I think United are just sitting pretty. Waiting for Barca to cave to pay Frankie or go bust (we benefit either way). While we are desperate for Frankie, this really is not our problem. I also doubt Chelsea are willing to pay his wages (as a point of principle) or he would probably already be gone. He surely cannot want to stay at Barca with the blood being so bad. So we wait.
No we are not sitting pretty. We are desperate as our entire season hinges on this particular acquisition. I doubt Barca are as desperate as they seemed to have settled the debt issue, at least temporarily. The only club that are sitting pretty are Chelsea. Doubt they even care.

If they are able to get Auba and Fofana and sell some of their deadwood, they are good to finish third again.

We were so idiotic for even getting involved in this epic farce.
Not our fault they’re a circus over there. We want a player, agree a deal with the club and are waiting to see if they sort their shit out.

I think Barca, on the edge of not being able to register players 1 DAY before kick off, would just pay the deferred wages by now. :houllier: United and Chelsea are also apparently willing to pay them. Frenkie really does seem intent on staying no matter what. Although it fecks Barca, I do commend him for staring adversity in the face.
Agreed, and I've mentioned this countless times before if it was really just about the deferred wages Barca would pay it. It makes no sense from their perspective to not pay FDJ his deferred wages but at the same time missing out on all their shiny new signings.

It's as people have been saying all along, he doesn't want to leave regardless of the deferred wages.

This is going on.
£21 million for 33 year old player that they got on a free last year and don’t want anymore would be hilarious at the best of times. Let alone in this situation.

Absolute jokers. I almost hope everyone tells them to feck off and refuses to give them any money.

Watched the Arsenal documentary and Barcelona is a joke of a club to do transfers or loans with even from it's one episode. So just save your nerves and hope we can find a solution.

Not even last year, it was January. 6 months later they want to sell.

It actually makes me mad even though I have no stake in this. Auba should tell them to feck off

I find it crazy that Kounde would rather do this than have moved to Chelsea and slot straight in.

Xavi allegedly told Kounde he was a key player before the move then they don’t even priorities registering him.

It’s bizarre that these players seem to be brainwashed by the club.

So basically Auba and Frenkie are both up for grabs. feck it pay them the 17m for the deferred wages and take Aubameyang too.

Registering Christensen over Kounde makes sense, Christensen could leave if he wasn't registered by tomorrow, however Kounde can't (as they paid a transfer fee for him). So it's the logical decision for their circus.

And that Xavi is playing along with it, being very duplicitous in his statements. What a disgusting snake.

Slightly embarrassed to comment on page counts but breaking the 2,000 mark seems highly likely now doesn't it?

Barcelona have been an utterly disgrace of a football club in the way they've handled this. And I used to admire them in the past.

One thread to rule them all, one thread to find them,
One thread to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them;
In the land of Barca, where the levers lie.

(don't mind me, it's hot!)

He also took a big pay cut to join with the promise his wages would increase for this season. I could swear I have heard this story somewhere before
Absolute basketcase of a club. They're just carrying on as if all of this is normal, and some of their fans are writing dissertations on why all of this is completely normal, and very necessary.

But only if you consider this transfer to some kind of act in isolation. Which it isn't, it is part of our summe transfer business 2022 which in itself is part of our Season preparation for 2022/23. Us becoming some sort of bystander for a transfer for one of the key positions of the whole squad is pretty problematic. At least we seemingly started now to prepare other midfield signings, as uninspiring as they are.
