here are very sensitive.

theres off the cuff comments / bantz (!), but then theres comments you go to the effort of writing down, on a public forum. and then turn into a snowflake when questioned.

no...that topic isn't funny when there is a serious nature to it

this was a bloody joke about a football player and having a shitty touch like Lukaku and it's been blown way the fuk out of proportion. Then again, from the caf what do you expect.

as for the woke shit...i'll leave that to the political board

That's incredibly insensitive and ignorant. Now write a 3 page apology saying how sorry and wrong you are

Its not that useful a stat when 75% of his touches last season were in the middle third or his half for perhaps the most possesion oriented team in Serie A.

He still is not a #6 but will be a very good option at #8 as an RCM linking up with others and progressing play into the attacking third. For around £40m that's a terrific deal
